Wow, you sound so much live Elvis, and your eyes really look like Elvis!
Thank you! You made my day! I was so hoping to get the role but I was still under contract with the ABC daytime soap opera, Loving. Such is life!
Tom Welling meets Elvis :) Amazing portrayal, no wonder they would've picked you.
Thanks Michael. I did my very best but contracts get in the way sometimes. Ultimately, I think Elvis would have approval.
you were fantastic, I know I imitate Elvis
Todd. I thought you did great. Yes, Michael st.jerard did great but played some scenes too passive. You look good too! Too bad it didn't work out for you!
@@johnstanko4321 I'll bet you're good at it too!
@@ToddMcDurmont dang if I was casting I would have put you in the role. Michael looks a lot like him but didn't make any effort to try to sound like him.
@@shadycnetwork Michael is a wonderful guy. I met him and gave him kudos on the role. Ya know, it's tough to play Elvis, period. Everybody has their own way of doing it. I think Michael did fine. He didn't have that true southern swagger but heck he was born up north. No matter. He did just fine. In my case, I'm southern and understood the swagger. I didn't really look like Elvis but I could imitate his voice pretty closely. Add those Elvis nuances and it was in the ballpark. I do wish I could have played Elvis in a serious roll. Such is live. But thank you for your nice comments. Made my day.
Wow.. now that is incredible. Fantastic talent.
This guy is GREAT!!!
Amazing
Thank you sir. Much appreciate.
I’ve always been a fan of the series. I was watching some episodes and came across this. I never this existed. Great screen test! Michael St. Gerard did a great job and there is no doubt in my mind that the series would have been just as great with you in it. 👍🏻
Thanks man. That really means a lot.
Nailed the voice my man, respect.
Thank you! That made my day! Most appreciated!
@@ToddMcDurmont My pleasure. Michael St. Gerard was okay, good resemblance but lacking charisma IMO, I just didn't feel the passion. I'd have cast you in a heartbeat. Peace
Wow, excellent Todd. xx
Thank you!
That one part.."session" about Vernon forging a check was when Elvis visited his home town in tupelo..lol..oddly Gerard had his hair different than all the other episodes..
Well, we both got it wrong. Elvis never wore his hair like either myself or Gerard in 1954. I'll look more like early-mid 1960's Elvis in the screentest. The hair was just a bit too much. Anyway, the screentest was fun to do! But I was under contract with ABC Daytime and couldn't play the role.
Wow that's incredible, sounds like elvis and the mannerisms
Thank you! Great compliment!
I believed you were elvis, really great job! I did elvis impersonations as a kid on stage all the time. if I had seen this you'd have been my hero!
That was a brilliant test! Wow! Shame it never happened.
It did happen. This guy just wasnt in it. Michael St. Gerard did. Gerard was the best actor to ever play Elvis.
Excellent!!
Liz Mason Thank you, Liz!
+Todd McDurmont just being honest!! Thank you!! You did a great job. 😊 Have a Happy Thanksgiving . Be blessed.
Thanks again! You as well!
Wow, this guy would have been absolutely terrific!
Thank you!
the first guy definitly got the elvis voice down to a t
Yeah, it took a little practice. I'm from the south and that helps but I'm also a good mimic.
Wow that was a fantastic performance. Shame the scheduling conflicts stopped you doing the role.
Paul Smith Wow! Thank you Paul. Yeah, it would have been nice but that's how it goes in the business! Michael St Gerard did a really nice job. Elvis is a tough character to play. Even my version could have been fine-tuned...as well as the hair! My God, that was a lot of hair! Elvis didn't wear it that way in 1954. I look like him, circa 1960 in that screen test. Thanks!
