I actually almost cried at the part where there was flashbacks of the past Iconic Animators. The memories man, and oh man how we've all grown up. Beautiful animation as always GG!
A gladiator that realised too late the cost of it all and wanted to make sure nobody idolized arena based murder again, so he tried to destroy the stadium and all the statues and whatnot that held it. A misguided approach, but an understandable one, and Gildedguy and co only realized that was the actual goal after it was too late to really stop the fight.
It is also in memorial of RHG and the old stickfigure fights from the RHG community. It kind of comes off like someone who has witnessed the end of the RHG thing and wanted to destroy it all for being the last one left and so they could move on themselves.
Gilded guy and Arzon both have idols from this coliseums, there essentially the new generation, and them leaving the hammer at the coliseum is a form of respect for Andre, trying to save him show that this new generation of warriors may not end in a path of murders but in one of saviors, the red drop fading from Andre’s eyes as he falls is proof of that
So much nostalgia on this, all of these RHG thing that many put their effort & passion is already over a decade ago, the old vids from them are now a relic of what stickman used to be. Sadly most of us have to move on.
@@swavii4337 Considering how much of the ancient are here watching this video, I'd say they're very proud. Remember, much of the ancients went on to found Hyun's Dojo.
It’s sad to think I’ll never be able to truly experience this era of the stick figure and RHG community, but god it’s absolutely magical to do deep diving and to explore the old animations and story behind the community and the many animators who worked with soul and heart.
Amazing job as always! A true love letter to the stick figure and RHG comunity that couldn't have been done any better! I'm also very thankful that I got to be part of the production team for this one :) Was a cool experience!
Yet again thank you for your contribution after all these years oxob. You were one of my biggest inspirations alongside terkoiz, Alan Becker, and hyun from when I used to animate. And gildedguy has become an absolute legend over these past few years.

