I've came from a swimming background and going to compete in my first sprint distance triathlon in March, so this video was very useful since I have no knowledge on tri suits at all
Very helpful! From the video my take away is to go for cycling jersey and tri shorts, as I will be participating in my first sprint triathlon
I was just about to buy my first suit. Thank you Taren!
Hi Taren, just wanted to let you know that I’m still wearing the “ trainiac” cycling apparel my son surprised me with 4 years ago, when I turned 50.
Anyway…keep up the good work!👍
13 watts at 50km/h and only at that speed. that is a relative number, you cannot say people save 13 watts at 35 or 40km/h, that would be significantly less!
Still, that should be in the neighborhood of 5 watts just by changing your shirt, so not nothing.
Thanks for the nice summary! Looking int o doing a few sprints this summer... Time to stop being fat and be healthy, and your videos are incredibly helpful!!
Jumping in to triathlons with a sprint Tri and I’ll likely be needing a wet suit for the swim portion (event is local in MN in June time). Option 3 is preferred for me. Would you suggest wearing the Tri short and cycling jersey under the wet suit?
That’s a nice Cotopaxi jacket.
But how many watt you gain with long sleves, respect to short?
Since when does a long sleeve not cover the entire arm?
LOL I just knew it was my equipment 😉
Where can I get the tri suit you have on in the video ?
Big guns over speed, short sleeve.
Dam where was this video two days ago? Ohwell i only paid $100 for a short sleeve suit
🤚🏼
Sleeved - because sleeveless leaves you with really odd looking tan lines.
Not if you train shirtless haha :)
@@ADM-wt9cn then you wouldn't be wearing a suit, would ya!
@@kevingregory-evans6285 haha i meant for training! That way when race day comes you have a nice even bronze even after the race! Cheers
@@ADM-wt9cn I get it, good point :) only posers would wear tri suits for training, lol. I won't do that again!
I'm a larger athlete and prefer to wear cycling bibs as part of my tri kit. The $40 set of bibs from theblackbibs.com have turned out to be my favorite. While the padding is larger than a standard set of tri shorts I have found it to be pretty comfortable on both the swim and the run. The biggest thing for me is having something that doesn't ride down during the race, being bibs they stay put the entire time and offer a bit of compression around my mid section. I've tried one piece suits, and for me they just aren't as practical or flattering.
