@@DisorientedWanderer Yep. Gwyneth Paltrow suddenly realized there there are people crazy enough to throw away their 'money for nothing' (that's a song btw) and capitalized on it as unethical as it is.
From what I've heard about Ice Man (as in, UA-cam comments on Jontron's video and on reactions to it. What can I say, clearly the best sources), he and his family are basically genetically adapted to resist both the cold and some illnesses. I specifically remember a story where his brother was tested, and had pretty much the exact same strengths without doing all the crazy stuff that Ice Man does.
Yep, saw a video about it recently. Apparently his brother has exactly the same tolerance to cold temperatures without doing any exercise and having a few unhealthy habits. It has nothing to do with training. If I remember right their family genetics make it so their bodies generate a higher amount of a certain type of fat, cholesterol or something of the sort, which in turn helps their bodies keep their body heat. The guy is a charlatan.

I remember reading about something similar where some guy claimed he could control his temperature at will, and researchers found out he could, through the power of suggestion, force his immune system to activate, causing a fever. For some reason he was just very suseptible to the nocebo effect. That kind of thing is the closest you can get to X-Men mutants really.
The sex educator episode was the only good one because not only is there stuff that is actually real but that lady called out Gwyneth on her bullshit.

I just want to say that Chad has a good head on his shoulders. On the topic of the people that "discover" these new medical treatments, why haven't these methods been taught in school or used by doctors?
While you have a point, I will also point out the fact that good medicine and advancements *are* often suppressed and shouted down by people with a financial incentive to do so. Remember the time when doctors swore cigarettes were totally healthy and even promoted them?

I don't know if he'd 100% disagree or agree with the message of the episode but since his videos are meant more for entertainment each segment is designed for ppl to laugh at the absurd. I could see why he may not have wanted to make fun of this one. They're real ppl and might've not wanted to body shame anyone at the expense of a cheap laugh. that's just my take on it tho. I didn't watch the episode but I take it the point was to help ppl with body dysmorphia. seems like a touchy subject I'd not want to make light of either. It would've come of as meanspirited instead of just "Can you guys believe they did this?" which I believe is the tone of the video

I haven't seen the episode but I think I get where Nikki was coming from on why she felt that episode was positive for women and it has to do with female socialization which is different from male socialization. There's this underlying shame that society has towards older women past their 30s where there's a stereotypical belief that women's bodies start to decline and look unappealing and so the reason why that segment was positive was because it was older women embracing aging and acceptance of their matured bodies and not having shame for it and I feel like that's why Nikki thought it was a positive message.

I'd understand the breathing technique if it was for deep diving, which is all about controlling how much air you can store in your lungs.
So, unless this has somethong to do with how breathing regulates the blood flow, which kinda impacts the bodily temperature... I kinda don't see it. I mean, it kinda makes sense, scientifically speaking, but I don't think it's gonna be nearly enough to help you prevent hypothermia.

I don't think she is doing it for money though because she is already extremely rich. I think she is doing it for attention and an attempt to get some greater purpose in life. She might even believe this stuff actually works, which does make me feel kinda sad for her. If only her personality didn't suck.
I disagree, but I definitely agree that she doesn't NEED more money like the average person does. But rich people can be motivated to get more money as well; the difference is that it just doesn't impact their personal life too much normally, it's more about investing and making their money grow.
Those other things could definitely be playing a part though, and if they do they probably have an equal level of importance to her.
Problem that people with a lot of money has: They want more because they don't have respect for the amount they already have.
If she indeed didn't do it for money, the stuff she has wouldn't be that expensive.
