Jeff was putting out this type of quality at 16/17. Insane.
Saw this band, by accident, in 87 at The Den in Wigan. I think I was listening to U2 at the time. I wasn't sure what had happened, got in with some punk/traveller types and ended up at Stonehenge and then some festival taking acid with Hawkwind playing a 5 hour set off the back of a lorry.
Interesting summer.
Not at Stonehenge you didn't, the festival was stopped in 85.

@@slackerbarny even so lol... but that wasn't '87, maybe 84, but the festival was stopped in '85 (see the Battle of the Beanfield) the bastard cops roughed up the travellers big time. I used to live within walking distance of the stones and often frequented the festival as a kid, good days.

My dad was into Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper and his opinion on stuff like this was "my parents thought my stuff sucked and they were wrong. This doesn't suck I'm just too old to understand it". He knew it wasn't a phase because it wasn't a phase for him.

Man, so much good stuff. When I was a kid in the 80s I was mostly a metalhead and never delved deeper into punk than suicidal, dri, dk, etc,,,
So I missed all this! Now I can’t get enough of it. Heresy brought me here.
Hands down one of the best albums of all time, changed how I feel about everything.

Bruno was running a VHS rental shop in Wigan for a while, Andy carried on with hunt stabbing and old sharky Jeff...well that's history. Great band, saw them many times. Jeff moved into my old room in a shared house in st Helens....my lasting memory of him is when his mum came round to drop off a hoover and she kept calling him 'jeffery' XD
Been listening to the Only good punk album since 1987,still fkn brilliant.
There are times when they remind me of mid 80s Detroit hardcore band Negative Approach, other times, Killing Joke, GBH, still other times even Lemmy era Hawkwind. This is a varied and interesting album, and I love the fuzz bass.
Negative Approach were an early 80's band - 1981-84.
Yeah, perhaps by design, perhaps by accident they were a mix up of the more extreme US stuff like NA or maybe Siege at times with the leather n' studs UK punk stuff and a bit of the noisy end of Crass/Conflict peace punk.
51 and still give this masterpiece a spin.
One of the greatest albums to come out of the UK hardcore scene, in my opinion.
