It’s one of my favorite games and is probably one of, if not the only games I’ve 100%. What I mean by that is getting all gold medals in the quest and challenges and finding all the collectibles (not all of the collectibles, like the dlc collectibles because my game glitched and for some reason I can’t see there locations on the map). The reason for 100% the game was because completing all the quest/challenges and finding all the collectibles gave you cosmetics. The cosmetics were the incentive to get the 100% and the game being as fun as it was helped keep me engaged. I would honestly describe the game as Tony Hawk meets Deadpool. The 90’s punk aesthetic with the rail grinding mechanics as well as the movement system reminded me of Tony Hawk. While the humor, fourth-wall breaks, and respawns referencing movies and other video games reminded me of Deadpool. I hope in the future Insomniac gets the chance to make a sequel, and hopefully it’s available to multiple platforms.
One of my favorite games. Just pure fun and madness. My only complaint is that you can’t erase files to start fresh, you can only replay missions or erase the game data when not connected to live

Thank god Sunset Overdrive got re-released on Steam a couple years ago. Easily one of my top 10 all time favorite games. This game was the only reason I wanted to get a xbox one back when it first came out, but I had just gotten a 360 only a couple months before then.
Releasing on steam was definitely a great move and I'm Microsoft now is just simultaneously releasing all exclusives (I believe) on both PC and Xbox. More people that get to experience a game is never a bad thing! Also I know your pain, same thing happened to me with the PS2 and next generation consoles. Finally got a PS2 in 2005 and all my mates moved onto the 360 😂
To be frank, the quality of your videos speaks for itself, the only problem is discoverability. More big youtubers should do like Whitelight to help viewers find interesting videos, since youtube recommendations clearly have different goals
What Whitelight did for Infamous Sir Hellfire was amazing! I agree that youtube recommendations barely work and it's always nice when a bigger youtuber acknowledges the hustlers and smaller channels trying to make a go of this youtube journey. We are still growing somehow without that big push though which is incredible :)
finding this in my recommended actually lit up my day. sunset overdrive for me was one of the best games I've played from the traversal, weapons, and enemies. it was super fun and I never got bored the part where you mentioned that most of the missions are go here do that actually surprised me it all felt new and exciting. truly a game in need of a sequel

Just got this on the game pass for PC. Finished it yesterday. It’s like they took all of my favorite game mechanics and rammed them into one glorious experience. Tony Hawkes freeskating with rockets. What’s not to love?

Just started playing this game thanks to someone that mentioned this game in a random comment in a saints row review. Sunset overdrive is way better, cooler and enjoyable than what i've seen with SR. It had the right kind of humor and the open world is so much fun to traverse. It reminded me of spiderman wherein you don't wanna use fast travel. If there's a game I'd recommend right now that is wackier and funnier than SR, it would be this one and also Destroy all humans reprobed.
I'm so glad I found your channel. The structure of your videos and presentation is amazing! I recently showed a friend of mine who had never played sunset overdrive the game. I hadn't played it since the launch of the game but muscle memory instantly kicked in and I was traversing and killing o.d's in style. Such an amazing game and unfortunately one I don't think we'll ever see a sequel to.

Microsoft's greed hurt that game big time. I was super excited to see one of my favorite developers was making a game with a lot of punk elements. Was super disappointed when I learned it was exclusive, and it faded away into obscurity for me since.
This game is crazy underrated. I loved the whole game and dlc. I wann get it on pc to play through again since they don't have multiple save files. I've always loved insomniac mainly for spyro because spyro 3 was a big part of my childhood. I also really love song of the deep.
I never forgot and I will never forget this game that is a mix between Deadpool’s 4th wall break self aware humor, wacky characters that are over the top stereotypes but in a good way, a mascot that was if Mickey Mouse and Pepsi man turned evil, wacky weapons and concept, references to games, movies, tv shows, comics, and many others, amazing music, fun trailers, and movement helped for the later spiderman PS4 game. This game is a hidden gem in my opinion and i wish there was a sequel. If insomniac made a sequel for ps5 i would pre order on the word overdrive!

