Let's gooo, I always wanted to make an Ink Potts inspired animatic and I'm also a big fluttercord fan so here's my little contribution to a fandom that's been very dear to my heart for many years, I plan on making animatics for the whole musical but if I can't, I promise to make at least 2 more of these.
I'm using this fandom animatics to play around and experiment with storyboards, hope you like them :)
Audio is from the 25th anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011.
Characters are from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic owned by Hasbro, I don't own any of these things.
-What software did you use?
Photoshop CS6 for the art, iMovie for putting everything together
-Will you make a full animation?
No, this is the finished product, but if someone wants to take this animatic and work on it they are free to do so
I know Twilight looks a bit weird here I'll fix it in the next video I promise.

I love how gen4 has ended and the gen5 is going yet people still make projects around Gen4. Gen4 will always be the best. It's about time the best opera of all time would be ponyfied. 💜
Rarity being meg is such a brilliant choice, it showcases her at her very best, overcoming her personal love of the spotlight to raise her friends up.
I can't believe ponyville made a whole production off that kirin singer's idea, I hope they at least paid her royalties
I like how Twilight and Fluttershy are used as lovers not meant to be in these theatrical Animatics, Like Previously shown in the Count of Monte Cristo Saga by Inkpotts

I remember reading a fanfic about Fluttercord in a “Phantom of The Opera” universe and I absolutely loved it. I’m so happy that you’re going to make animatics about this idea! You’ve made an amazing job, and I can’t wait to see what you’ll do next! 😊

I LOVE the casting and artistic choices you made for the animatic!! The glimpses and hints of discord/Discord (haha) denoting his presence, utilizing Fluttershy's wings to enhance the angel imagery, emphasizing the use of unicorns for the nobility, the PRINCESS SISTERS IN SUITS, everything was a slay and I can't wait to see more from you and this AU!!!!!
The facial expressions you drew for Cadenza after Discord tried to sabotage her was hilarious. Celestia is hilarious throughout this whole thing. You drew Fluttershy so well! Amazing job on this!

Her facial expressions prior to the Phantom's ""message"" reminded me of one of the actresses in a musical I got to go see recently, they were galivanting about a park in Paris with an old beau full of borderline burlesque buffoonery (it was great fun).

Wow I never thought of Cadence as Prima Donna, I thought someone stereotypical like Fleur de Lis, but I’m glad I was wrong! Seeing Shining hold her was so funny

Absolutely stunning! I was nearly in tears! It’s such a great AU and your art and dedication for this vid is outstanding. All the backgrounds are so detailed and beautiful (ESPECIALLY the shot of the outside of the theater). All the characters are so well done and impressive, fluttershy’s wings were so pretty. And the fact it’s all in COLOR, you’re unstoppable. I hope this vid gets all the views it deserves, and I hope to see more of this AU from you ~
This is incredible!!!! The facial expressions of the background ponies had me absolutely rolling. The amount of character you put into everything, the cinematic shots of the exterior of the opera house *chef’s kiss*. This is absolutely amazing!!!! Would love love love to see this series continued and I’m so glad you chose the 25th anniversary version!

A great Ink Potts inspired animatic, it definitely had a similar style. I especially saw the resemblance when Twilight started singing.
The animation also has a touch of Alumx in the character designs, I feel. But perhaps that's simply a similarity and not an inspiration.

Seriously, this animatic is fantastic and I can't wait to be see more with it. Though since you're using the 25th anniversary audio, I blush to think Discord with Ramin Karimloo's voice (Not only my favorite Phantom, but an amazing singer/actor as well! I actually saw him as Jean Valjean in 'Les Misérables' so I can attest to that).
And it has! Still, deserves even MORE!!
Sweet cheese and crackers, I love this! Everything flows so wonderfully, the emotions conveyed are brilliant, and overall this is just amazing work! Also holy moly, the amount of detail in the building design is gorgeous. My favorite bit in this has to be Twilight/Raoul's singing scene - the amount of joy conveyed through the expression and movement are brilliant!

Only just found this... serious kudos. I'm no longer very active in the mlp Fandom, but I'm glad to see such wonderful fan content is still being created. Gorgeous color and line work. Using Cadence as you did was a stroke of genius.

It's so tough to look on-model yet also animated. I'm a little intimidated by how good this is and how this channel came right tf out of no where.

Definitely reminds me of the Opera Phantom Discord. You did well with the inspiration from Ink Potts, this is so cool and so pretty and my goodness there's a lot of detail!! I'm not even really an artist and this must've taken so long, I mean you coloured and shaded and detailed every frame, that is remarkable. The expressions are great, you've got good timing, and I like the framing/camera work!
This is absolutely phenomenal. I had to stop at the very beginning more than once because I was cackling too much at Celestia and Luna's expressions to be paying attention to all of it. This is glorious! You've got such a wonderful concept of squash and stretch and I'm super excited to see the next part! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! ❤

Rewatching this for the hundredth time now and I must mention the backgrounds and how gorgeous they look!! It's loosely drawn and sketchy, but it fits in with the style! They're all very pleasing to the eye, especially the outside of the opera house! It's beautifully drawn!!

Not really sure princess Candace was a good pick for the role of singer Carlotta. I would have thought someone a bit more aloof or self centered would have been a better match. Like Nightmare, Rarity, or any other uppity pony for that matter. Ooooo! Queen Chrysalis would have been perfect! Her behavior matches perfectly with Carlotta. Chrysalis is Very selfish and self centered. Even going as far as to mistreat her own kind to further her goals. Fluttershy was a great pick and actually does match with the show in how she gained more confidence in herself while still keeping her kind nature❤
The amount of time this must have taken is insane, not to mention cooking the whole dang thing!