I said it before and I'll say it again. I'm so so honored to have Andre be featured in this animation. Gildedguy, you've done an absolutely amazing job and In forever in love with the world you've created! Thank you SO much for this amazing piece! I think I will make it part of my daily routine to watch this daily refuel my inspiration meter.
I think I finally got why Andre went all skeleton-mode during the fight! I saw in another video breaking down some of the easter eggs in here that the symbols in Andre's eyes are the logo for FluidAnims, and the X's through them represent the death of the site. Andre's eyes show the symbol/turn red as he gets more serious during the fight, as if he's remembering his past as one of the strongest fighters during his time. When he turns into a skeleton, I believe it's a representation of Travis "Stone" Steven going inactive, leaving Andre in animation limbo and effectively killing him. I'm not sure if this is true, but reading Story #7's teaser description of the website, GildedGuy wrote a paragraph talking about burnout and losing passion due to priority shifts or simply getting tired. I believe, at one point, GildedGuy was struggling to continue animating as his passion. This would be represented when Andre glares into GildedGuy's eyes and takes the fight out of him. Which means holy crap this animation is *a lot* deeper than I thought! Keep up the great work GildedGuy! Can't wait to see what other hidden message you hide in your animations! :)
I think this is also "seeing red" or activing killer instinct, as in the character being ruthless bloodless and no mercy. as in they are actively trying to kill the opponent.
@@AL-lh2htI think it's more a disillusionment with arena combat/combat in general, cuz GG goes red, hes not killer instinct. But he does seem frightened and disappointed by being nearly mortally injured by andre.
Out of everything in Story 7, my favorite moment had to be the scene starting at 2:50 when Arzon and GG meet Andre. You can feel the excitement of the pair seeing him in the flesh, the founder of the thing they love deep down. And then Andre just shoots them down like he’s saying “no, none of that” and just goes on with his purpose of tearing down the legacy he created, a legacy that was inspirational and entertaining to others, but to him is only filled with pain, bloodshed, and death.
I also love Arzon’s face in that moment, is so funny But yeah it’s some very big stuff, when watching live I couldn’t process the whole Andre flashback but now that I can pause and analyze all I can call this one of the more deep Gildedguy stories
Gotta love how andre actually *feels* experienced and like a strategist in battle, goind on the defensive at first since he doesn't know what they can do yet, keeping some cards under his sleeve just in case, like the lighting, and not using it anymore after seeing that GG can control it. Genius choreography
Also the double block he did, using his forearm to block Arzon's blunt wind attack and his hammer's handle to block Gilded's blade, was MASTERFUL. They really managed to get the pure skill gap across without letting Andre ruin them completely.
that choreography was definitly genious, look how Arzon uses Gildedguy gloves to fire them using air at the end of the fight, he probably learned that after punching some air by mistake at gildedguy's face, and just saw the glove going to HEAVENS lol 2:31 (he saw it) 7:08 (he uses it)
So many memories here. Gildedguy and Arzon are like us in a sense. Having grown up seeing are favourite Stick Figures throw down, and yes idolizing them a little. But Andre being the creator, saw it move from friendly sparring to arena murder, and now he despises it because of it costing him his friends. And I guess he feels guilty. Going around destroying old arenas making sure that the newest generation doesn’t idolize people who have killed. But upon seeing these new Gladiators trying to save him he feels at peace and passes on the torch of carrying the legacy of RHG to the next generation. Seeing that they are worthy.
I just noticed that, for a brief moment, you see Nhazul and Alpha in Arzon and Gildedguy while they are fighting in the air, more specifically at 7:03 and at 7:05. The living image of the legends in the new generations! That was amazing!
The amount of effort, patience and joy going into this art style the characters everything about this are heart melting to watch. Seriously man this is amazing I’ve been waiting for this for so long and it was so worth the wait take a big long break cus you will definitely need it
I love the fact they showed and paid homage to all the other gladiators that have lost there lives glide remembers the competition as a fun challenge between friends but stone has lost so many friends that he now despises it
He despises the legacy of bloodshed that followed him and friends. He basically went to every castle and destroyed them not wanting the next generation to idolize them. But after seeing Arzon trying to save him he was at peace knowing the next generation were not murderes but protectors.
@@jaylenharris343 I didn’t think abt it like that, very cool I figured Andre hated the legacy of rhg bc of the countless murders, but I didn’t think he allowed himself to die because he saw good in Gildedguy and Arzon
Blessed to see this. For those who dont keep the lore. Rock Hard Gladiators are avatars that the animators use in battle and precisely one of the more oldest is Andre A.K.A Hammerguy. and here you can see how the massive amount of violence and bloodshed left him scarred and remorseful of his past.
I've watched this probably 100 times by now, and I've only just noticed that the fluidanims banner was stuck to the sword during the air sequence, and once Gildedguy attaches the green pen, he also wears that banner as a cape The attention to detail never ceases to amaze me. You and the team are absolutely incredible and I look forward to the premiere of Story 8! Man, this community is awesome.
The last animation, story 0, was great because it could be appreciated by anyone, it was a great tale of following your dreams, taking risks and not compromising on what's important to you. But this one? It's entirely personal. It's all meant to call back to another era, and I suppose not everyone can understand how important this is to an all things considered small corner of youtube and internet. But damn, I'm so thankful it exists. Gildedguy, you made something important. For those of us who were there, alongside you, in the good ol' days and for those who appreciate the unfiltered quality of your animations, thank you so much.
@@bonabonatex8011 it stands for Rock Hard Gladiators I believe. A game was made with it as the main them and was different peoples stick figures fighting you had to choose who would win. quite a cool thing to see how much animation went into them
I get RHG here. Maybe the fact that so many of those he shared his legacy with have perished or retired. He felt alone and couldn't handle thinking of having to carry all of that legacy by himself, so he decided to destroy it. But seeing the new generation strengthening themselves so much with that same legacy that caused him so much pain, and not just that, but nearly incarnating those who came before and surpassing him, enjoying a good fight with cheeky smiles on their faces. I guess by the end he realized that maybe, it wasn't all that bad
Andre became bitter because of the countless bloodshed in his team's legacy. So he decided to destroy it all so history wouldn't repeat itself or for them to be idolized after their dark past. But when he saw Arzon trying to save him he realized the next generation might not tread the same bloody path.
@@maxtel22 If you follow all the records of the clans and duel of each RHG you will be able to see the vids but not everything is what you see int he flashbacks.
This story really hits so much andre wanted to destroy the arena so nobody else idolize it and uses it as a way for entertainment, he lost so many friends to the point he despises it, his only goal was to destroy what was meant to be destroyed in the first place which is a really understandable thing to do considering how the arena does nothing but uses people killing each other as entertainment
But that's also wrong, he was tired of the bloodshed for the wrong reason. That's why when he infects GG it's GG's passion and memory of the fights that reignite him and cause him to rise up and show what the new generation of stickfigure (animator) can do, and how the old generation inspired everything that's happening now ^.^
Thank you for describing the message of this perfectly for me I knew it was there but my brain could not process it to tell other people about the impact this had.
This almost made me cry, man. i know this will get buried under a whole sea of comments but i remember being like 8-9 years old thinking these stick fight videos were the coolest thing i had ever seen. i spent days and days watching every single one, i probably watched Shock over 50 times haha. GildedGuy was also a huge factor in my love for these videos, but i remember Oxob, Hyun, and especially Jomm were my absolute heros, and even got me into making a few animations myself. Years have past and i’m sad to say for the most part i’ve forgotten about the way these animations made me feel, and as soon as i got this in my recommended it was like a breath of fresh air. This is such a work of art and as everyone else is saying, it’s a love letter to those days in the early 2010s. If any of you also feel the way I do, I’m glad we can share a memory. I hope I never forget where I came from :)
It has been a heck of a journey assisting with this animation! Everyone who worked on this did such a great job and I couldn't be more amazed with the result. This was a beautiful tribute to the importance of respecting the past and yet accepting the present. I am excited for future Gildedguy stories to unfold!!
5:47 - 6:06 ): For anyone who didn’t know, this is a reference to a RHG Animation called FLLFFL Vs Drifts where FLLFFL/ALFA stabs Drifts in one of his arms using his Jet Sword in order to pin him down, similar to how Andre did it but with Gildedguy’s Sword and grabs a weapon to finish them off but unlike FLLFFL who grabbed Drifts’s Scythe and slammed it into his skull, Andre spares Gildedguy by walking away and retrieving his hammer in order to fully destroy the stadium. I’m surprised that little people knew about this until now.
Yeah, and I suppose that Mynoghra stabs Gildedguy with her nail to pin him down in the final episode so she can get back at Hobo for what he has done to her and the other Gotlia.
Plus it's nice paraler to whole animation where is GG portraited as Alpha's successor and get stabed in to right arm. Arm Alfa lost in fight with Pulse.
Absolutely a masterpiece of work as always! My JAW DROPPED at the flying scene and it stayed that way until the end of the video. Literally you can pause it at any part and it can still look like a painting.
I'm surprised people haven't mentioned yet the frame at 5:53 where it shows Andre as a corpse, seeing how it explains him later just disappearing seemingly into nowhere at the end: he was never alive. From the looks of it, Andre has been dead for quite a while, however, the pencil ended up reviving him, which would explain why he was so hellbent on keeping it in his hammer, even IF it was also boosting his power, it was also *keeping him alive* for just that little bit of time. It would appear, having come back to life, as others mentioned he's decided to destroy the arenas and legacy of RHG with his borrowed time, having realized the mistakes he'd made, and how many people had died from what he'd started. This would also explain why the pencil seems to have had *so much* of it's juice used. We've seen Gilded fight in the past, and his actions don't really seem to have ever even made any visible dent on it's supply, but not only reviving but also potentially empowering a wholeass person? That *would* probably be a whole lot more energy-intensive than anything Gilded's ever used it for, admittedly. Overall, it'll certainly be interesting to see what happens in the next animatic, since from the ending bit, I get a mighty feeling that the next animation might be the one where Gilded finally reaches his star, with only a small bit of juice left in his pencil and his armor very likely not in the best of states, it'll certainly be interesting to see what/who he has to face and how he'll deal with them in this situation where he's resources are more limited than ever. Also as an aside, man this animation was awesome, I especially loved the little first-person bit since it showed just *how* much more skilled Andre was and just how little chance Gilded and Arzon were from the beginning.
nope not at all it definitely do something for him tho but he is pretty much a walking corpse or something like spirit of vengeance BEFORE the magic pen even there like he already destroy 7 arena's before This last one so yeah definitely give him some kind of power boost and he using it to the max..like look at that Jump but other than that? yeah
@@firdanharbima6997 seeing how we don't know how much time ut's veen since the last animation, and seeing how quickly he destroyed this seemingly larger arena, I wouldn't put it past Andre that he destroyed them during the time it took gilded to get to the final arena. Would explain the scene at the start as showing the beginning of his demolition mission.
Can we just appreciate the stupid amount of detail of a single scene's background music??? (3:30) When Andre *tries* to destroy the statue, it sounds like a *failed* guitar string It was revealed that little Arzon stopped the attack and the music turns to a small flute as a way to focus on him. The music quickly changes back to electric guitar to emphasize how pissed Andrea just got from yet another person in his way. GG interferes with soft piano keys and his signature gentle guitar strings as he pulls the pen away from the hammer only for the guitar music to scramble back into focus to toss GG aside As the statue falls from GG's back hitting it, Arzon floats the statue away, the two music keys (flute and piano) mix together into something else (like a keyboard electronic music) as they have a common goal And finally the music cuts into the real song, Rock Ain't Dead as Andre, the Rock Hard Gladiator, destroys the statue Arzon just tossed. This is Andre's theme This was his boss fight *And he was not going down easily.*
Great description, I'd like to add I think it's cool how Andre's hammer was stylised to look like speakers to give him a stronger association with his electric guitar (and "rock") motif.
Coming back to this scene at 7:29 after watching story #8. When Andre hits the ground, there appears a "pinkish explosion", and after the dust settles, an X mark is left on the ground and a faint hellish echo. In story #8, this also happened when the dragon-man gets killed in the snow. The ground opens in an X mark, demonic sounds, and a purplish hue comes out from below, taking him in.
Wow, you’re right. It’s so fast you barely notice it when watching at regular speed. Good catch, I wonder if this has any implications for the universe at large here. Maybe an “underworld” for the deceased or forgotten stick figure fighters?
Andre: destroying the arena to end the unnecessary murders and violence Arzon: trying to preserve the RHG's legacy GG: *bitch gimme back my glow-in-the-dark magic pen*
From what I can tell from the story, Stone wants to destroy the symbols that represent RHG because he doesn’t want people to cause bloodshed by fighting for glory and entertainment in coliseums anymore. He feels like he made a mistake by being one of the founders of all this and is trying to destroy what he essentially created. However, Gildedguy and Arzon got to where they are today because of people they look up to like Alfa and Nhazul, and they believe that they should cherish those monuments in honor of the RHG members. I’m guessing the red teardrop in Stone’s eyes represents the want for destruction, and the green one in both Gildedguy’s and Arzon’s represents the want for preservation/continuation! I love how you can tell such an intricate story in each one of these animations without any dialogue.
Adding on to this: I'm sure that GG and Arzon want to show that the new generation doesn't have to fight to *kill* anymore. I'm sure that the fights are more interesting than the deaths themselves, so it's perfectly fine to still fight without killing and that's what the new generation wants to do: forgo the bloodshed, and just have fun with each other.
the red teardrop may just be his desire to just give up on his legacy and dreams.. to let it all burn. Note that it appears also in the eyes of both of the characters he essentially defeated here: Gildedguy after stabbing his arm, and the blue character I don't know at the start. I think it has more with giving up on gladatorial fighting than a want for destruction.
One more thing, when Andre holds up the RHG contract, it was bloodied. It was a blood contract. The nature of old RHGs was for the gladiators to kill each other, or fight until death. That is why I think Andre is so vengeful against everything and anything RHG -- The very coliseum had him survive through a bloodied battlefield where his friends kill each other until only he remains.

