Well as an update, I did purchase a full set of the XTs. I sold my Michelin Defender LT M/S tires that as you know is designed for more civil terrain applications. I found the XTs, even as aggressive as they are, to be nearly as quiet, yet provide more cushion and muting on off-road and pavement potholes than the aforementioned Michelin. Re: fuel mileage difference is seriously not noticed, yet lets say 1/2 mpg at most. In short, what a great design of being below an MT tire, yet an upgraded AT type tire that provides quietness, soft ride and all but can perform off-road when demands require them to. Very happy owner with these!

You’re interview and your customer reviews has helped me to realize the XT is a serious choice for my next tire on my 2500HD. 👍🏼Thanks.

@@tirerack thank you for your feedback. I’ve since seen two other videos, one from 4WD magazine where the reviewer was north of Vancouver (British Columbia 🇨🇦 ) in mountainous terrain (they worked awesome), and another from a UA-cam vlogger called Canadian Outdoorsman (another positive review) and then I read stories of people who wrote in to Tire Rack and have experience with many others including one I was targeting (Continental CT A/T), but now I’m really going for the XT.

Good commentary on the LE3. It’s not the kind of tire that lights up the internet but it pays the bills. I’ve had both the LE and LE2’s and just booked a set of LE3’s. The 2’s were a step above the LE but they are both excellent tires. Can’t wait to see how the LE3’s Ride on my old F-150. Cheers!

The Destination line is probably the best thing Firestone makes, although the Firehawk line and their winter tires are also very good

    7:10 - Destination XT

I’m really intrigued by the XT for its features such as tread pattern & 3PMS rating, reviews in snow, and price point. However; for a tire that’s marketed as being a heavy duty option, it’s the lightest tire I could find on the market when compared to other all terrains and even the all season tires I checked…of the same and some smaller sizes. That may be seen as an advantage to some, but does that weight loss translate into a loss of strength? I’ve reached out to Firestone & Bridgestone on the subject, and absolutely got a runaround. I was told to talk to my local dealer; well, I went straight to the source for a reason to begin with. I even reached out to Tire Rack, who acknowledged what I was noticing, and commented that it was the reason that they do not sell/recommend many XT’s compared to their competitors.

Would you recommend a Toyo AT3 over this X/T for my leveled F150? It would be an LT, 33in tire

The thing I really appreciate, and wish more dealers and manufacturers would do, is provide informative overviews of their products. This has provided so much confidence in the set of Destination AT2's that are up next on my Tundra, so much so that I'm eagerly saving up to switch out of my Nitto Terra Grapplers as soon as I can, even with a generous amount of tread left over. Thanks tire rack!
