As a Fujian White Crane practitioner based in Taiwan, I can honestly say this is one of the best examples of FWC applications on UA-cam. You know a teacher is the real deal when he lets the partner attack freely and responds spontaneously in a demo as opposed to having the partner stand still with an arm out like a dummy or only showing choreographed moves.
My teacher studied this and speaks about it- the closely related and somewhat rare "Shaking Crane" style. WIth that speed and the internal energy behind it, those quick sharp strikes break bones easily. This elderly man proves that tendon strength is vital and often what Westerners lack and fail to train. Muscle breaks down quickly as you age but tendons stay sturdy for the most part. This is why this can move with such speed, reaction time etc
Master Lee Yes Sifu Ong CK Said that this pull up the neck nerve as biting the jaw. It allow all the organ and nerve to regenerate it healthy systems . Till now age 84 .
It's amazing how his whole being can transform so instantaneously. At any age really, but especially at his age. And the motions are so fluid, all instinctive. Decades of practice!
This was great. The way he used his bodily energy and loose limbs was very effective. He has very direct movements that should secure victory. Also the technique is not precise it is fluid, like water. Meaning all he has to to is be flexible, and overwhelm you. I also noticed an advanced spiritual energy. Not in the sense of a monk or religious man, but spirit of the warrior was prevalent. Going full speed, you can seriously hurt somebody like this.
This is very interesting. I tried practicing the Shen spirit concept clenching the molars and focusing intent in my Silat and to my surprise it's gives me a sort of goosebumps sensation, (and excitement) sort of feeling which definitely helps create an inner energy. This White Crane is very good Kung fu I feel.
Another fascinating upload and insight both into a fighting style and the sifu behind it - the 'spirit' or presence is an interesting aspect too. I can see obvious parallels with hakka flavoured arts here in terms of the instant spring reaction/power and trained intent. Thanks Keiran.

impressive...would be very interesting to learn that style...surprising to me actually how effective that looks like it could be...deceptive I think especially with an older man....very very interesting.
I'm from Spain. I was living in Japan and practicing Japanese traditional karate for 8 years there. After knowing this style I feel that I wasted my time doing something that has been so watered down and ideologically biased that it is not even healthy. They teach you that typical "macho" kamikaze type of thinking of "always charging forward and never step back", which never matched my personality and I felt always pushing myself too much to change myself to something that I'm not. When I was searching the roots of karate and I found the white crane style I felt in love with it. Even I'm now 44 years old I want to learn it and reset many wrong things that I learned from Japanese karate. But here, in Spain, I think that there are no masters of this style. Where I live there are many Chinese people but I doubt there is somebody knowledgeable about this who can teach me. It would motivate me a lot to learn it because I'm now with depression and anxiety. It would be a way to correct my mistakes in martial arts which are also connected with a life being forced to be unnatural.
I believe what Master Ong Chin Kwee has to say about 'spirits is true. There is a correct spirit and an incorrect spirit, that's it. According to this clip, a person can learn to harness the correct spirit by engaging themselves with the 3 battles. This makes much sense because I know that if I am filled with the incorrect spirit, I am already defeated and it is impossible to survive, you cannot, and you will end up a 'dead man walking, like me. Therefore, if I am dead, the only way for me to live and survive is to harness the correct 'spirit'. By achieving this, the correct spirit will live for me, if I am lucky, because I cannot, I am already dead. -"Boogie Theory"
very interesting. Studies point to the origin of karate coming from this style. seeing its hard and soft aspects it is very clear the similarity. mainly okinawa styles goju e ueshi Ryu.
Have you interviewed Master Su of White Crane in Yongchun, Southern China? If not, I think it would make for a great episode. Great channel and thanks!
My old Goju Ryu teacher was interested in the Chinese origins of Okinawan Karate. His teacher, Morio Higaonna, even went to China to exchange information with White Crane practitioners. The original White Crane has many descendants.