i love how there's a sort of hidden lore to Stick fights and RHG that GildedGuy sprinkles in for those viewers who've been there since the beginning when stick fights were still new
andre in this story demonstrates that legacy is as much a blessing as it can be a curse. in spite of the pain that having a legacy can bring, though, preserving it's history is more valuable than anything, so that the next generation can learn from your experiences and one day carry the torch in your place. i truly mean it when i say that this animation is an incredible feat for the whole team, gil. your creative ingenuity is unlike anything else in the community, and the stories you tell through visuals alone are incredibly thoughtful and lush with detail every time. just as gil and arzon demonstrate their respect for their predecessors here, this community shares that same love and respect for your work in turn. thank you so much for all that you do ♡
@@antonitocotter447 gues its just that he's tried of it all... all he built, or more accurately was built around him. They idolized him, while in his own eyes? He is just a killer that did it all out of bloodlust. And doesnt help that his legacy led to many more deaths.
@@antonitocotter447 I understand is that Andre only see the bloodbath of what RHG was. All the legendary fighters who perish and the nothing left. Andre represents de nihilist perspective of what RHG was, Arzon and Gildeguy represents the fighter's spirit that guide all of this charactes in the past and the continuation of this. The one who regret his past, the new generation who get inspired for the legacy of the greatest ones
@@TheRagnaZero yeah that's pretty much my take as well!!! most of the original RHGs within "canon" are either dead or retired, and i imagine that loss of that caliber is just a huge burden on andre's shoulders, as he's one of the few left (within the stellapent cier continuity). i think regardless of if he escaped or died at the end of this story, the point being made is that arzon and gil were able to show to him that people can still fight with compassion and honor, and the RHG legacy is worth protecting despite it's scars. i think this was him passing on that torch, as previously described
I love how Gildedguy fights, you can tell he isn’t a trained knight, he’s a painter. He can’t stand on the same level as Andre and so the level of strength and skill is put on full display. Gildedguy is a painter that happens to wear knight armor and a sword, and so he is more of a brawler, yet his fights always end in him “winning” because it was never a fight, Gildedguy is trying to reach into the characters he is “fighting” and save them. Not destroy them. Thank you Michael for creating such a wonderful world and character, and sharing it with the world:
This right here: gilded never tries to KILL them unless it’s absolutely necessary like with bog, and even then he managed to make bog realize kindness is a real thing
@@benjaminizquierdo4700 Bog’s morality will never change, Gildedguy didn’t beat him by simply showing compassion or kindness, he out-bested him through mental fortitude rather than physical strength. Bog simply gave up fighting him since he just kept coming back after every beatdown, almost to the point where Gildedguy’s mental state almost overpowered him.
I think it's even more complex than that. Gildedguy animations are laden heavy with metaphor and symbolism, I'm pretty sure (especially after seeing story 0) that in gildedguy's world, art IS fighting.
Oh my god, 4 months later and there's still details that are new to me: There's 4 frames of the Green-Eyed Cowboy starting with the frame right before 7:00 It's REALLY brief but you can definitely tell because of the all-green sclera and the signature grin This animation is amazing
I like the detail that Gildedguy was tired, but Andre was still fully energized and battling. I like it because it helps you understand that Andre comes from a time where he had to constantly be able to fight, or else he WAS going to DIE. It's not so much the case for duelists like Gildedguy and Arzon. He comes from a rougher generation, that alone puts him above the two and this perfectly demonstrated that.
Well he still seemed pretty energetic to me, especially considering he was the first attacker and the most offensive in the beginning parts of the fight. If he was really that tired initially, he would've played more defense to conserve energy. Plus he got that electricity boost. That's gotta count for something, right?
@@vambatgod547 He's referring to him getting more worn out as the battle went on pretty quickly, while Andre stayed fresh throughout GildedGuy has like no energy by the end of his fights in the other animations too
Even after over a year after seeing this on debue, everything about this glorious & truely golden person still amazes me. Your animation is just so fluid & expressive, the characters feel incredibly lovable, and I love the subtleness in narrative portrayed in these videos. The RHG legacy still continues, it's just up to us to continue the legacy. As old creators leave, new ones come in. As the song in this animation stated itself: "Rock's not dead"
i love how they each are represented by a different instrument, Gilded is piano, Arzon is flute, and Andre is guitar, 2:29 is the best example of this. Arzon does the pose and the flute plays, air rushes at Gilded and camera pans out showing both of them, once the camera focused on Gilded the piano plays, gauntlet shoots at Arzon as piano plays, the second Arzon is on screen the flute plays again, gauntlet flys through air and as soon as Andre catches it a guitar plays, guitar continues as Andre is on screen, then Gilded is on screen being excited and piano plays again, Andre stops them and guitar keeps playing as we are focused on Andres actions even when Gilded and Arzon are on screen, Gilded notices Arzon gone and piano plays to the action of Gilded before panning back to Andre as guitar plays, hammer gets blocked as all instruments stop, flute plays as soon as the camera see's its Arzon, SO WELL DONE OMG I LOVE THE USE OF INSTRUMENTS IN THIS VIDEO SO SO MUCH (sorry for the super long comment lol)
8:23 i always come back to GG's videos. Partially for the absolutely balls to the walls animation he's capable of. But mainly because of storytelling like this. As someone who didn't have internet to enjoy RHG during it's prime, it's impressive how I understand everything that it meant to these characters without any dialogue. But this part that I stamped is easily the most important part of the video. Preserving the arena that meant so much to GG and Arzon. While preventing further bloodshed with Andre's iconic weapon. Amazing storytelling GG I love your videos. And I wish nothing but the best for you and your future
The animation and artwork is beautiful. Not to mention those nostalgic nods and tributes to RHG hitting me right in the feels. I can't even begin to describe how much it warms my heart to see the references to Chuck vs Alfa. Some salty water damn near escaped my tear ducts when they crafted the wind-powered boost sword and flew off. Great work to everyone involved and I'm looking forward to what comes next!
Literally one of the coolest animators I've seen on the platform. It is astounding how you don't have more than a million subscribers right now. EDIT: After watching the animation, I can 100% say that Gildedguy is definitely one of the coolest animators ever. Let's also remember that Gildedguy didn't make this animation alone. With the help of Kap, Rebonkulous, Voroxzii, Boks, Soapy, Sareth, Oxob, and Powermeep, this animation has became one of the best.
I SCREECHED SO LOUD THE WHOLE VIDEO. Everytime I watch one of your animations I keep asking myself how on earth do you keep getting better. This one hits hard in the nostalgia for me, the fact I could name every single character in this had me yelling the whole time. Your angles and smoothness is so good. This is a love letter to what the RHG was and I was filled with emotion the entire way through Also that picture at the end was illegal and I will pursue legal action against this clear assault to my feelings and damaged soul. You're incredible. Keep rockin'
This is a nostalgia overload. I loved growing up and watching the old RHG videos on Stickpage and I'm so glad their legacy is living on in amazing animators like you. Great work.
As someone who's been an advocate for Stick Figure Media since 2009. I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate this animation! It's such a phenomenal love letter to everyone whos participated and supported RHG. Makes me wish I was that kiddish 11 year old watching stick figures fight to the death on a computer again. But as this story has taught us, all good things must come to an end. The old move on while the new takes its place, Thank you so much for creating this GG! This experience will forever be in my heart!
There's two things I noticed that I haven't seen anyone talk about yet and both things go to show the level of intense attention to detail that goes into every single one of GG's animations. Firstly, I looked up the song's lyrics, and the song is generally about people saying rock is dead and too different, with the music replying that there's "New bands everyday, more than we have ever seen", and that mirrors the community too. Even though so many of the old animators have retired or stopped posting, and the familiar icons we're all used to aren't really around now, the community is still alive and well and because of their inspiration, there are more animators today than there has ever been. Secondly, on first watch, Andre's eyes have that little blood drop in them a lot, giving him that aura of bloodlust like he can't be stopped. But rewatching it, almost every time, the blood drop in his eye has a cross over it, he's not full of bloodlust, he's desperately trying to end all the bloodshed and the history of it. The only exceptions being just before he splits his hammer apart and when he pins GG to the floor by stabbing him. I'm not sure about the first one, but the latter definitely feels like Andre is conveying that he has gone through all of the death and survived by being just as brutal, and maybe the blood drops in GG's eye represent him beginning to understand Andre's point of view. Right at the end, when Arzon is reaching for Andre as he falls to the arena below, Andre's eyes lose the crossed out blood icon as he smashes into the floor. This could mean a lot of things, namely him seeing that he doesn't need to keep doing what he's doing because people like GG and Arzon are better than the tournament-based murder fest RHG was. I also think that it may have faded out because Andre felt there needed to be one more death, and accepted it as he fell to (potentially) his death. This is all just overanalysis potentially but with the amount of detail and effort that goes into every single frame it's so hard for me not to talk about it. I don't think I need to say that you smashed it out of the park yet again Gilded but you did, I look forward to watching this over and over again until your next project!!!!!
I think your right on the money. Right after Andre stabs GG, his eyes glint red as if to say 'you have no idea how much death I've seen', to which Gilded guy briefly gains the same blood drop eyes and stops struggling.
It's worth noting that the red blood drop resembles a reversed version of the blue FluidAnims icon, the origin of RHG. When Gildedguy and Arzon take off à la FLLFFL, the sword skewers the arena's FluidAnims banner, which at 6:58 becomes Gildedguy's new cape. The legacy passed on to the new generation is not that of blood, but that of the original spirit of RHG. It's an ingenious visual metaphor unique to stick figure animation history.
