This is misleading. Germany's direct aid for Ukraine is being cut because the EU aid package for Ukraine passed. There is no longer a need for individual countries in the EU to give money directly. Ukraine is getting more money in 2024 than it did in 2023 from Europe, it is just coming from the EU directly rather than individual countries. Military aid is still coming from individual countries.

One thing about American funding for Ukraine (and NATO for that matter) that most people don't understand is that it's all borrowed money. You always hear Europeans say that America has lots of money, but we actually don't. America isn't that rich, at least not the federal govt. So they are just adding it to the deficit and the national debt, which is causing inflation and other problems.

There is a pretty good amount of natural resources there in Ukraine, so it would be a big profit for the US if Ukraine wins with as much land preserved as possible.
