Gentlemen, I want to express how grateful I am for what you’re doing. To me, you are taking these worship songs and imbuing them with a strength and a masculinity that is rare in modern Christian worship. That’s not a chauvinistic statement either. As a man, I often feel that the songs in church don’t provide me with an opportunity to really express and offer my masculinity in worship to God. I often feel that I want to scream, to roar with the strength God has given me, but to do so would be out of place in my church setting. Where can a warrior worship as a warrior? Well, you have provided an answer to that question. On the other hand, when I listen to most “Christian Heavy Metal”, I find that it typically sounds like rebranded and sanitized secular Death Metal, lacking completely in authentic praise to our Heavenly Father. “The Lord is a warrior, the Lord is His name” Exodus 15:3. This God, which we worship is the bringer of fire on Mount Carmel, the commander of the legions of fiery chariots, the one who unleashed a living hell on Egypt. He is a God of power and majesty, and deserving of every kind of praise. David danced before the Lord with all his might. I wonder what he would have done with a modern drum kit... BTW, if you’re looking for more songs to cover, May I recommend looking at some of the work of the late Rich Mullins? Sometimes by Step and Awesome God would be incredible in your format.