@@q-tek8349 Good catch!! I didn't even think about that angle! God, not even a single frame goes without some insane symbolism or callback, it's incredible.
I am still confused what is happening why did Andre grab the green pen that GG uses I see the green particles on the hammer when he attacks does it makes it more powerful or what?
@@TheGuyThatIsBored. it was shown to do a lot. It looks like it’s being propelled with rockets or something when he destroys one of the statues, allows him to move both the handle and hammer separately with his mind or something, and lets him fly.
Absolutely amazing. I notice more and more cool details on every rewatch and it's so cool to see Gildedguy work together with another fighter for the first time. Probably my second favourite of your animations after Gildedguy VS Bog. I just wish I'd had the chance to watch it on its premiere. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to rewatch it for the 20th time.
THIS. IS. AWESOME! Worth the wait! My windy boi is back in action after years of absence! I just want to say a big thank you to Gildedguy for featuring Arzon in this story. Thanks for making him return in style while i'm unable to (at the moment). It's a dream come true, i'm in tears. Your series is the best stickman series i've ever watched. It truly inspires me to make epic stories for Arzon. I also want to give thanks to the production team. You guys rock! I do have a plan of what Arzon is going next after and before this Looking forward to Story #8!
Seeing Arzon emulate Nhazul so fervently was something I was absolutely not expecting but extremely loved, such a cheerful guy! As Nhazul was my favourite RHG from back in the day, I was giggling like an idiot lol. The way both Arzon and Gildedguy bonded over a shared passion over these highly influential gladiators, and proudly showcased that passion when facing off Andre and his tragic views towards his own legacy and that of his friends was such a joy. Maybe it's strange for me to say this as an observer at the moment and not an animator, but if I may, I believe the future looks bright with eager folks like you and Gildedguy's team who stand on the shoulders of giants to take up the torch in places like Hyun's Dojo to spread happiness abound. Wishing you both great success in your animation journeys ahead!
Planting Andre's hammer into the middle of the arena serves two purposes: It preserves the arena and serves as a monument to the warriors of old, like Gilded and Arzon wanted... ...and it prevents it from being used as a battle arena ever again, like Andre wanted.
@@karlhnedkovsky5214 Andre wanted to destroy all the arenas that held RHGs is to ensure that no one can utilize it as a source of entertainment because he felt that his legacy had brought nothing but bloodshed and death. He was the first to create the concept and saw what it had brought. He lost so many of his friends that competed in RHGs to the point that he hates it for what it had brought to people and wanted to end the legacy he started that caused all of this.
His hammer also serves as a tribute to Andre's backstory, his hammer was originally founded in the rubble of the colosseum when he first start his journey.
I still love how accurately andre is represented here, his fighting style with how quickly he attacks with the hammer and his tendency to spin it is far more accurate to stone's animations than most interpretations
Gilded Guy looks so tired compared to the other combatant. I’m wondering if he’s okay, since this is right after his last fight, which was freaking epic. EDIT: I couldn't edit this comment on the ipad so I edit it now lol. I post here what I responded with in the replies: "This was commented before the vid actually went up, but man am I worried about how little ink that magic pen has left. Given the context of Story 0, the next animation seems like it’s supposed to be the end of this adventure of his."
A great moment I haven't seen anyone else remark on: At 7:12, when Gildedguy sword-jets into Andre, Andre sees the blue exhaust and, for a brief moment, is left astonished with the red blood drop gone from his eyes. Andre sees that while FLLFFL may be physically dead, he lives on in spirit through the next generation.
@@FacelessNoob_77 To add on to what people have already said, FLLFFL is a stylized spelling of Alfa (FL L F FL), so every now and then someone spells the character’s name as Alfa. He was animated by Terkoiz, a legend in the stick fight community, and is considered one of the most prolific, archetypal, and famous RHGs ever
7:04 nhazul appearing for 1 frame while arzon is doing his pose is legendary, gildedguy and his insane attention to detail is as always🔥🔥🔥 edit: SAW ALFA TOO DURING GUILDEDGUY"S POSE AT 7:05 GUILDED"S THE BEST!!!!!!
11:47 This picture brings me joy. I like to think that the characters are stand ins for the animators, they hold RHG and Stone dearly their hearts, and have fond memories of their Fluidanims years
If you look at the actual picture taken, you can see that they aren't actually there. Those are just the ghosts of the animators who used to be in RHG.
@@arcaeagaming Stone created RHG and Fluidanims, Stone has long retired from animating and RHG (the competition) has been discontinued. About Fluidanims, the domain was discontinued and merged with Stickpage. Don’t get the wrong idea that Stone hated RHG, Stone, along with everyone else, loved RHG. For the sake of Story 7, Andre hates RHG for what he made, which is essentially a bloody competition for the top.
Did a little research. Andre seems to be from an era of gladiatorial combat from a series called Rock Hard Gladiators(RHG) and he, along with the other characters we see in his flashback that died, was among the fallen(Stopped posting content). He seemed to be of high renown for his time. (Edit: * For new info ) **Seems Andre is the/a founder of RHG and the reason he wants to break the arenas down is due to them becoming warped representations of what he originally wanted. In hindsight it makes sense. It explains why during the flashback Andre's expression of joy while holding his paper/in invitation to RHG gets warped to one of anger/disappointment as the paper becomes bloodied and corrupt.** It seems that Guild Guy and Arzeon are fans on the past era of fighters and heroes and through their efforts brought the restless Andre's spirit peace. The ending picture of them all together seems to give off that impression to me. All in all great homage to the fallen animators. It brought back nostalgia and got me looking at the content again. Potential Lore: Oxob was a part of the Rock Hard Coliseum as well so, with that in mind, Oxob is either very old or fought in those battles and doesn't age due to the government experiments wolverine style. (Gained new info from helpful individuals in this chat thread and comments of the video. Thank you!)
From the impression I got seeing the other comments, Andre was the founder of RHG but he lived long enough to see it become a lethal sport with a lot of bloodshed. One commenter also theorized that Andre is a Lingering spirit (based on the brief second of him as a corpse), who is being sustained by the power of the magic pen.
RHG just like dojo duel if you know hyun'dojo, but it's older than dojo duel,Stone, who created the Andre founded this activity about ten years ago,it inspired a lot of animators making stickman combat animation, and now, most of the animators who have joined the RHG have work in hyun's dojo,in the video, gildedguy showed a lot of famous stickman characters in Andre's memories like FLLFFL,Chuck,Micwizard,Terantula,Nhazul,Drift etc,Oxod is one of them but didn't retired.
To say that, that one ending in the 11:50 has all of the legends who were once my childhood, it really brings me nostalgia back when stickpage is still a thing. Thank you so much for adding this Gildedguy
Can't *believe* it took me this long to watch this... absolute art, as always. Your videos hit me in the feels in a way that not even mainstream media can touch. Fantastic work!
I think only _now_ I'm starting to realize some of these comments aren't talking about just the animations, but about something a bit bigger... As an outside view, it makes me curious. What's the gist of it?
@@palecaptainwolfkayls8499 It has to do with the history of Stick fighting animations. If you go back to the early stick fights you'll come across Rock Hard Anims which was one of the main platforms that hosted stick fight animations. Animators created what they called "rock hard gladiators" (their avatars) and would animate them fighting eachother in a sort of competition. There were some basic rules, but for the most part two animators would challenge eachother, and then they would create the stick fight. One of the founding members of this practice was Andre who Guildedguy fights in this animation. There were many other classic animators and RHG's and an entire community. Needless to say, nothing lasts forever and a lot has changed. Rock hard anims is gone, there was a new website in its place though I can't remember what happened to it, and now we have Hyuns dojo. Most of the "classic" RHG's and animators are gone for a variety of reasons. Right now, there are very few of the old guard left. Nonetheless the spirit of the old RHG battles lives on in the newer animators, Dojo duels, and much more.
@@palecaptainwolfkayls8499 Nearly forgot to mention. The stadium they fight in appears to be the same stadium from the first Guildedguy v Jade video (the one by Camila and occurs directly before Story 2). To that end, this video could also be seen as a way to explain why soo many of the older characters that you see in stories 1 - 3 are no longer there (especially for the characters in story 2)
Having Arzon and GG be compare to Nhazul and Alfa actually makes a lot sense for Andre's character. If Andre was the first, alfa would be the second than as his creator and andre creator were the ones to begin the Rhg genre. Nhazul on the other played a big role with Andre as (according to Nhazul's fandom page) he was the first one to want to diverge from the main group of rhg fighters (that I'm guessing was lead by Andre since he created it) to make his own clan. To have Arzon and GG display traits of two of the most important combatants in Rhg history and Andre's history by proxy does not sound coincidental to me. It adds a lot to Andre character and really shows that he wasn't in the moment, too focus on people he knew and regrets of his past actions.
Stone and Terkoiz both knew each other as early back as 2005 too, they even had a lot of collabs that featured FL and Andre fighting. You should check out "The Unpresented" from Stone Stick Station (his channel), it's a compilation of mostly unfinished collabs that he and Terk did back then.
Alfa might as well be his closest friend. Makes sense why Alfa's death was the only one vividly animated. His death was the most significant of them all in Andre's eyes (quite literally).
@@DawnAfternoon Yeah but to have GG and Arzon here that seem to remind Andre of both them both in styles of combat and no doubt the old youthful innocents the three had back then no doubt enraged him more but when they stoped him from finishing the destruction of RHG legacy he accepted it probebly knowing that least the new generation will hopefully not make the same mistakes he and the others did.

