Hollister Rally 2024 would be the 77th Anniversary of the "Hollister Riot" in 1947.

The 2014 Hollister Motorcycle Rally. I filmed on July 4th, 2014.
This year is the 67th Anniversary of the "Hollister Riot" in 1947.
On July 4 1947, 4000 'straight-piper' motorcycles rode into Hollister, California. The bikers planned to spend the holiday weekend partying and watching the races. Their plan to party was successfully carried out. The local police said that the bikers "did more harm to themselves than they did to the town". As usual, the press blew the story out of proportion and made most Americans think Bikers were up to no good. That is the farthest thing from the truth then and now. In 1953 this event was dramatized by Hollywood in the movie 'The Wild One' starring Marlon Brando and Lee Marvin.
