This is an awesome build!! Practical. Efficient. Neat. Professional. Maximum use of space. Logical. I live in Australia and I would love to have one, or the blueprints. A fantastic product. Well done.
Awesome, clean build. Very well thought out. I'm planning on doing a similar setup with mine except with a modular bed mounting system so I can raise the bed and have dirtbikes in the garage.
Awesome build. The only downside I see with this is the shower setup. Have you thought about doing some kind of retractable curtain that retracts into the floor when not in use, so that the person can just step in the middle and pull straight upwards? Seems like a better experience versus folding / packing away a curtain each time.
@@masondahl Thanks! If the shower pan was deeper that might be an option but it’s only 1 inch deep. The Tetravan folding shower 2.1 has exactly what you’re describing. I was considering going that route but the fridge is where the shower would be mounted.
Not a prepper. They don't advertise what they have. Sadly if S_HTF comes rigs like these will be taken and made huge targets. The key is to appear like just a commercial, boring rig on the outside. Outside of that, amazing rig for current day.
A very impressive build. Can't even imagine the amount of hours dedicated to this. I just got mine last week, after 3y of waiting for the van to arrive, after watching your video I feel like I never will be able to finish the project. How much work was done personally by you? Was it a two-year project? Did you keep the spreadsheet of the total expenses? Is it 60-80k or more?
Thanks and good luck with your build! I did all the work and it took 6 months for me to complete. Total cost for all the parts was $108,000. Here's the link to the spread sheet of all the parts with cost. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/134Von7jIUdD0icGdLqtropvKX4N-_6jzQEKB7KmLpMQ/edit?usp=sharing
@@seano2445 Yes, the 108k seems to be more appropriate. You didn't cut any corners, you used the best stuff available. I have seen many builds on UA-cam, yours so far in the top 3, or maybe the best. I'll do a few things differently (second-row seats, shower) but it doesn't mean that it's going to be better. Good luck with the sale! It is worth every penny!
Beautiful van! Job very well done! I have a 22 3500xd 170ext 4x4 that I plan to start building this year. I'd love to reach out and ask a few questions about your 80/20 to have a nice face that your cabinet doors shut against. Very clean!
Hey Sean, nice meeting you today at the show. (Jason) Question, If i bought the moab bed and wall mount brackets could I in fact use that system? Need height for a motorcycle.
Hey Jason, great meeting you and thanks for stopping by. I just checked the mounting for the bed and the forward attachment points are behind the cabinets, so unfortunately it would not work.
Thanks! I found that roof solar wasn't necessary with the 640ah of batteries and high output secondary alternator. My power consumption, on average, is 20-30% per day and I'm usually not staying in the same spot more than 2 days. Here's some thoughts from another van owner on this topic. ua-cam.com/video/xEA-WW3h2yo/v-deo.htmlsi=EmSHkeYxCLsLDqdW&t=720
Thanks! I used double lug studs (link below) and 1/8” aluminum flat bar. Drilled the flat bar to accept the stud and mounts and then painted it black to match the L-track. Let me know if you want a close up picture. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BY7V8RWV/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The temp is a bit lower behind the door if it’s closed. I thought about installing Espars’s external temp sensor but I just keep the door open when it’s in use.
I want to build another van. I was traveling and living full time in the van from last summer to spring. Now that I’m done traveling I’d like to build a 144 wheel base van with a different layout that’s more suitable for weekend trips vs full time living.
Just the 320 AH batteries are around 4k PER unit. Plus if you can find 4x4 van all the parts including suspension, electronics, furnishings, for 130k plus have the know how and time to build it out. Go for it! You'll have a sweet van for a really good price!

Wow. Whoever built this is not just an avid outdoors person but also likely a doomsday survival prepper who spared no expense.

Amazing van and build dude! Funny how people talk about the price like a normal person can whip this out in a week. Great work!

Does having the espar heater controller behind the cabinet door mess with the thermostats ability to accurately control the temperature
