- SO we came across this overgrown yard and knew we had to stop and help this man out. What we didn’t realize is 2 things. One, his mower was busted and that’s why it is overgrown and two he had a garden out front that is beginning to take over the yard. He initially wasn’t interested in our help that is until we mentioned our price, free 99. Today are working on the front yard only since the back is actually all dirt and gravel. The challenge is working around these pumpkin vines without destroying them and we will also have to hand weed this garden to prevent any damage. Hang to the end, this was a very interesting and exciting project. The owner was very thankful, he speaks very little English so keep that in mind. Thanks for watching.

Thank you so much for saving his garden. The yard looks fantastic. The issue with the mower happened to me also. Twice. The first time it was only two weeks before I got it back. The second time, somehow they gave my mower to someone else. It took a week before I realized it was overdue and called to find where it was and another two weeks to get it back. The yard didn't look quite this overgrown but it was close. So sorry he had to go through this but thanks to you he now has a clean slate.

You have such heart & integrity doing all that extra work to save his pumpkins… my landlord pays a landscaper & there’s guys have cut into my potted plants, scratches my car by blowing dirt all over it& cut down my flowers. & they were getting paid! I'm disabled and wish I had someone to do my yard.my mower has seen it's better days.i am on a fixed income and can't afford to pay much but it would be a Gods blessing to have it done

You should not have uprooted those pumpkin runners. Rather than spreading a wide root system from a central point, gourds (and many cluster fruit vines as well) send out surface runners hunting for more nutrients to transport back to the blossoms and fruits. Pulling those up will stunt the fruit at best and prevent blooming at worst. If you are growing them on grass, you have to trim around them with hand shears. This is why I stopped doing three sisters plantings. I don't have a large enough mulch bed to let them trail out properly.

No mowers were used in the making of this video. It couldn’t be done this way. This was the most challenging endeavor done by the Blessing Boys. They showed huge respect by weeding and trimming around the pumpkin vines and around the tomato garden, the latter by hand. And the owner was mighty appreciative, and he had bottles of water for Justin and Ty. Looks swell by the way.
All I kept thinking about was him saying his lawn mower was broke 😂
Mowing and edging is one thing, but weeding and gardening is a blessing.

I hope the pumpkin vines survived. I know from experience they hate to be moved. But kudos to you for trying your best to honor his wishes and clean up the yard.

Such a nice job Justin and Ty! The man may not of spoke much English, but one knew he was pleased when he smiled and brought you waters. The extra care you both took around his veggies and pumpkins was very nice. Many people rely on home grown veggies to supplement their food bill, so real nice his veggies were weeded as well.

Next year he might think about picking up some free pallets and using them to build little platforms for the vines to grow on top of, and they can be moved as needed, maybe to the side of the house. Just a thought. 😊
