Wow!!! This is amazing i love your youtube channel i am starting a vietnam war impression too and wish i had the money to buy all these things. Keep up the good work.
While your collection of TA-50 is admirable, we did carry all that stuff. You only carried what you actually needed. It was too freakin' hot to lug that crap through the deep grass and bamboo.
The stuff you have is great, but it would be nice if you used the actual nomenclature terms that we used in the Corps. For example no US Marine would ever call it a hat, it's called a cover, and a shirt is a blouse. A flashlight a moonbeam...
Hey really good video, I am looking for a Vietnam war era m1 helmet, tried looking on ebay and other websites but they were either way to expensive or very busted up. Do you know any places or websites that you could recommend?
A place you could go is At the front, the only thing is that it is a ww2 chinstrap, but it is rear seam. You could try hessian antiques to find a vietnam war era chinstrap, another place you could look is a local PX store. You can get a Helmet band a helmet cover and you could get a helmet. I hope I could help,
You can find M1 helmets and liners at local surplus stores, or conventions which is where I got mine. You have to look hard and the minor details with surplus bought M1's but they are normally much cheaper than ones you can buy at a convention.
Don't know how real you want to take the grenades but blue spoon equals practice grenade, they should be od. Additionally they would have a yellow ring around the top of the grenade just under the fuse assembly
Is there an operation or battle where the Marines didn't use the m55 flak vests? I'm putting together a USMC 68 impression and I can't afford a flak jacket, the only one I have is the Army m55A which is kinda farby to use for that.
So I have a original ERDL green dominate jungle fatigue should I wear it to like airsoft things or should I not use it at all, It is in unishued condition so mint condition.
@@pepsiboi3798 Yeah, I have been thinking maybe just buying rothco jungle fatigues and just putting the ERDL on display or not wearing it. Thank you a lot, also I am going to sub to your channel.
Ya don’t really need a mess kit when it comes to C rats they only really carried a canteen cup in their carrier to cook their C rats And you really need is a spoon and a fork that’s it
your web set is set up unusually for a marine also some people might call you farby bur there are pictures of marines on operation dewey canyon using lw rucksacks also you would have full erdl for 1970
Pepsi boi also I recommend taking the bug juice out of your helmet band because marines would not be allowed to do that also I recommend taking the the middle canteen off and putting your jungle kit there
As jack stated there are countless pictures of soldiers and marines with accessories on their helmets. “Learn more history” says the one who was supposedly there yet still doesn’t know this undeniable fact.
First pattern: no pockets
Second pattern: added pockets non-exposed buttons
Third pattern exposed buttons, added left hand shooters cord

Late war USMC gang bro
I’m thinking about doing a US Vietnam marine impression but nice video!
The second pattern canteen cover is definitely farbie because I have one dated 1964 with the nylon strip instead of canvas
it's still farbie being 64 dated?
Sorry I was trying to say that the nylon strip is not late war it was in the beginning of the war too

Really nice setup, but your sixteen need older, short stock. Very common for A1 models in late war.
Does the stock have a specific name?
@@pepsiboi3798 "Type D" no trap door.

Do you think you can do a video on the Marine impression in Huê?

How did they get hurt for not having their gas mask during the Tet Offensive?

3d reconnaissance battalion
Actually yes. 65 and 66 they aren't that common. Even the Hill Fights in 67, almost every picture shows Marines not wearing their flak jackets
Where do you reenact at? I'm thinking about getting a kit together but I'd like to have a group I guys I could reenact it with
I've just started doing USMC morden load from 2004 to present

Could you tell me what Farbie means?
incorrect and did no research
Ryan Kerper lol
FARB is an acronym it means fast and researchless buying.

Pepsi boi probably not a lot just look at pictures from operation Dewey canyon
@@JackMauson a side note any chance you know if marines used a buttpack?

PAVN had plenty of issued gear and NLF routinely stole US web gear and other personal items.
But, yup.. nothing too special
I was in the vietnam war and on the helmet people didn't have time to put stuff on. Learn more history.
They most definitely did🤣 countless pictures of real veterans doing so
