- *UPDATE* Thanks to some excellent Police work and the power of social media our Raptor has now been located.

Hiy'a, I follow you from the UK. Having recently retired, my wife and I will be moving soon to Thailand where I intend to buy a Raptor. Have enjoyed following your Raptor adventures and tips on the upgrades you did. As you're a lover of and, Raptor owner, I found your comments and advice more pertinent and interesting than most of the motoring journalists and their "Hey, look at me everyone...I'm testing the Raptor and I think...blah, blah".
Really sorry to hear about the house burglary and subsequent theft of your vehicle. At least no one in your family got hurt. There really are some a***holes....sorry, "grubs" in this world. It's particularly galling to know that even though covered by insurance you'll still end up out of pocket. Hope you get sorted and back behind the wheel of (a / your) Raptor soon. Not wishing to be funny but then maybe you can check out the best security systems for these vehicles.

Congratulations on the new truck! Im hearing that Ford has changed a lot of the things I felt initially were sub standard on the original release. Its looking like I may get a replacement vehicle not sure what model yet.

OMG... I'm sorry to hear about this... Hope you have good solution soon... Please, try to install GPS tracker (at least two, in the hidden place) in your another car. It's can be last defense, if someone stolen or robbed your car. Coz, you can turn off the car engine by using cellphone, as long you and your car in covered area

Absolute dirty dogs. Sorry to hear mate. Had a car stolen when I was 21 lost all my tools as an apprentice. Hopefully they catch the dogs. Problem you have then is the coppers catch em but the courts let them go. Best wishes.

Wow this happened in Australia? Im glad you guys are ok, and I hope your gear is ok. The Raptor I have mixed feelings about its recovery. It may be better if they total it so you can just get a new one. You know they are rag-gin the crap out of your truck. Can you own a shotgun, just the sound is usually enough to scare people.
Seems to be a big problem in Australia the more I look into it. We can own a good variety of equipment in Australia. I’m a 15 year Army Infantry Veteran, if they hear the sound, I’ve missed.
@@RoundTheFire Im Army Infantry Veteran also :) Im not sure about Australian laws for people breaking in when it comes to fire arms. In the states, If Identify a weapon I will disable them, weather its blowing a knee out or if they are aggressive Ill just take them out. Regardless, none of this will help with your current situation, I hate that people steal from others. I dont understand it really, if I find money on the ground,I cannot keep it. Il try and find the owner and if I cant, Ill donate it to someone. I cannot live with taking something from someone thats not mine.

Gutted for you mate. We are having a terrible time in the UK with little C****s stealing landrover defenders whole or just the doors and bonnet.
The more I look into it the more it seems to be a major issue that isn’t being made aware publicly by the authorities 🤬
@@RoundTheFire bang on there fella. The police don't seem to give a toss. Most of the parts are hard to trace back to the original vehicle so it's easy for the pricks to then sell on Ebay.

Thanks mate 👍🏻 The only way to steal a Raptor is if you have the keys...this is forcing the bad guys to break into your home or confront you on the street. They ticket would be to enhance your home and personal security to mitigate this new threat. I’ll be adding a tracking device to aid in the recovery of the vehicle if stolen but I don’t think I’ll be making that one public 👍🏻🤔
@@RoundTheFire hi mate, I know that you have the new Raptor now but it actually can be stolen. Vehicles with key less entry are one of the easiest to steal, as for example, 2 thieves go to your house, one with a reciever next to your house grabs the key's signal, and then sends it to the second receiver that acts as a key fob, then with the second receiver they unlock the car. The best way to stop this is by buying a Faraday pouch, which is made of kevlar and blocks out the signal.

Sorry about the bad news!! I suppose in hindsight if you are lucky enough to have all that money to burn on a Raptor plus all those accessorises then a Vehicle Tacker would only be a petty cash option, easy to say after the fact but suggest you get one if you have to get a new replacement Raptor.

I had something similar happen. I had a vintage BMW show car that I worked on for 13 years. I trusted the car to a shop to do a little enginee work. Shop was well respected so I gave it a shot. I went back to the shop 2 months later to find the shop had closed down and took my car with them. I never found the people who owned the shop and haven't seen my car since last year! I know the feeling and it is the worst! I still have one key to my BWM so if I see it someday I will jump back in it and reclaim it. I hope one day to have as good luck as you! But if I didn't lose the BWM I never would have bought the Ranger Raptor! So some good came out of the bad.

I think they were looking specifically for keys mate, who knows how far they would have gone to seek out the keys. My my house was the 3rd break in and 3rd car stolen in 3 days off my street.

Sad to hear Damo, mabye you have some friends that could give you a 0% interest loan to cover the losses that insurance dosen't cover and then you could make monthly payments. That way you could get back on the saddle agian with all the mods and equipment that you had before, so you can enjoy the great outdoors at the level you had before the Raptor was stolen in a short amount of time(having to pay 2 times for the mods and equipment may draw out the time for making your truck whole again and the plans you had for additional improvements).
Best case hopefully I can get the car back and fix the damage.

Sorry to hear mate - I know your pain - there really are some oxygen thiefs out there. Hope you get a new one soon. But its a pain because you spend a lot of time tinkering with your car adding stuff to it and you become attached to that particular car. Even if you did get it back it you feel as though its been violated. Hope these assholes are found and are dealt with.

Round The Fire I and everyone else in the 4WD’ing community totally understand and it’s very heartbreaking when it happens. You’ll be up and running again in no time. My truck has got a GPS tracking device hidden in it where I can view where it is at any time from an app on my phone so if they vehicle did get stolen I’d point the police in the right direction.

Sorry to hear about your raptor being stolen. It's. A constant fear we live with in my part of the world. Invest in a good GPS tracking system so you can shut it down and locate it should in case it gets stolen.

It wasn’t replaceable it wasn’t until getting a new ranger two years later I finally let go of it hopefully you can put your mind to ease a little sooner then I did all the best mate

Its not possible to steal a Raptor unless you are in physical possession of the keys, the problem now is its making car theifs break into houses first.

Wow. That's bad news. Don't the Raptors in Australia come with fordpass? In Europe this is standard factory installed? I just checked the brochure for Australian Raptors and it does not mention anything about the application and usage. I have realised that the Thai built vehicles have quite some differences than the South African models.
