Oh Shada I just noticed you hit the one million subscribers…..CONGRATULATIONS !!! I always love watching you and learning. Thanks for a great year in the watercolor world. I’m looking forward to 2023. Happy New Year 🎊🎆
i love this theme so much! and i absolutely love your encouraging spirit that really comes through your videos and voice overs! can't wait to see how this journal comes together through the year!
If you haven't heard, I have a brand new e-course! It's called 'Flower Power' and it's all about defining your own style as a watercolor artist. I also have a beginner watercolor e-course, that will take you through the absolute basics and get you painting with confidence! AND if you want you can bundle them together and save. Check it out at: www.shaydacampbellcourses.com
Love the folk art!!!! SO beautiful!! I would love to see a weekly theme based on Native Canadian Folk Art theme. Like the bear, and fish, birds and feathers with the geometric shape it them.
I was in $rama they had a bullet journal with dot grid...not sure of the quality of the paper. GSM not listed, pages not numbered, spine not bound can see the sewing of the signatures ( not sure what the technical bookbinding name is)
Beautifully made!! I've been following along with your tutorials since almost 2 years and it's been a great experience painting with watercolors and I've been learning so much from each tutorial... thanks for sharing this wonderful bujo setup!! 😊
I love your art Shayda. I appreciate your struggle with perfectionism. It’s a battle for me too. Your art is lovely as are you! You should consider doing a “how to draw” book. Step by step simple drawings. The animals are adorable and your flowers and leaves are beautiful. I’m sure you could get a publisher! Just a thought to tuck away. 😉 Have a blessed Christmas and a Happy 2023🎉
I got nothing to journal about tbh, but it sure is satisfying watching videos of people decorating their bullet journals. (I always use my phone, because every time I pick up a piece of paper I want to doodle LOL ^u^)
And I think you inspired me for my 2023 journal. I’ve been looking at all the Scandinavian folk art for a couple of year and even found a sticker book by susy ultiman so no excuses now!
This is stunning! Normally I am all about the colour, but this year, I am going to try monochromatic. Inspiring! From NZ, our folk lore is Maori Folk lore. We have patterns such as the koru which is beautiful. Stories include the Maui stories and also a favourite of mine is Pania of the reef. A cute whimsical animal you could include is hedgehogs or squirrels.
What a unique theme! I'm always excited to watch your bullet journal videos, but I think this year's theme sounds extra fun :) Thanks for sharing all your hard work
This theme is such a good and unique idea! It turned out beautiful maybe I will have the courage to try it 😅 For monthly theme how about hungarian Matyo or Kalocsai embroidery? It doesn’t have to be that colorful 😅😂🌷
Thanks! So cute. I am doing animals that represent the month with line drawings. My journal is a lot simpler than yours, but I always get so much inspiration! Watched to the end just so you know.
After watching from the sidelines, I’m going to give bullet journaling a shot in 2023. Thanks, Shayda, for your great tutorials. Here’s to a new year 🎉🎉🎉
I don't know if it's really folklore. But an old Swedish tradition of Walpurgis Night is celebrated on April 30th. Like a welcoming of spring - symbolized by wearing white caps with lyre emblems, songs sung around bonfires and eating salmon marinated with salt, sugar and dill. :)
The folklore theme is a great idea…reminds me of Pennsylvania Dutch designs & the Mennonite Quilts at the KitchenerWaterloo market,The Russian stackable wooden dolls as well, wonderful video…
Wow what a beautiful cover page! I think it's one of your best yet!! It's lovely to see a different kind of theme, can't wait for the monthly set ups! Does anyone else use the Archer and Olive Acrylograph pens? I received some in their sub boxes I don't think they work very well at all, but it might be better buying a proper pack of them. Or could anyone recommend a really opaque white pen? I find my gel pen lets darker colours bleed through it. Excited to try some different doodles! Xxx
This is very inspiring! I would LOVE to see a Nordic troll folklore spread. Not sure how it would translate but I am truly interested in how you would approach this!
Can't wait to watch this, Shayda. I'm just stumbling down the rocky road to feed my goats and pups.....haven't watched the previous video about white flowers either!!!!! I'll have a binge ASAP xxxx
Hi Shayda, thanks for the inspirational post. I'll give it a go next year. You still look a bit sick. Take care of yourself and rest up over the Xmas break. Vicky from far north western Australia 🤗🥰
You have to meet the Befana in Italian folklore! She’s an elderly lady who rides a broom and during the last night of Christmas holidays she leaves you a gift if you’ve been good, otherwise she’ll leave you charcoals (usually made of sugar)!
For the first time I was unable to watch your video to the end, because I simply can't look at anything Russian, including dolls, when the Russian missiles are shelling us again (I turned on the video during today's air raid to distract myself). I loved everything that was before that, though - as always, it was beautiful and looked doable for a beginner like myself. If you're planning to do more russian folk art in some of your future month set-ups, would it be too much to ask you to put a trigger warning in the description?
I have the Signo white gel pen, but when I put it over my black background, it ends up looking gray-ish. What is your trick for getting it to look opaque and very white? I’m doing multiple layers but it takes a long time for the under layer to dry - meaning I can’t move on and keep making progress. Am I expecting too much? Being too much of a perfectionist? (it’s OK… One perfectionist can tell another they need to just kind of chill out.😂)
so beautiful! i'm totally vibing navy blue and white right now. Have you seen the Happy Planner Cyanotype sticker book? it's all blue and white florals.... gorgeous! I'm also incorporating the different patterns of blue safety print on the inside of envelopes.... What a lovely intro to your channel. Happy New Year!
Very helpful thank you! ❤ Just a little heads up, at 5:33 it looks like an image you wanted to pop up “went offline” in the software you were using! Looks like the image you wanted to share wasn’t shared. I can’t help but wonder what it was that was supposed to be there! 😂
You are such an amazing artist. If I tried to draw that beautiful swan, it would not look like this!!! I just started working at a community college where I can take free classes. I really need to take a drawing class. I have been doing art for as long as I can remember, but I can still cannot draw very well. My daughter, after not doing art for most of her life, in her 30s just picked up a pen and start drawing as if she had been doing it her whole life. It blew my mind.
This is so pretty! I’m going to enjoy seeing the year unfold. I especially love the idea of the craft tracker. I do lots of crafts and recently started sharing videos. My only tutorial so far has been for binding a sketchbook, but hopefully more will follow.
This was such a beautiful setup! My daughter enjoys watching all your tutorials with me. She would love to try out your animals! What is the cutting mat you are using?
I have the cutest baby hat knitting pattern. I should try and figure out a way to get that to you… Just in case you decide to make it someday. I give this hat as baby gifts and people love it so much.
Yeyy!! I can't believe that is almost 2023.. seems like yesterday you downloaded 2022 Year Setup. Time flies by!! Btw, love you sooo much, Shayda, you inspire me a lot every day💗💗💗