You can really feel that bitterness in Andre, the sense of catharsis from dismantling the Arena's. Man saw the whole world turn into a killing field, and throughout the whole video was working to dismantle that. I'm not aware of the history, but I think what ultimately gave him peace was seeing the two newcomers work together to try and stop him. Also your fight choreo is so goddamn fluid and bombastic, I love it. It really did feel like two scrappy kids against an overpowering opponent.
From what I’ve gathered, there was some sort of ginormous war that basically razed the previous society to the ground, hence why there is a lot of futuristic tech in such a small, old style world.
@@apollyonnoctis1291 Combination of all the Clan Wars, as well as the Umbrella Foundation hunting old Gladiators. Their war with the Nemisis Clan was world wide and kinda messed up the whole world lol.
I love how this potray the legacy of stick figure animation: one see it as nothing but meaningless bloodshed, and the other two see it as cool and inspiring, and both only realizes each other point of view when the battle already ended. Gildedguy magic pen is running out of ink, I hope he find a way to refill it...i'm a little bit worried about him.
Finally someone pointed out the ink. Yeah, I’m worried too. The ink is supposed to represent the artists passion, so it could be a hint that the artist is ready to bring Gildedguys story to a close.

I know it’s a year later but I had to come back and comment this as a witness to the rise and fall of the OG RHG. This is my short story on how a little community of animators who animated stick fights inspired me to learn animation for myself. Once upon a time, I was a very young kid who stumbled onto UA-cam watching Alan Becker’s animator vs animation when I came across some of my first RHG content which happened to be flfl vs chuck. I immediately fell in love with it. The fight choreography, the battle progression, the music, all of it. I would search UA-cam for hours watching anything with flfl and I would look up stick figure games to play. This actually how I found gildedguy. I played slush invaders as a kid and the game inspired me to learn and pursue animation. I am currently in college for animation game design while I do UA-cam on the side. As I found these animators, the RHG legacy began to grow. Amazing animators like Hyun, Oxob, camellia, Resh, Terkoiz, McCool, Jomm and countless others made amazing works of art and developed an entire culture around stick figure fights. Isn’t that something silly? But as the years went by, stories started to come to an end and animators switched gears and did different things. A lot of them still reside in Hyun’s Dojo and terkoiz works for Alan Becker the last I heard. RHG never really died as the community still does animation where other artists compete with their stick figures and stick figure animations stories are developed. But the founders are more or less gone and not contributing to the RHG culture. Which is not a bad thing at all. I don’t think RHG was supposed to last forever between all the animators I mentioned. It was simply a fun idea that few friends who liked to animate stick fights had. And that idea grew into the community today and is what inspired me to pursue animation. I will forever be grateful for the beauty that the founders of RHG showed us. As I said before, it still does exist with some fresh meat at Hyun’s Dojo. This animation is honestly the hardest to watch for a veteran like me. The shot of gildedguy watching the chuck vs flfl fight was basically me. But now obviously it is a bygone era that can only be remembered by a few people in the community. For the few that still remember, they will tell you the same as me that it was the time of our lives here for the stick-figure-fighting community. Thank you all who contributed to some of my favorite childhood memories. I feel it is my duty to create something worthy of the RHG legacy in my career as an animator. Thank you for the memories❤️

