- This is the song "Bad Guys" taken from Harold Faltermeyer's album "Harold F" released in 1988. This track features the same background score as featured in Beverly Hills Cop 2, but has Keith Forsey on vocals.
This is so 80's. I just love it! :D
If I invented a time machine, I'd probably pull a Biff Tannen and take over the 80s and play this song on repeat from my casino!

"It's a cold cold world..." Such a bad ass song xd one of the best classics around for an action film. I love the colours they chose for the film poster of Beverly Hills with the orange and yellow. Real classic almost makes you want to jump back in time to the 80s.

I actually like Keith's voice. He has a very Bowie-like sound. His other two tracks on "Harold F.," "Hunger of Love" and "Wicked Wind," are the best on the album. It's a real shame MCA chose "Prophecy" as the lead single; that was the real clunker. They should have chosen this instead, even if the album came a year after the movie did...
One of my favorite instrumentals in a movie. I had no idea that this song had vocals since they were omitted for the movie. I like both versions as the lyrics put different spin on it. I still think that pure instrumental is my favorite. Hopefully will be available soon. Nice work gentleman.

Is the BHC2 one remastered, because this version was only on "Harold F."
+Larry Wilson I don't know about Remastered but they only released BHC 1 & 2 Scores last week through La La Land Records. These scores also feature the songs that were in the films & both Cds have Amazing sound quality.
I like the vocal work, because its different and the song is pretty good too. Dangerous feeling on this song. But, film music is of course based on instrumental work mostly.
My dad still has the original vinyl of Harold F. Fantastic song and hat great quality. sounds excellent through the headphones. If you have the digital copy of this album I'd love to be able to get a copy of it from you somehow if possible. It's hard to find!

Escape from New York - The Duke Arrives/Barricade always felt like harold faltermeyer borrowed very liberally from john carpenter's "duke of new york" score. thoughts?
Ian Wilson he did, especially for this track. Faltermeyer's is more polished updated synth work. I'm surprised carpenter never sued.
+mugabesunny I always play the Instrumental track of Bad Guys at the same time as Duke Arrives from Escape and I get a neat mix. If you start the Bad guys track 1.5 seconds earlier it cues perfectly and the 2 songs play together forming an awesome tune.

It sounds like a mix of Duke Arrives/Barricade as well as President at the Train.
However, Faltermeyer's is audibly different in arrangement. It also doesn't have quite the same groove as Duke Arrives, just a similar drum pattern, but a four-count kick drum is pretty common. Also, the tom rolls are much faster and mixed up compared to President at the Train.
I think it's more of a very direct influence than a blatant rip-off.
This music prompts you to expect a giant helicopter to emerge from out of nowhere.

@kinnes2004 nope, there's none. Until the Beverly Hills Cop 2 score is released, there is no way to get it. I heard both Beverly Hills Cop Scores should be getting released in the near future so we might not have to wait that long! here's hoping!