The "pulling up the neck to raise the spirit" is part of Taiji too, and perhaps is common to many kungfu systems, with variation. :) And yeah, I gotta say as well, the speed and accuracy with which Sifu Ong *springs* into action is phenomenal !!!
at 84, this sifu can break your wrist and arm easily if he wants to! it's like natural muscle instinct. look at that speed! training must be very tough during his time.
Sifu Ong CK Was train by Grand master Chua kun. He still a kid at age 14 yrs at kampong. That was around 1930 and in the kampong has Harding any entertainment or night life. I heard he pratice inside the fish pond where there is a lot of green sloppy weep. As every step he move must lock his lifted up the ass to maintain it balance . I thing today no one can survive under this environment of the 1930.
I don't think it would be any tougher than the training professional fighters to through nowadays. In fact you could say the training was likely easier, though the conditions would be worse and the knowledge less, I guess that could be construed as difficulty. There also isn't much weight moving in those strikes so they will be pretty quick, the same as a boxers jab.
@@AveSicarius This is kind of internal organ and all the main 12 nerve to rejunibenate and alive. As age 84 grand master Ong is super at the speed. Normally breaking limb is waste of time. It go direct to dip out the eyes and twists the balls. It is not heavy weight challenge but life and dead. So it healthy and alive is more important than challenge.
@@vipassanamasterzenng5780 you cannot break someones limbs that easily, especially when you are older. It requires a lot of leverage in a particular position, usually in a grappling scenario not the movements you see in striking here. It is also very difficult to accurately gouge out someones eyes, or to attack their testicles given the conditions in a real fight. With adrenaline going, both of those attacks will not put someone down even in the unlikely scenario you get them off. If I get you in a rear naked choke and you attack my eyes then you get your neck broken, if I'm striking and you try to attack my eyes while I'm moving my head; you get a blast to the chin. Do you see the trade off in that scenario? I can't see very well at worst compared to being unable to fight. Such techniques are unrealistic due to the conditions of combat and generally only included when you don't actually do any stress testing, not to mention legal issues even if you did manage the impossible and pulled it off.

Bite the mora teeth as hards as possible.
It bring out the the nerve of the neck.
Bring in the stomach.
Squeeze up the ass.
Draw the energy in from the ground.
Then every stroke and strick it come in an instant like this Sifu wong cw.
This is the secret of shaolin inner hall show by sifu.

What is mora teeth? You mean molar?

Molar teeth.
Also the jaw is clamp
There by all the neck nerve is lifted.
Thank you for sharing this! Absolutely amazing spirit.....
I think this might be the specific lineage of White Crane that influenced Uechi-Ryu. This was amazingly insightful.
9:05 Good example of putting the body behind a hand technique.
Yes Sifu Wong CK never move a step and just leave the body behind.
That is still like a rock as the empty mind ready to react to any respond.
Leave the body behind.
He already captured your spirit.... nice life long practice.
I love the noise made by his bones every time he strikes or moves.
Cool video, I love how you get the background story of the family and origin.

Cheers
I luv the sound effects
It probably few coins in a box inside his pocket..
Much appreciation sir! Yet another awesome video. I learned some minor crane during my Shun Wu Tang training but this is on another level! I hope this guy has trained at least 3 people to carry on his system....as hes def old school about his principles with regards to students. Respect to him for sticking with it. Lots of people teach for the money and not for the continuation of system and it shows now-a days with Gungho kungfu with no real ability. Keep up the good work and belated happy holidays!
how quick are his fing hands, one system he's learnt for most of his life, a true expert.
This man has got a body of a teenager although he is an elderly. That is probably the beauty of king fu, not its efficiency.
Kraft Werk Master Ong is in great shape for a man who is 84 years years old.
@YK Yeah, Master Ong doesn't look his age at all. White Crane Kung-fu is working for him :)
i thought those sound effects are only on films
That’s awesome, you can really see the crane in the movement.
all in the breath..great video
Amazing document. Nice work letting eveyone know about these true masters. Thanks a lot.
Impressive old master, not only has power, great workable techniques, but fantastic sound effects 😁
Love this chap need him around my area-Bless him, never underestimate Anyone!
Spectacular! Thank you for making this available!