Could’ve gone a bit crazier. If they make a sequel, they could introduce new flavors of the drink to justify different character creation options and new enemies
I fucken love this game the movement is literally my favorite thing about this that no game has ever come close, even insomniacs own Spider-Man because it's swinging and wall running no grinding. It's I'm my opinion an S tier videogame that you can play (like I did) 7 years after it came out I played it on a series S for crying out loud. I really hope Sony gets their head out there 3rd person gritty storytelling ass and make a sequel.
I think Sony will let Insomniac be Insomniac. We've got a new Ratchet and Clank coming soon but what I'd like to see hopefully in the PS5 generation is a new Resistance (which meets Sony's gritty aspect they seem to want to much) and Sunset Overdrive 2. I think Sony trusts Insomniac so I want to see them go nuts this generation!
If Halo infinite isn't a flop I think we'll see Resistance come back to compete. But I think sony is just gonna play it safe and make a sequel to Spider-Man and bring back those puddles 😁

@Robert Phillips I got both consoles I know what I like and what's beginning to seem stagnant. Horizon forbidden west just looks like Horizon zero dawn but prettier.
They need to port this game onto new platforms. I'm glad that the Xbox One has such a good exclusive like this, but it needs to be played by new people
Straight up, the reason this game was forgotten is because it was a PlayStation game not released on a PlayStation 🤣 I just picked up an Xbox One X yesterday for shits and gigs and did grab Sunset Overdrive since it was only $8 (and was one Exclusive that sold me on the Xbox One... Of course I waited for more but we all know what happened with Xbone and Games 🤷) but now with Game Pass as well it was about time I Jumped In (haha, 360 Slogan 😁) and after just the opening Hour I could see the foundation of what would become Spiderman (I believe it was the same Team at Insomniac who made both as well as Resistance? 🤔) even the Protagonist is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal who voices Peter Parker/Spidey in their Spiderman game 👍
Would have been good to have a spoiler warning or just omit the ending section altogether since I’ve only just started this game! Maybe something to consider for future videos. Thanks

I did not like this game at all. But if I think, the way this game made you feel like a cool adult with a cool adult job is the same way I felt turning 17 and buying an Xbox and crackdown. The games stands tall with great gameplay as well as nostalgia. I never liked the aiming in this or infamous. Feels a but too "loose"? Not sure how to describe how it feels uncomfortable.
Honestly, might have to give the game a try. It just looked like it was trying too hard, sort of a "how do you do, fellow kids? LoOk HoW wHaCkY wE aRe. IsN't ThAt So RaNdOm?" garbage that you know was written by a team of 60 year old writers that haven't interacted with anyone under the age of 40 outside of the unpaid intern.

They literally used this games movement system as the framework for Spider-Man's movement system.
Well, they definitely would've picked up some experience developing this game prior to spider-man, but they are very different to play.

The resistance was one of the best storylines ever when I was a kid. Not many people remember it now days.

Straight up, the reason this game was forgotten is because it was a PlayStation game not released on a PlayStation 🤣 I just picked up an Xbox One X yesterday for shits and gigs and did grab Sunset Overdrive since it was only $8 (and was one Exclusive that sold me on the Xbox One... Of course I waited for more but we all know what happened with Xbone and Games 🤷) but now with Game Pass as well it was about time I Jumped In (haha, 360 Slogan 😁) and after just the opening Hour I could see the foundation of what would become Spiderman (I believe it was the same Team at Insomniac who made both as well as Resistance? 🤔) even the Protagonist is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal who voices Peter Parker/Spidey in their Spiderman game 👍

I did not like this game at all. But if I think, the way this game made you feel like a cool adult with a cool adult job is the same way I felt turning 17 and buying an Xbox and crackdown. The games stands tall with great gameplay as well as nostalgia. I never liked the aiming in this or infamous. Feels a but too "loose"? Not sure how to describe how it feels uncomfortable.

Honestly, might have to give the game a try. It just looked like it was trying too hard, sort of a "how do you do, fellow kids? LoOk HoW wHaCkY wE aRe. IsN't ThAt So RaNdOm?" garbage that you know was written by a team of 60 year old writers that haven't interacted with anyone under the age of 40 outside of the unpaid intern.
I do get where you're coming from mate 😂 Insomniac's pretty good at not doing that though and Sunset Overdrive is well worth checking out 🤙
