I have a red one. 2022 FXBBS. The second Harley I bought new. The last one is a 1994 FXDL with over a 100k of beating the crap out of it. Still runs. I worked for a Harley dealership for 19 years. Saw lots of bikes come and go. Never cared for the TC bikes. Never had a bike with a windshield. I'll go anywhere on my bike without one the bagger riders will go. Long haul. Been all over the east coast and southern states. This new bike is great! I waited a few years to buy an M8. 2022 is a good time. I think HD has it worked out now. Mods? Performance wise, just undo what the EPA made the factory do. Handlebars gotta go.
It's like counter steer went right out the window. I plan on getting a bar from a Soft tail Slim. Rode one, loved the bars. Looking for saddle bags I can live with, probably a seat from Whiplash, and replace the side mount license plate, hate it, with one from a 2022 Soft tail standard. And no windshield! Then I'll just ride the crap out of it and see if I can surpass the miles I put on that Evo. "Around town riding"?

I got mine a 2022 Streetbob same color. Wife picked the color i was kinda sold on the Grey Streetbob. 1st... Thing i did was a black flush mount gas cap.... 2nd thing i did was vinyl the top chrome forks.... 3rd thing until i can afford vance hine black eliminator 300's is i drilled out my baffles... 4th thing i did was a Black LED Headlight & Blinkers with Dark smoke lenses for the front and a black headlight ring. Then i added a Memphis Shade Cafe Style Faring. It's a great fun bike to ride. It doesn't even feel like it's a 600+ pound bike. I hope you enjoy it as much as i do.. Save Travels...

I have a ‘21 in black. It’s so nice to ride and does not handle like a 660 pound bike. It handles really light and it’s narrow. Perfect for lane splitting. 🤙🏻

My mate has a Street Bob I took it for a ride it’s a big difference from my roadglide, It’s so light,felt like it wanted to wheel stand all the time 🤙

Stage II with an S&S 475 cam...
Much more comfortable with forward controls !
Mine 2024 FXBBS is also blue. My priority was to enable it to be ridden, so I forsook the stage II, handle bars, etc. Instead first and foremost, my 6'1" height demanded forward controls. Second, after my first road trip, I knew I absolutely needed cruise control. Third, again a road trip absolutely requires the Holdfast Detachable Tourpak Luggage Mounting Rack along with a Rhinowalk Motorcycle bag cause I'm not backpacking it. I've done a few small things like Custom Dynamic LED lights, a black Flush Mounted Fuel Cap and a Memphis Warrior Fairing with a headlight extension. I'll save performance mods until much later. My goal right now is to pay for the dam thing.
I did the same thing. I have a 2019 Roadglide Special and bought a 2021 Street Bob for my commute to work. Of course it being a Harley I couldn’t leave it stock as was my intention. I changed the shock to a 13” Fox, 150% improvement over the stock 12” shock. Added Kraus risers and Fly Moto bars. The stock bars are ok, the diameter is too small in relation to the rest of the bike imo. It’s a great bike you are going to love it. Fast and handles like it’s on rails.

A few weeks ago I had the same thought. I put 11000 miles on my 2020 Street Glide in 13 months, so I wanted a “ round town” ride. Haven’t bought it yet, but the Street Bob 114 was the one I lean toward. Looking forward to seeing your build on this one!!! Peace brother.

I think that's a great bike, John. Good for around town riding. Good power to weight ratio. I think I would not modify it too much (probably the rear suspension) , just ride it. It's basically an entry level bike with a $15k price. Once you upgrade the motor, you'll overwork the rest of the parts, transmission, etc. Once you start upgrading, you'll have another bike too expensive to ride around. Just my two cents. I was thinking of buying that bike with a Rekluse auto shift clutch, which I'd need. Perfect for me.

Hey John, love that color. lthink it's good idea that your going to do a bulid on what l would call a enrty level bike for a for first timers. l just had a 131 kit done my 2020 CVO roadglide and l had the smart tuner installed can you or your guy that you use to do your dyno work tell me if should get my bike dyno. They are telling me that it's no nescessary. Thanks Al.

Have a 2020 RG Special and a 2021 Street Bob. Street Bob is a great compliment to the RG. Can not wait to see what you do to the bike.

Congrats, John! Every bike I've owned for the past 20 years has been blue. My current 2019 FLDE Softail Deluxe is two-tone: Midnight Blue/Barracuda Silver. You're already familiar with the M8 Softail platform having put some time and effort into the Sport Glide. To my eye, that Fastback Blue on the new Street Bob looks great. Also, you'll find that with the stock 114, the ride is already "spirited." Once you and Dave stage it up, you will have a rocket under you. Enjoy!

I got one for a second bike also it's a 2021. I put a Harley tall boy seat on it a wind vest that I had laying around adjustable levers and a Arlin Ness 15" rotor on the front.
I've always said the street bob was under rated

Very good choice going with Wood cams, and the Road Rage exhaust. It will be even faster.
Another upgrade you might consider: Suspension. Legend, among others, has upgrades for the Softails.
How many bikes do you have now? Didn’t you just get a new dirt bike? And yes, great color!

@@CYCLEFANATIX I was in there last week I seen 2 blue street bobs did you buy yours and customize it then sell it back? There was one there used with 1000 mile I’m 6-4” I just got a 48 but thinking about trading it I like the street bob more comfortable
