About the train service:
Liberty City has two passenger train systems. One is an elevated rail system serving the Portland area, and the other is a subway system serving all three districts of Liberty City.
The Liberty City Subway is a fully underground rail line dispersed throughout all three of Liberty City's boroughs, serving as an inter-borough link. It provides convenient access to Francis International Airport with a subway station at the complex.
Stations along the subway line share close to the same entrance, concourse and platform designs, although there are a few distinctions due to the system using only one track for operational trains.
There are four stations, unnamed in GTA III but named in GTA Liberty City Stories. The stations are located in Chinatown, Torrington, Francis International Airport, and northern Staunton Island near the Liberty Campus.
The trains used by both overhead and subway lines apparently resemble those of the New York City Subway R68 trains.

Chinatown Station and Staunton South Station are always abandoned. Might be a good retreat during a police chase to catch a break and rethink your steps.
3:40 I wonder why the metro station at the airport in GTA 3 is underground, but in the GTA 4 subway it is already on the overpass? Don't you think this is some kind of inconsistency on the part of the game developers?🤔

No, it’s just bad game design. It was one thing that I was hoping they’d fix in the Definitive Edition. But then again, nothing was fixed.
