@fandangobrandango7864 it depends on how you value your time. I value mine at minimum my hourly pay rate. It can take a good hour to cut and cook chips in an oven, and it also involves a bit of effort. Whereas you can chuck that straight in the oven or microwave and just continue with your life until it is ready. I can easily spend a tenner at the shops on each break, and that still works out better value than pissing about making it at home when I could be doing other stuff that needs seeing to e.g. actually getting a chance to relax after a long day at work

These £1 meals are great. They are only 85p at Morrisons. Not wishing to have a Microwave, I let them thaw and add any extras and cook them in the airfryer, it saves on the time in the oven. A 35-40 min dish in the oven , takes 25 in the airfryer. For the chips and curry i will add some cayenne pepper to zap 'em up and given them a bit more zest.

You Poms and your chips and curry sauce.
I understand it's a staple and favourite for many.
But here in Australia it's either chips and gravy, chips and tomato sauce, chips and chicken salt or chips and vinegar.
    But never curry sauce!
Besides, Mayflower Curry products aren't available on Aussie supermarket shelves.
    It's an online order thing.
At one stage there, McDonalds had a curry dipping sauce for the nuggets. It wasn't very popular, too sweet and too weak.

Garlic and onions are actually extremely rare allergens which is why there is no requirement to list them as allergens on the ingredients list. Strictly speaking people can have allergic reactions to anything, so they have to limit the list otherwise everything would be in bold.
A lot of people claim to be allergic to things when in fact they just have a bit of an intolerance. True allergies can be deadly

@@PotatoPirate123 They can be, but not all are - an allergy is basically an excessive immune system response to a substance. So, yes, some things people say are 'allergies' are actually 'intolerances', but many people have allergies that aren't (or aren't expected to be - obviously it can change with repeated exposure, particularly with certain types of thing) anywhere near deadly. (Hayfever, for example, is an allergic response to pollen, but it's generally mild to quite unpleasant.)

You cant go wrong for £1, chips arent cheap these days either. I like the curry sauce you get in jars at Tesco or Sainsburys which are around 45p but then you have to add the cost of the chips. I cant see these been vegetarian though, the ingredients look okay its the curry sauce no mention of what it is and no V sign on packet

I recently tried a Morrisons £3.25 chilled meal because it was reduced to clear. Dry Italian mozzarella sauce sticking the pasta strips together, with about 5 small chicken pieces. It was pretty bad, and the chicken was so tough I threw it away. I would have been really annoyed if I had paid full price. Iceland £1 ready meals are usually more reliable.

Could you do a comparison between heating meals in the oven and in the microwave for taste. Years ago I made 3 Christmas puddings. I cooked one in the microwave one in the pressure cooker and one in the old fashioned steamer. The difference was noticeable. Best the old steamer then pressure cooker last microwave. I was wondering Would the chips be soggy in the microwave?

Top tip don't ever cook food in the microwave or oven in a plastic container.. because there are more chemicals in the plastic than there are ingredients on the back of the packaging added to what ever meal is in the plastic container.. always tip the contents in a oven proof dish or a saucepan 👍and i don't even own a microwave..but that curry sauce and chips looked amazing 😋

I bought that curry sauce powder, last summer and it was great with chips. Although, I had the whole tray in about 10 days and it messed up my insides. Apart from that time, I’ve not been Iceland in over a year but I love curry chips and am deff going Iceland tomorrow. I will go easy on it this time though 😂
