Thanks, Doug! I have a Starry pad but not really used it much as yet but this video has given me some ideas!

It’s a great controller for the iPad, very easy to set up 😊

@jaylinshaw3399 The Starry Pad takes its power from the USB cable that comes in the box - there is no ON/OFF switch. If you are using an iPad it is best to use a USB hub if you also have an Audio Interface. Connect the USB hub to iPad via an Apple Camera Connection kit and then anything plugged into the USB hub can be connected to your iPad. E.g. the Audio interface and Starry Pad. If you want to use Koala as in this video, you need to select Starry Pad as the Midi input device.
If you don't have an audio interface then you should be able to connect the USB cable from the Starry Pad to a newish iPad that has a USB-C port using the USB-A to USB-C adapter that comes in the box. Hope that helps.

How did you make it work

I could do with something like this- more knobs for choice- to use with the Arturia V Collection. Got a Novation thingy but it’s a nightmare to set up…

Thank you. Thanks to the video, I began to understand a little what's what. But there are misunderstandings... I went to the Storypad Editor and found that the red SEND TO DEVICE button is not active. I can't save the changes. But I vaguely remember that at first I saved something. Was active. And also, GET FROM DEVICE does not work. Only the blue FACTORY RESET is active. I don't understand - what happened? And VSTi stopped sounding on the track. The signal goes, midi messages are recorded, but there is no sound...

@@carlossoriano3216 Hi. I managed to do it. On the fifth day of my fight with Stаrrypad Editor, I accidentally noticed that these unfortunate buttons became active. I couldn't figure out exactly which convulsive pressing of which buttons led to this result. But then I managed to notice what exactly leads to the activation of the buttons. Do this. In the Starrypad Editor, go to OPTIONS and select the Starrypad in and Starrypad out lines TOGETHER using CTRL and the left mouse button. Let both lines turn blue. After that, click OK. Everything will work as it should. No one talks about this nuance in any UA-cam video.

Can you connect the Donner Starrypad to an external synth like the Roland mc101, with the "midi out" from the Starrypad into the "midi in" port of the Roland?
Can the two devices communicate with each other, and will the pad controller trigger sounds from the synth? Is there any particular configuration in the settings to adjust in order to make this two devices work together? Thanks.

Thanks Doug! Been curious about this one. I’m curious, I use an auxiliary to usb c adapter for my headphones. Im Thinking of grabbing this and an SSD. Could I use my powered usb hub to run the Starry Pad, the SSD and my headphones all out once?

I don’t know what you mean, but if i’m correct, the softer you press, the less volume your sample has! To disable this, turn on the button above “pad bank” which is “full level”!

Seriously. I've been trying to find resources on how to set it up with the native software, and so far the most informative video uses an interface my Windows computer can't use >:(

Same here man, this guy literally didn't explain anything on what software to download for beginners

@@ryanrivera6733 to be fair, it turns out you only even need one of these to play live. If you're just programming a beat, all you need is a mouse.
But I'm still curious what program he's using, because it looks siiick.