Is there is a documentary about his life is more wonderful.
Like how he was train by his Grand Sifu Chua Chun .
How he came down to Singapore train us ?
He used his whole life in Kungfu and open a clinic the injure like broken bone etc.
His secret never reveal till soon going into extinction.
Thank you
Great demo fo how the inner strength work when real fighting. The Master is quite a model. So are you.
You mean how it doesn't....work.. in real fighting..
My favorite video on this channel, I am very impressed about his speed hands, beautiful style, long life to this grand master.
This elderly man proves that tendon strength is vital and often what Westerners lack and fail to train. Muscle breaks down quickly as you age but tendons stay sturdy for the most part. This is why this can move with such speed, reaction time etc
Master Lee
Yes
Sifu Ong CK
Said that this pull up the neck nerve as biting the jaw.
It allow all the organ and nerve to regenerate it healthy systems .
Till now age 84 .
Well noted.
To the west, size is a big deal.
To south east asians,
a lean, wiry frame
can endure more.
You should try and get an interview with Grandmaster Victor Kan in London - is a powerhouse of a man.....
Podria haser un video sobre el kung fu san soo por favor ? Muchas gracias¡
Going full speed, you can seriously hurt somebody like this.
sadly if you go to a mma gym, no one there knows about spiritual energy.
Sifu wong said his kungfu is for defend only.
After 70 yrs of training .
Till today Never get to used his art.
Thank you so much for share it. I am very fanatic of southern wushu, in special bei he quan (white crane fist).
PhilipTheRed
Yes it is inner hall of shaolin only teach Shen ( 意)。
Very rare and soon face extinction.
Another fascinating upload and insight both into a fighting style and the sifu behind it - the 'spirit' or presence is an interesting aspect too. I can see obvious parallels with hakka flavoured arts here in terms of the instant spring reaction/power and trained intent. Thanks Keiran.
That's exactly what I thought. I've seen a hakka martial art performance before and remember a similar body vibration aspect to it.
i was reading online and they have a white crane kung fu school here in alaska. but thats also 2 hours away from me. and for that reason im going to be taking up seibukan jujutsu in a month or 2 and working towards a 2nd black belt in another style. i have 1 black belt already in chinese kenpo took me 4 years to get it but all that hard work payed off.
Oh this Sifu is amazing 🙏, thank you for this video. What a spirit.
The hand trapping technique from this master reminds me of Bruce Lee's JKD stuff. Great video and a lot of respect for this master.
Beautiful art and skills displayed
impressive...would be very interesting to learn that style...surprising to me actually how effective that looks like it could be...deceptive I think especially with an older man....very very interesting.
I'm from Malaysia and he is speaking in Hokkien. The truth is, i understand the language but if there is subtitles. Im gonna use it to it's maximum xD
AWESOME Video, THANK U VERY MUCH👍👍👍😍😍😍
We need the tiger counter part🙌🙌🙌
great video
Look for a goju ryu school or chen style tai chi school.
This is literally the most mind blowing thing I have ever seen
Thanks for watching!
Thank you! It is refreshing to see another iteration of Sanchin, one of the oldest forms (kata in Okinawa) that is central to many martial systems.
Yes this shen (意)
Is alive like a cat.
May be one of the most interesting White Crane 用法 (practical application) on UA-cam
This old master is still in his prime! God Bless him
I believe what Master Ong Chin Kwee has to say about 'spirits is true.
You know how powerful he is just looking at his speed, no chance have this with only phisical power.
Very Good vídeo! Like
Pelo que conheço é uma boa técnica de bloqueios e contra ataques. Em um ataque em briga de rua no meu ver é eficiente!👍👍👍
very interesting. Studies point to the origin of karate coming from this style. seeing its hard and soft aspects it is very clear the similarity. mainly okinawa styles goju e ueshi Ryu.
Yes sir .
Thank you.
There recognise the origin.
Awesome thank you
No problem!
One of the most beautiful expressions of martial arts...simple and direct.
This is less martial and more art..
Have you interviewed Master Su of White Crane in Yongchun, Southern China? If not, I think it would make for a great episode.
Great channel and thanks!
Would you have time yo visit malaysia ?
My old Goju Ryu teacher was interested in the Chinese origins of Okinawan Karate. His teacher, Morio Higaonna, even went to China to exchange information with White Crane practitioners. The original White Crane has many descendants.
i recommend white crane kung fu after you got your black belt in goju ryu
Yes, good observation. Same roots. There are UA-cam videos showing Master Higaonna practising Sanchin kata. Even the name sounds alike. Sifu Ong talks about Sanchien.
@@banamai I went to a weekend seminar with Master Higaonna back in the 90s. Great teacher and super nice guy. Still have autographed copy of his book.
@@ambulocetusnatans A treasure to keep!
@@banamai After checking prices on Amazon, it does seem to be worth a treasure indeed.
Excellent content!
I wish it had occurred to you to try some kicks to see his kick defenses.
ONEDIRECTION thanks! You can watch the video of Master Ong showing his defenses against kicks on my website. Here’s the link to the video: themartialman.com/white-crane-kung-fu-vs-thai-kicks-demonstrated-by-master-ong-chin-kwee
The "pulling up the neck to raise the spirit" is part of Taiji too, and perhaps is common to many kungfu systems, with variation. :)
And yeah, I gotta say as well, the speed and accuracy with which Sifu Ong *springs* into action is phenomenal !!!
at 84, this sifu can break your wrist and arm easily if he wants to! it's like natural muscle instinct. look at that speed! training must be very tough during his time.
Sifu Ong CK
Was train by Grand master Chua kun.
@@AveSicarius
This is kind of internal organ and all the main 12 nerve to rejunibenate and alive.
@@AveSicarius
Grand Sifu Ong CK is a bone healer etc.
Surly one is smaller in size and has weak bone.
Were be easily break.
If the opponent interlock all joined with chi and yi
With the strenght intact .
Yes is difficult to break them.
Very good.