Gildedguy is an inspiration to all of us, just like the guys that came before him. I actually cried halfway through the fight. Another wonderful masterpiece
A bit late to this, I suppose. But to me, this is one of Gilded's works that hits closest to home. I have seen both sides of this battle. The fresh face, inspired by those that came before, and the elder, moved on and barely remembered among those on Hyuns Dojo. Admittedly, I was never a legend like Gilded or Stone. I never created amazing works for people to marvel at. My role was to help people achieve their dreams of duelling, to build a world they could play in, and to create events and quests for them to explore. But I've not been active on the dojo for...well, a long time now. The quests I crafted ended years ago, and my work is sure to be the foundation of a greater world built atop it. Yet, I find myself not mourning the time I spent, the things I made...but the people lost. My generation on the Dojo was...odd. Confrontational. Judgemental. But there were many good people, enjoyable moments, and the fact many of those people have left and I'll likely never see them again...like Andre, that's what hurts. That they felt it time to move on. And to you, Gilded: It's been a long time. I doubt you remember me. But I remember you, every time we spoke, every advice you gave and every question I answered. I treasure those. So please, continue on. Be the legend I never could. Lead a generation I am no lonfer part of. And good luck. Naitoshadou, signing off.
This is the definition of quality over quantity, Gildedguy's animation and story gets better than the last, this was very fun too considering its a 2v1 compared to the usual 1v1, and a lot brighter tones compared to the last few which is really refreshing I'm really looking forward to the next, can't wait to see who it'll be :)))
@@bujaneta remember the release date trailer for story 0? There was a countdown with numbers modeled both after past and future stories with the number ten being pink and futuristic, signifying yupia's presence. I think you're definitely right!
It's so sad how Andre was the first RHG, but all his friends are gone. That is the main reason why he is so angry and sad. Andre's eyes are like blood drops, just goes to show how rhg was meant to be fun but turned violent.
some of the most talented animators ive ever, and probably WILL ever see. My respect for you and everyone who worked on this is beyond its maximum. They even got my boy Arzon in here!
Gilded is tired and that tiredness is deserved because he's been through the absolute ringer lately. He fought Bog, didn't recover properly, almost got possessed by part of his psyche, then fought Oxob, which kind of forced him to heal but also lost him his most precious possession, and now he's fighting one of his heroes who also happens to be an RHG legend. And his pen is almost out of paint.
I'm guessing the metaphor behind the magic goo in the pen is inspiration/motiviation? Literally speaking, the drawing pen is what creates and tells these animated stories, and from what I gathered in GG's origin story (him turning coins in to beautiful pieces of artistry, as well as him just drawing late at nights), I think it's the metaphor for creativity or something alike. I predict the next story will be something about continuing on with your passion despite feeling the burnout that comes from it. Maybe like a lesson in taking breaks, or taking care of yourself so you don't run out of creative juices. Maybe even a life lesson about lessening the pressure on yourself with the help of your nakamas? (aka other animators helping out). Well, no matter what comes next, I know it will be great! Keep up the good work, I really love how you push yourself to improve with every animation you do. Reminds me a lot about always trying to one up your last paintings with the next. Thank you for the awesome animation!11!!1!1
I love how I have rewatched this at least 9 times in the last week and I am STILL finding little bits of animation that show how traumatized Andre was by RHG, and how much Arzon and GildedGuy are massive fanboys(Kinda cute TBH) I especially love the eyeplay, with the blooddrop, green eyes, green blooddrop/teardrop and other ones. It truly shows the persons allignment or belief in that moment and how much Andre was affected by RHG its actions, even though he ends up being happy GG and Arzon only see the beauty in it. I also wanna say I am excited to see where GildedGuys story goes next, can't wait for Story #8
4:47 i love this one little small scene, just reminding us what all this once was years ago. just simple and innocent stickfigure animation. its so amazing to see how far the hyun’s dojo/ rhgladiators have evolved
Gildedguy's animations are extremely high quality in their own right, but I think what pushes them over the top for me is their unique connection to stick figure animation community and universe that allows GG to tell stories in unique ways. For example, the classic-style stick fight scene in Story #5 communicates a point about jealousy in a way that can't be fully replicated without the context of stick animation history. This animation takes this unique setting and makes it the basis of the entire story. I love it. I just hope that future stories will remain connected to the broader RHG/Duelist/Stick figure world.
@@q-tek8349 gilded’s animations are one of a kind, i dont think youd be able to find any other hyuns dojo animation that ISNT just stickfigures. its so cool to see his animations and storytelling get better and even more interesting over the years correction: any other animation about the hyun’s dojo lore (idk how to phrase it)
Looking back at it the RHG and it's legacy was a sight to behold. But Andre also saw that as a curse that led to endless bloodshed and fighting. Leaving very few fighters left who eventually left on new paths. Left behind a broken legacy that just wasn't meant to be.
i cry sometimes while watching this i must admit. Me and a few friends have been working on an RHG tribute and seeing this right now when our project is so close to completion there is something super cathartic. Especially in an animators point of view, seeing Gilded's inspirations from Terkoiz FLLFFL shine through and the niche references is just so dope.
I'd like to point out that Andre is able to process and shut down Gilded's sword tomfoolery mere MOMENTS after it's first used in the fight. It's just little things like that which make it much more obvious he's leagues above the two in terms of experience and probably would've won if he'd just kept fighting.
The Gladiators of old vs the Duelists of today. I so very much like the interpretation that *The RHG Tournaments* were just so much more extreme compared to the Dojo Duels. It's even in the name: Gladiators vs Duelists. So similar yet with a hard contrast on what the title entails.
It’s so cool seeing this be a tribute to old inspirations and animators of stick fighting and how those inspirations mean a lot to new ones, even if it’s the end of how RHG fights were before
i love how it is the guy who experienced fighting in the areas is the one who is destroying them, while the gilded guy and the young one are trying to save it. guided guy and the white one grew up with them as their heros so they want to save the arena, while the gladiator guy has experienced the horrors of the arena and wants no one else to suffer from it. normally movies and stories like to show the young "enlightened ones" doing the right thing