Shayda.... You are SOOOOOO talented! OMG i LUUUUUUV your art!! And your journal set ups. And your videos. I love how you show "mistakes"/improvements/modifications. I've been journaling (trying to...) since March 2020 (COVID...). I am not artsy, not by a long shot, even though I've always wanted to be able to draw. Your step-by-step instructions are incredibly helpful and show me it is still feasible for me at 55 years old to learn ;-) I'm definitely subscribing to your Patreon! As @desireehouse said: Here's to a new year! May it be full of peace, joy, health and wealth.
I love the Swan. 😊 I'm going to try and restart a journalling habit next year, though I think my style is more of an art/collage of found objects and photos journal than actually writing down my thoughts. 😊
This is so pretty! Am I the only one who unconsciously tried to blow away the eraser dust from her page? 🤦♂️
No defiantly not
That would make us two 😂♥️
😂😂😂
I would love to see some garden gnomes!
Good idea!
Love this idea! So excited to try this in my bullet journal!
So beautiful ❤️❤️

Hi Shayda! Thank you very much for this tutorial! It was really needed and it’s one of your best ones yet ❤
Thank you so much!
Hi just a question! Where do u think is the best place to buy a bullet journal from? Because I can’t seem to find a good one😅
Mine is from Archer & Olive
Archer & Olive Notebook: www.archerandolive.com/collec...
Yessss so excited for the long video! I wish I had your talent - your art is absolutely stunning!
Thank you so much!!
Wow what a beautiful cover page! I think it's one of your best yet!! It's lovely to see a different kind of theme, can't wait for the monthly set ups! I also find that white gel markers don't cover well. I use a Posca white paint marker L3.1. It is not as smooth as a gel pen but covers much better.
Love your videos! You make art more approachable. Where can I find your paper knife?
That one I picked up at a local shop
This is very inspiring! I would LOVE to see a Nordic troll folklore spread. Not sure how it would translate but I am truly interested in how you would approach this!
I am going to think about this one! 😂