Sifu Ong CK.
70 yrs of training as still progressing .
One of bests films on Kung Fu masters ever, congrats. PS. The sound effects better than Hollywood action movies!
i'm amazed at his speed despite the stiff form, it goes against what i've been told about soft vs hard forms
His white crane is shaolin inner hall or very rare ?
It from the karate strenght and later retiring like us in this age is another forms of wind kungfu.
Thunder kungfu and rain kungfu.
That is like a lady fist as soft part in white crane.
Train hard style to the ultimate reveals softness. Train soft style to the ultimate will contain hardness. Yin & Yang
Es un gran Sifu a pesar de su edad tiene mucha velocidad en sus movimientos.
Claro, los chinos no se mueren
I train in Ngor Chor Kun (Five Ancestors Fist) and the main core of the system is Sam Chien. It's good to see a true Kung Fu master at work here.
Muy muy bueno!!!! Se ven claros los movimientos que comparte con el wing chun. Seguramente el wing chun deriva de éste estilo. Pregunta aparte ¿por qué hacía tanto ruido el Sifu al moverse? Gracias
I believe the noise is coming from a steel pouch Sifu had in his pocket.
@@THEMARTIALMAN thanks!!!! 👍
As a Malaysian I am proud.

This man shows super fast attacks that can be directed on the neck and eyes. His fingers are dangerous.
Old man can kick ass. Take a bow granps.
Thanks for such a unique interview. This cracking sound when he moves makes me worry about his joints. Where was it coming from? It is amazing for 84 years. Thanks.
It's from a metal box with coins kept in his shirt pocket.
Great Sifu, great video 👊
"When Sifu goes into this state you can almost feel there's a presence there."

it is an elective strike along the center line to three targets
