Nice video. Did you see any other UA-cam Channels there? BTW, next year you can park at my place. I am a couple miles from the start and you can see the trail from my property. It's just a short walk around the corner to be trail side. Yes, definitely contact me for next year. we can do a bon fire and the works out on the local lake.
Thank you for sharing I love seeing the Iditarod!!! I saw it finishing in Nome a few years back it was awesome!! It was especially awesome seeing a family friend finish close to first!! If you all down the road have a chance to go to Nome to see it finish it is cool the best part there isn't a swarm of people like it is there in Willow.
Thank you for taking us along for the start! I saw where one of the contestants had to shoot a moose that was attacking his dog team.. Great experience and vid.
Okay but like do you really care if its a race? I worked in racing and realize its important to alot of these communities if only for the tradition. But like does it NEED TO BE COMPETITIVE? Can you not envision something even cooler where they come through and give out candy to the local children or something? and all the mushers are just helpingeachother? My insider perspective is that racing just rewards all of the worst people doing the worst things. And the people in the rural villages cant really compete anyway with people who have better cheaper access to feed straw etc.
Thank you for taking us along to the race!! Reading about it in books doesn't do it justice! Keep bumping along on the sled, and baby might want to make an early appearance. Ha ha!
Great video. All dog owners understand your pain. FYI, it helps them deal with separation anxiety better if they have a comfortable crate or “den” they can wait in. If you never use the crate as “punishment” they can find it extremely comforting and soothing. Geez, snowmobiles look like so much fun!
The dog is going to be mad at you guys my little dog thinks she's supposed to go bye bye with us every where we go and she will not be happy when we return home she gives us the cold shoulder
How was the parking? How far do you park from the event? First time goer and I'm debating between taking a shuttle and losing a little freedom or driving myself and risking far parking lol
I worked at the winning level in racing and it really is filled with animal abuse. Snowmobiles are better. The Iron dog is a real freaking race. I think there could be some version of the iditarod that still runs the trail and isnt competitive. But the way it is now just rewards all of the worst people. I fed the dogs every day and stuff. And I helped training and ran the spare teams in races as needed. helped the team up to the starting line etc etc. a live in dog handler for 3 years. I had alot of prior animal and dog experience going into it as well. I know life isnt always pretty or whatever but OMG racing really is egregiously cruel. The iditarod isnt particularly bad but also it kind of is.
I flew up from Orlando to see the ceremonial start in Anchorage!
The dog sledding event was so cool to watch… thanks for sharing 🎉

When the baby comes , maybe you can extend close your front porch to become a room too .
Love that covered entry part of your A frame design. Looks like it’s even keeping the snow out.
Their is a package for the baby, and it is at the post office it's from Amazon. Many blessings

It’s not far, but we spent as much time trying to get out of the parking lot as we did watching the event.
You should’ve took the dog to go potty first before you guys left just in case you know❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am sure they did, not everything is on video
