  • Col. (ret.) Lawrence Wilkerson's last positions in government were as Secretary of State Colin Powell's Chief of Staff (2002-05), Associate Director of the State Department's Policy Planning staff under the directorship of Ambassador Richard N. Haass, and member of that staff responsible for East Asia and the Pacific, political-military and legislative affairs (2001-02).
    -
Before serving at the State Department, Wilkerson served 31 years in the U.S. Army. During that time, he was a member of the faculty of the U.S. Naval War College (1987 to 1989), Special Assistant to General Powell when he was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1989-93), and Director and Deputy Director of the U.S. Marine Corps War College at Quantico, Virginia (1993-97). Wilkerson retired in 1997 and began work as an advisor to General Powell. He has also taught national security affairs at the George Washington University.

Another excellent podcast , Nima, as all
    your podcasts are!
Col. Wilkerson has an amazingly broad
    based depth of understanding, with
regard to the geopolitics that runs the world!
His insights about the current events
unfolding all around us , are profound and
always on point. I think Col. Wilkerson’s
assessments of what went on with the
    attempted Assassination of Donald Trump,
were incredibly accurate, in light of what we
now know. The analysis of Trump’s
    second presidency, was also quite
enlightening, and no doubt highly accurate
    as well. Col. Wilkerson’s pessimistic
outlook for the U.S., was also quite
insightful and sadly very much on point.
There is an absolute void of leadership
in our country, that will have serious
consequences for us all, short term
    and long term.
Thank you for inviting Col. Wilkerson
back as a guest on your wonderful
podcast. He gives us all a far better
understanding of what is going on
    domestically and abroad. We all
    benefit from his vast knowledge,
    experience and wisdom! You are
doing a terrific job keeping us all
    well informed about current events!
Please keep up the good work!

Colonel Wilkerson, you also need to ask about the Baltimore Bridge:
    1. Why was the Ukrainian captain suddenly removed on the internet site?
    2. How were all facts already known within hours of the accident?
    3. Why were the crew forced to remain on the ship weeks after the accident?
    4. How does this accident tie up a Ukrainian threat to target US infrastructure if we don’t release the 61 billion in aid.
    5. What did they find as the cause of the accident??
US citizens have the attention span of a goldfish and the thinking ability of a slug.

If James Clapper knew Politico and Natasha Bertrand were lying about what their letter from 51 intelligence officials said, why didn't he say so then? The former CIA director Michael Morell, who gave Joe Biden a “talking point” ahead of a debate against then-President Donald Trump, was the CIA contractor at the time. Former CIA inspector general David Buckley also was the CIA contractor at the time of the letter. @@joelbrown2625 Yeah... for sure. Larry's out to lunch here IMHO. I usually like his stuff and I don't agree with everything he says, but this sounds like the same sort of liberal screeching coming from nutcases like on "the View" or whatever, not an intelligent former Colonel like Larry Wilkerson. It's the same panic-mongering nonsense that whips up nutcases like the kid in Pennsylvania. It doesn't contribute anything to the discussion. Same with the nonsense of him becoming a dictator.
Either way we're screwed, and I've believed that we were on a trajectory to being a dictatorship for a long time-- I was convinced that Larry's beloved Bush Jr. would declare martial law and refuse to leave the Presidency. I've seen nothing to dissuade me of that view and thought Obama and even Trump would do the same thing, particularly with as crooked and worthless an election as we had last time. I think it's inevitable that eventually whomever is in charge declares martial law and becomes dictator in chief; Biden may well provoke WW3 and use that as the pretext to do it. This country is increasingly proving itself to be an oligarch/deep state run EMPIRE and while talking about democracy and values increasingly disregards them as an inconvenient facade. At some point they'll just drop the illusion that this country is a democratic republic and show its true colors as the oligarchy and dictatorship that it is.
Either way we're screwed, because REGARDLESS of who wins the "election" (and I use that term loosely) half the country won't accept it... If Trump wins they libtards will scream "fascists!" and if Biden wins half the country will scream "ANOTHER rigged election!" If Trump wins, will he do anything different? CAN he do anything different, or will enough neocons/neolibs infiltrate his administration to stymie anything he wants to do? Even if they don't, they hold so many positions throughout government that they'll simply refuse to obey him... even his own generals didn't obey him last time when he said to pull out of Syria and Afghanistan. What will be different this time? Does anyone actually think that he'll be able to end the Ukraine war? Will the warhawks even allow such a thing? Refuse to fund it, call Putin and ask for terms? Will they allow it? Or will they overthrow him, impeach him, or worse?
If Biden gets reelected, he'll declare it a "victory" for his "mandate" to finish off Russia in Ukraine and to crush Iran and China. If Biden is elected, I guarantee he'll start WW3 and half the human race will die in nuclear war and the aftermath. He will feel SO empowered that he and his group of total screw ups will just pull out ALL the stops and do whatever stupid thing pops into their head and leave the Russians and Chinese NO CHOICE BUT to defend themselves with nuclear weapons. Or some lunatic will convince genocide Joe that a nuclear first strike to take out Russia and China before they can hit us is the only way to go...
Even if RFK were to somehow win, we'd be no better off because he's a stalking horse for Israel and will do whatever they want. SO even if by some miracle he was to get elected, we'd still be in the same position.
Like I said, either way we're screwed...