Wow. Its all very pretty but so overwhelming. Doubt It's something I would want to try as a beginner.
Wooww love the theme fir the year❤️❤️💯💯love folk and cottage core stuff
I love this folklore theme.
I think I will do some similar pages in my bujo. The best is the cute bunny, jumping over the house 🥰
I have the cutest baby hat knitting pattern. I should try and figure out a way to get that to you… Just in case you decide to make it someday. I give this hat as baby gifts and people love it so much.
Do you still have your own watercolor brushes?? Can't find them
You are absolutely right! I always think my work is bad right after completion but if i look at it some time later, it is not that bad after all haha
Love this so much. Especially the white on black animals. So cute!
❤❤❤❤
ngl this is my first time seeing non-asian doing bujo and i love it it's fresh
I love how you broke this down into chapters. It makes it easier to find what you are looking for.
I love the idea,I get a lot of inspiration from your work!
Congratulations on 1 million 🎉, 🙏🏽 for healing
I did …. Y tried to do it, but my acrylograph broke down…. 😔
56:18 Oops! Now we know you use Adobe Premiere to edit your videos.😉🙃
Hello from a fellow Ontario dweller!

It would be really cool to see a Scottish kelpie, in a little under water theme.
Do you mean Molo-toff markers? Mulatto is not the word. 🚫
It turned out wonderful. Where is the pencil case from?

I'm going to try and restart a journalling habit next year, though I think my style is more of an art/collage of found objects and photos journal than actually writing down my thoughts. 😊
The great thing about bullet journaling is how flexible and personalized it is!!
You've done it again, Shayda! It's beautiful!!!
I'd love to see Martenitsa (мартеница) from Bulgaria! ❤️🤍❤️🤍
Great idea!!
I'd like to see a Selkie theme, it's the seal woman from Scotland
I love to doodles my name is Be i am not violent and my favorite color is orange
Does anyone have a source for that type of paper cutter/knife?
This is so pretty! As for odd folklore, I vote for the Not Deer (Appalachian Mountains, primarily West Virginia) because if I try to draw a deer it won't come out quite right and will therefore be exactly like a Not Deer, which are creatures that look like deer at first glance but are subtly... wrong. Kind of creepy though as far as I know they don't do anything besides creep people out. Mermaids would look better, though, lol.
haha I should not have googled that, very creepy looking :P Maybe mermaids!!
Definitely the year to follow along! Gorgeous! 💕🌺
Thank you!
I always look forward to your setups and this one was such a surprise. What a wonderful and different theme for you. I think you should keep Krampus in mind for next December ;)
A surprise for all of us :P
Great idea!
I love the theme for this upcoming year! These yearly spreads were so pretty! As a crafter/maker, I love the idea of setting up a tracker just for crafting/making. You said you wanted to focus on fiber arts this year. Have you thought about spinning your own yarns? There’s a shop on Etsy that sells 3-D printed plastic spindles for around $15. It’s a great way to try spindle spinning without investing a huge amount of money. I started with spindles and then went to a kick spindle and now I’ve got a couple of spinning wheels. 😊 I’d totally recommend going right for the wheel, but they tend to be pretty expensive. Oh a new craft! 😂 I have to look into this
@shaydacampbell - I love your video! For other month's inspiration why not use an African legend like the story of the sun and the bushmen, or using our animals like the hare and the lion / the jackal and the lion? I bear such great respect for our bushmen / koi people.
Great suggestion!
Please consider La Llorona from Mexico for October! I’m loving this years theme. I think for once I’m actually going to try following along with you. Usually I just watch for inspiration but I feel like this next year I need someone else to take most of the wheel/plan the trip. 😂
I'll check it out! Thanks :)
Great tutorial for beginners to bullet journalling, I am going to try, never journalled before 💖🙏
Have fun!

Try to make sure the background is fully dry
what brand of paperknife are you using?
Thank you for the inspiration. I went to your Amazon Favorite Things and looked through items used and I didn't see that paper knife you showed, where can I get this, it looks perfect for me. TIA
This one I found at a local shop, I'm always on the lookout for binder clips and pretty things locally
I wish I hadn’t started my journal before seeing your video. I am going to use some of your ideas for the rest of my journal. Beautiful ideas.
Please do!
Thank you Shayda….your art is stunning, happy Xmas holidays 🎄💐💕🌟🍒