Oh, Thanks for telling

Is he dead???
@@dreamedcar12345 no he was shown in the end as the old dud
Hey, i would like to ask
How is the creator of Andre doing? is he still alive?, is he doing alright?
@@northernalpine4350 i dunno, but in the website it is said he is retired
Great analysis. I like this interpretation
Hey do you think you can drop a link to the video?
I like to think that that the star gildedguy always looks at represents passion in creativity which is why it's such an important symbol in his series
Nah they panicked because they accidentally tossed a glove at him, a custom gladiators use to challenge each other to fight.
I also love Arzon’s face in that moment, is so funny
But yeah it’s some very big stuff, when watching live I couldn’t process the whole Andre flashback but now that I can pause and analyze all I can call this one of the more deep Gildedguy stories
wow.
I guess that's why FLLFL (Or Alfa) said he was done with killing after one of his RHG's.. Well, until he got his shit rocked by Umbrella..
@@smileyfaceproductions7477 yo guys did you know about the captions?
Gotta love how andre actually *feels* experienced and like a strategist in battle, goind on the defensive at first since he doesn't know what they can do yet, keeping some cards under his sleeve just in case, like the lighting, and not using it anymore after seeing that GG can control it. Genius choreography
Also the double block he did, using his forearm to block Arzon's blunt wind attack and his hammer's handle to block Gilded's blade, was MASTERFUL. They really managed to get the pure skill gap across without letting Andre ruin them completely.
fico feliz de saber ninguém desistiu do andre para ele ainda continuar lutando.
Woah
Cool
that choreography was definitly genious, look how Arzon uses Gildedguy gloves to fire them using air at the end of the fight, he probably learned that after punching some air by mistake at gildedguy's face, and just saw the glove going to HEAVENS lol
2:31 (he saw it)
7:08 (he uses it)
So many memories here. Seeing that they are worthy.
so that's what happened
Yeah and it seems Arzon and GG are like the newer versions of Nhazul and FLLFFL with there stances and techiques
Ooh, I love this interpretation! I think Andre 100% has survivor's guilt

Oh, then my comment was a little off. 😅
I've watched this probably 100 times by now, and I've only just noticed that the fluidanims banner was stuck to the sword during the air sequence, and once Gildedguy attaches the green pen, he also wears that banner as a cape
The attention to detail never ceases to amaze me. You and the team are absolutely incredible and I look forward to the premiere of Story 8!

The last animation, story 0, was great because it could be appreciated by anyone, it was a great tale of following your dreams, taking risks and not compromising on what's important to you.

Hello, could you tell me where to see the story that came out in the flash back?
@@maxtel22 If you follow all the records of the clans and duel of each RHG you will be able to see the vids but not everything is what you see int he flashbacks.
@@bleyk36 Thanks
This story really hits so much andre wanted to destroy the arena so nobody else idolize it and uses it as a way for entertainment, he lost so many friends to the point he despises it, his only goal was to destroy what was meant to be destroyed in the first place which is a really understandable thing to do considering how the arena does nothing but uses people killing each other as entertainment
imagine being the guy who built the statues tho some ghost ass mf just comes and messes shit up because hes pissy about his friends or something
Yeah he has seen so much bloodshed that it's the only thing rhg reminds him of.
You can see it with his eyes being drops of blood
But that's also wrong, he was tired of the bloodshed for the wrong reason. That's why when he infects GG it's GG's passion and memory of the fights that reignite him and cause him to rise up and show what the new generation of stickfigure (animator) can do, and how the old generation inspired everything that's happening now ^.^
Thank you for describing the message of this perfectly for me

5:23 You know, somehow, I never noticed that the arena itself was laid out like Gilded's star. So many 'blink and you'll miss it' moments.
Also as an aside, man this animation was awesome, I especially loved the little first-person bit since it showed just *how* much more skilled Andre was and just how little chance Gilded and Arzon were from the beginning.
replying to boost comment, holy moly i never thought of that!

When Andre *tries* to destroy the statue, it sounds like a *failed* guitar string
It was revealed that little Arzon stopped the attack and the music turns to a small flute as a way to focus on him.
The music quickly changes back to electric guitar to emphasize how pissed Andrea just got from yet another person in his way.
GG interferes with soft piano keys and his signature gentle guitar strings as he pulls the pen away from the hammer only for the guitar music to scramble back into focus to toss GG aside
As the statue falls from GG's back hitting it, Arzon floats the statue away, the two music keys (flute and piano) mix together into something else (like a keyboard electronic music) as they have a common goal
And finally the music cuts into the real song, Rock Ain't Dead as Andre, the Rock Hard Gladiator, destroys the statue Arzon just tossed.
This is Andre's theme
This was his boss fight
*And he was not going down easily.*
Yes and this was on a budget too

