Thanks a lot for the video, I'll speak for myself, but I would be tremendously happy if you kept on making the type of content you've been making all these years: a guy with a charming personality walks on Japanese streets, talks about different everyday and not-so-everyday topics, deals with everyday situations that every person who is going to visit Japan will deal with at some point and at the same time provides extremely well crafted subtititles and translations. It makes me happy that I can look at the English translation less and less as time goes.

Yeah, Akihabara is crowded during the daytime, but almost empty at night. I feel like Akihabara at night is a mystical place.

I remember seeing the streets empty during covid, there's something special about having those areas to yourself when they're normally crowded.

Listening to this without looking at the subtitles show how much I need to improve on my Japanese listening skills. I’ve been learning Japanese for 5 months now, and I have a hard time picking up what they say when they talk super fast.
Native speakers speak very fast almost unconsciously😖
As the fastest spoken language, I thought I was prepared for my trip after months of study.
I was not. But videos like this are invaluable.
I love this series of strolling in areas that are otherwise crowded during the day. Seeing akiba station's gates down and empty streets is refreshing...thanks.

What I understand from this video is that there are a lot of people in Japan in need of help. I would love to be able to help them, at least that is the strong feeling I get after watching this video: I wish there was something I could do to help them. After long hours working under severe pressure from their bosses, and repeating this day after day with so little free time and free days, in a society that expects you to adhere to all societal norms, a society that expects you to not stand in the crowd, a society that expects you to not create problems to others... it is no wonder that people end up crumbling and getting desperate. Especially in big cities.
Seeking help, however, requires a lot of effort and it's something very hard to do. Those who seek it are very brave.
To you who is reading this right now: I wish you all nothing but the best.

言語交換のアプリとかで、ちょっとゆうすけさんのと同じようなメイルが来ます。よく「英語を教えてください！」というメッセージを読んで、少しイライラします。なぜなら、そう言ったら自分の語学学習の責任を他人に転嫁してしまうと思います。そしたら英語が身に付かなかったら、僕が悪い先生のせいだと考えられます。
人は助けが求められるんですが、結局自ら自分の問題を解決しなくてはなりません。
言語交換アプリは 言語交換が目的だから そういう人もいますよね。
それが嫌な場合は「お金を払ってくれれば教えます」って言うしかないですね。

3:25頃に「つぶやき」が目立たされて思わされたことなんですけど、ゆうすけさんにとって面白いか、もし知らなければ知識になるかもしれないと思って密接な関係のある英語の表現を紹介します。
「Just thinking out loud」という表現は、英語圏で「自分の頭の中を整えるために、周りの人が応えるはずがなくて感想または考えたことを発言する」というのを表してよく使われている言い方です。
例文としては、ゆうすけさんの動画のように「つぶやき」を翻訳するなら、「I'm not sure if that's actually a question or if they're just thinking out loud.」という風に用いられます。
ちなみにゆうすけさんの英訳は何も悪くないです！動画で日本語の単語、会話の自然な流れをいつも紹介してくれているし、逆に面白いか、役に立てればと思いましたね😊

i'm back from a previous post, i'm still struggling but i'm wondering if the sources i'm learning from are good, and if you have any websites or apps you reccomend to use to help study
From my experience, I think if you are a beginner, you cannot yet benefit from all the native language environment. It's an expensive vacation. If you are intermediate or higher, the benefit is great. Though we can't know the future, I think the question being asked was not extremely long term. It was more like "should I do it next year?" Btw, I also thought the apple tree concept is helpful to put things in perspective, but anyone can say something valuable for you anytime. When will your paths intersect? It doesn't mean they are responsible to offer continuous wisdom, but sometimes they offer a lot. Both of these are related to the same point. There is no guarantee, but it's okay.

My first reaction to hearing about the contacting Japanese is pitty, to be honest. I'm sorry they are struggling, reach out and get ignored. But hearing you talk about it I also understand that this is putting you in an uncomfortable situation and I'm sorry to hear that, too. Aside the fact that you are right that this channel is about learning and as much as it is your right to not want to become the advisor, it can also be dangerous. People struggling should try to get professional help, one doesn't want to cause more damage after all. And there is no shame in doing so, at all. Frankly I personally think we all inheritently need a psychatrist anyways. Especially now that we all live alone so often with noone to confide to. Aaaaanyway, I hope they don't discourage you from making these vids and throwing in some wise words now and then it is still interessting to hear your perspective after all xD
On a completely different note: Akihabara at night is really cool! I'm a bit introverted and I felt overwhelmed by the crowds and noises during the day but seeing it so bright and clean and beautiful and most of all quiet and empty..aaah wonderful XD I do hope you got home ok though the subway was clearly closed down D: well I mean you obviously did but...damn please be careful XD

I can't express my opinions in a UA-cam comment because I have to write too much. But I think something is going wrong in both our societies, italian and Japanese. Two cultures that are dying slowly.