THYCHANIE Wow, I'm impressed! You really did your homework! Yeah, you mentioned some really good ones, no doubt. Loved Andy Kaufman. I forgot Rob Youngblood and Rick Peters. Dale and Michael are great guys, by the way. Met them both. You're right. Some folks over play and under play the character. In the ABC screen test, I over exaggerated Elvis. And the hair was very post army 1960, not 1954. Too much! The Bill & Ted thing was okay but the series was not well received among purists. And...here's a footnote. You mentioned David Keith. I lost out to him on Heartbreak Hotel. I was too young. Even after gaining 20 pounds for the role, as directed by Chris Columbus. I gotta say, this screen test was my very best attempt at Elvis. Serious and real. The way I always wanted to play him. ua-cam.com/video/1KwjcA7TN3Q/v-deo.html
THYCHANIE Yup. There was a long list of established Hollywood actors up for that role and it wasn't Chris Columbus' fault. I was just too young, opposite Tuesday Weld. I met her and Jerry Schilling at the studio after the screen test. They both were great. Jeffrey Katzenberg and Chris offer wonderful praise. Great moment. Anyway, they wanted an older, early 70's Elvis. Even after gaining 20 pounds, I was just a fat-faced kid but I rocked the house with those screen test. I brought my A-game and gave David Keith a run for his money! Oh well. Such is life, right? The movie was okay. I mean, you had to buy into the premise, first. Anyway, I always wanted to do a serious and real adaptation of Elvis but didn't really get the opportunity. Not on that level, anyway. My Fellow Americans was a great moment as well. To me, that was real Elvis, even though I was playing an impersonator. Only time I ever played an impersonator but for two good reasons: James Garner and Jack Lemmon.
Best I ever seen WOW
Wow that's amazing! great talent!
Dayum!!! You are one fine looking guy!!!
Gee, thanks!
Todd McDurmont BTW... I'm a woman.
Well okay! Glad you liked the video!
Micheal did more than great! They picked the right man for the job!!
have to say 'he does elvis darn good '' 100 times better than most all that played elvis '''
rickynelson1988 Thank you for your comment! I really appreciate that. I always wanted to do a realistic version of Elvis. Very glad you liked it. Made my day!
perfect
Michael did a great job in the TV series but Todd would have brilliant he's got the voice and mannerisms of Elvis down.
Well I think they missed the boat the day they did not sign you to the show you make a great realistic Elvis.....
nope! Michael st Jerard is the best !
I think Michael St Gerard did an outstanding job!
More natural looking then some great job
pretty good man!!! you would have done well if you got it
Thanks Tony! I did my best. I think they gave me points for all that hair!
Todd McDurmont no problem I remember you from Loving I use to watch that when I was high school or at least when I was home!! Plus the hair was perfect and very important. I hate when they do a Elvis movie and the screw the hair up lol
St. Gerard was awesome.
Why didnt they cast u too play as Elvis man u sure looked like the king
+Sunny Baig Politics and contracts.
Oh
super bel homme
Hate to say this Todd as I am one of the biggest Elvis fans there is,,,but your even better looking then the King himself !
If they ever do a bio pic of John travolter a you should definitely play him or even a remake of Grease,,,or even a movie on Rudolph Valentino
Well down mate, great job
He sounds a lot like Elvis.
St. Gerard looks more like Elvis in the mouth area. Otherwise it would be a toss-up without hearing McDurmont perform. Gotta concider that part too!
Why did they pick the wrong guy??
It's a "nope" from me. This guy doesn't make me believe it. Michael St. Gerard was the better pick. Not feeling this at all...
you would of been just as good as Michael St Gerard if not better, you sounded just like Elvis the way you talk, your mannerisms are just like Elvis.
I heard Sam Shepard!!
robby benson,,,
sorry man! your face does not seem resemble like elvis tho... the one who excactly like elvis is Michael St Gerard and hes the real man
Michael edged it on the look but I always thought he lacked a bit of fire behind the eyes. He did a great job though second only to Kurt Russell in acting the part of Elvis.
Michael didn’t fully imitate Elvis, he made his Elvis role his own humanely and realistically enforceable way .
Handsome man, But his look is not the same as ELVIS
Юношей был немного похож, но сейчас-нет. Слишком тяжеловат. У Элвиса все существо устремленно вверх. Он высок, потому что тянется к небесам, на лице печать романтизма, нечто не земное.
He's better looking than Elvis.
This a joke lol 😂
no tienes ni un brillo ...michael st, gerard es mejor
Horrivel isso,um lixo