Coming back to this scene at 7:29 after watching story #8. When Andre hits the ground, there appears a "pinkish explosion", and after the dust settles, an X mark is left on the ground and a faint hellish echo.
Adding on to this:
I'm sure that GG and Arzon want to show that the new generation doesn't have to fight to *kill* anymore. I'm sure that the fights are more interesting than the deaths themselves, so it's perfectly fine to still fight without killing and that's what the new generation wants to do: forgo the bloodshed, and just have fun with each other.
The drop also mirrors the FluidAnims logo, which actually becomes Gildedguy's cape near the end
the red teardrop may just be his desire to just give up on his legacy and dreams.. to let it all burn. Note that it appears also in the eyes of both of the characters he essentially defeated here: Gildedguy after stabbing his arm, and the blue character I don't know at the start. I think it has more with giving up on gladatorial fighting than a want for destruction.
I think that the teardrop eye signifies RHG association. You can see Nhazul has it as well at 4:22
One more thing, when Andre holds up the RHG contract, it was bloodied. It was a blood contract. The nature of old RHGs was for the gladiators to kill each other, or fight until death. andre in this story demonstrates that legacy is as much a blessing as it can be a curse. in spite of the pain that having a legacy can bring, though, preserving it's history is more valuable than anything, so that the next generation can learn from your experiences and one day carry the torch in your place. i truly mean it when i say that this animation is an incredible feat for the whole team, gil. your creative ingenuity is unlike anything else in the community, and the stories you tell through visuals alone are incredibly thoughtful and lush with detail every time. just as gil and arzon demonstrate their respect for their predecessors here, this community shares that same love and respect for your work in turn. thank you so much for all that you do ♡
True but.... that doesn't answer one question........ why was he destroying that Legacy to begin with............?
Maybe it was a burden for the guy
This right here: gilded never tries to KILL them unless it’s absolutely necessary like with bog, and even then he managed to make bog realize kindness is a real thing
except for the chief, he burnt a perfectly backed bacon
and such actions should not go unpunished
@@benjaminizquierdo4700 Bog’s morality will never change, Gildedguy didn’t beat him by simply showing compassion or kindness, he out-bested him through mental fortitude rather than physical strength. Bog simply gave up fighting him since he just kept coming back after every beatdown, almost to the point where Gildedguy’s mental state almost overpowered him.
I think it's even more complex than that. Gildedguy animations are laden heavy with metaphor and symbolism, I'm pretty sure (especially after seeing story 0) that in gildedguy's world, art IS fighting.

Oh you there lol
Oh look, it's Shuriken!! :D
IT’S SHURIKEN
Yo shuriken! Also hi future people looking at comments!
Ofc gilded guy was tired this was just after his fight with oxob
Well he still seemed pretty energetic to me, especially considering he was the first attacker and the most offensive in the beginning parts of the fight. If he was really that tired initially, he would've played more defense to conserve energy. Plus he got that electricity boost. That's gotta count for something, right?

Yep, although it is strange because Jade comes from the same era but she seems much weaker than Andre and any duelist from the RHG era.
Even after over a year after seeing this on debue, everything about this glorious & truely golden person still amazes me. Your animation is just so fluid & expressive, the characters feel incredibly lovable, and I love the subtleness in narrative portrayed in these videos.

As the song in this animation stated itself:
"Rock's not dead"
You've gotten my mind blown. The song title. Good on you.
i love how they each are represented by a different instrument, Gilded is piano, Arzon is flute, and Andre is guitar, 2:29 is the best example of this.
Didn't even realize until you said it
I find it more as Gilded being piano, Arzon being flute, Andre being electric guitar and the colosseum itself being an acoustic guitar.

@@MR-oo5gy shhhhh. im trying to keep a low profile.
So who wants to do a renaissance
@@Randomowl1 He also briefly molds into a walking corpse as Gildedguy sees his perspective
God, not even a single frame goes without some insane symbolism or callback, it's incredible.
note that the blood drop is similar to the fluidanims logo
G.G didn't use his crazy sword attack (where the sword goes everywhere) because he had an ally that would get hurt in the process. Strategy = 1000
I am still confused what is happening why did Andre grab the green pen that GG uses
I see the green particles on the hammer when he attacks does it makes it more powerful or what?
@@TheGuyThatIsBored.well if the dude cant fly without the pen in the hammer then ofc it makes it powerful
@@TheGuyThatIsBored. it was shown to do a lot. It looks like it’s being propelled with rockets or something when he destroys one of the statues, allows him to move both the handle and hammer separately with his mind or something, and lets him fly.

Planting Andre's hammer into the middle of the arena serves two purposes:
It preserves the arena and serves as a monument to the warriors of old, like Gilded and Arzon wanted...
...and it prevents it from being used as a battle arena ever again, like Andre wanted.
I didn't quite get, why Andre was trying to destroy the place's legacy, though.
@@karlhnedkovsky5214 Andre wanted to destroy all the arenas that held RHGs is to ensure that no one can utilize it as a source of entertainment because he felt that his legacy had brought nothing but bloodshed and death.

@@athingwhichexists which surprised me that a new fighter has appeared

I can't believe it's been two years since this stunning animation. I remember watching the premier in school now I'm sitting my HSC, how time flies.

I think most if not everyone on this Earth can say these animations are the best
My big brother would have loved this one. My brother is the reason I got into the RHG animations, creators and characters dating back to fluidanims. FLLFFL being my top favorite..my older brother lost his battle last year to cancer and this made me feel closer to him then I have since his passing. We bonded over RHG and the animations, his favorite being yoyo and Chuck, mine being FLLFFL and Jomm...thank you so much for making this and the story this truly made me feel comfort

Gildedguy is an inspiration to all of us, just like the guys that came before him. I actually cried halfway through the fight. Another wonderful masterpiece
Yeah man, rhg was cool

I never knew his pen can run out of paint
@@mysticraven755no no no, it’s been a strangely shaped magic rock this whole time, you can NOT tell it’s actually a bottle.

The story and animation is unbelievable. this is what people call a masterpiece 👏
I think the old man at the end is Andre I mean all the old fighters are behind him
I love how I have rewatched this at least 9 times in the last week and I am STILL finding little bits of animation that show how traumatized Andre was by RHG, and how much Arzon and GildedGuy are massive fanboys(Kinda cute TBH)
I especially love the eyeplay, with the blooddrop, green eyes, green blooddrop/teardrop and other ones.
@@q-tek8349 gilded’s animations are one of a kind, i dont think youd be able to find any other hyuns dojo animation that ISNT just stickfigures. its so cool to see his animations and storytelling get better and even more interesting over the years
correction: any other animation about the hyun’s dojo lore (idk how to phrase it)
Just noticed that "Rock's not dead" can actually symbolize Stone (Andre's creator) not being dead from the community. That's badass.
Also because *Rock* Hard Gladiators never died, they left a legacy.
Gildedguy and Arzon fanboying over the old RHGs and forming a friendly bond with each other is something I never thought I needed in my life.

I'd like to point out that Andre is able to process and shut down Gilded's sword tomfoolery mere MOMENTS after it's first used in the fight. It's just little things like that which make it much more obvious he's leagues above the two in terms of experience and probably would've won if he'd just kept fighting.
I also like to interpret that the only reason he didn’t keep fighting was because he didn’t want to risk taking it as far as he did during RHG
i love how after gilded used the lightning against him he knew not to sue anymore
The Gladiators of old vs the Duelists of today.
I so very much like the interpretation that *The RHG Tournaments* were just so much more extreme compared to the Dojo Duels. It's even in the name: Gladiators vs Duelists. So similar yet with a hard contrast on what the title entails.
He kept his eyes on the objective. He was there to tear down the monuments to murder, not add a couple kids to the pile.
He was holding back from the start. He wasn't fighting to kill. If he was this fight would have gone very differently.
It’s so cool seeing this be a tribute to old inspirations and animators of stick fighting and how those inspirations mean a lot to new ones, even if it’s the end of how RHG fights were before
It's the brief simplistic stick figure animations (compared to Gilded's stylization) that does it for me
i love how it is the guy who experienced fighting in the areas is the one who is destroying them, while the gilded guy and the young one are trying to save it. guided guy and the white one grew up with them as their heros so they want to save the arena, while the gladiator guy has experienced the horrors of the arena and wants no one else to suffer from it. normally movies and stories like to show the young "enlightened ones" doing the right thing
