We've all been waiting so long and it was SO worth the wait!! this cast is amazing, and Walker is the most perfect cast for Percy!! he brought his sarcasm to the screens so well.
The fact that Jason Mantzoukas, Lin Manuel Miranda and Adam Copeland are in this hyped me up. Right off the bat in episode 1, we can all agree they nailed the series. This is a proper Percy Jackson adaptation.
Like everybody gaslighting Percy in the first 15 minutes of episode 1 is going to give this poor kid so many more issues! And I can’t get over how small these actual children are! They’re babies!
girl honestly I also watched the first movie before reading the books and say what you want about the ridiculous choice to entirely change the plot but that movie got me to read the books, which I fell in love with and I will always have the movie to thank for that
The first time I watched the movies, was before reading the books. I loved them, I still do but I treat them as something not even related to the books😂😂
honestly as a die-hard fan of the books and someone who's been hyped af since the announcement of the show,I thought the pilot was solid & the second episode was PERFECT Walker's chemistry with everyone is insanely good (especially Virginia & Aryan) Aryan was also amazing & Leah didn't have much in the second epiosde but I liked her IM IN LOVE WITH DIOR & CHARLES 🛐 I'll not be able to shut up if I start talking more about it
I just want to say (not targeted to anyone in particular) but we need to spread good word and good review for this show so that it at least gets greenlit for a season 2 please. Yes there are minor changes from the books and yes we all need to get our opinions out there but if there is no s2 they will never get a chance to improve from s1. Pleeeeeeaaaassseee
as a die-hard fan of the books, I think the movies are awful, HOWEVER I will give points to the first one for being visually stunning, it was a very good-looking movie, the second was just terrible though that's why I'm so happy we have this series that's just all-around incredible edit: also I love the end credits, and you'll notice the artwork is in the same style as the original covers of the books which i love ^^
I about had a heart attack seeing this. One of my favorite UA-camrs reacting to one of my favorite book series??? This is sooo good! I'm a huge fan of the books!
I watched a video the other day on how The Sorcerer/Philosopher Stone is basically a Christmas movie and its director was the right one for it because of his experience with another Christmas movie (Home Alone), so you’re onto something.
Great review I think we can all agree much closer to the books, and the trio are great along with the rest of the cast. I think from the next episode it will get really good as the quest begins. As for the length of the episodes, if you think about it it's purely financial Disney want to get as much money as possible from the series after all they paid out a lot of money to bring it to us so I personally don't mind.😊
I remember i’m still a 7th grade student when the book came out in my country(I’m from Vietnam) at first I though it would just another time book that I just read 1 time and throw it on the shelf. But I was wrong, after 3 chapter i decide to stop and read it from the beginning, and for the next 4 month i keep reading it again and again. The movie came out like 2 3 months later and for the first time I ask my parents if I can watch it at the cinema. And it was fantastic. To be honest, I like both adaptations, each of them has its own unique trait that I ever imagine. The movie is great with the monster, the Fate sister, the gods,… although the main cast is a bit mature compare to the book but their chemistry is interesting. The Tv series has Percy the way I imagine about him, the way he talk, his act and the camp is beautiful. I hope the series get renew. And I’m gonna be honest here, I want to see Nico x Will so bad, they gonna be so cute😂😂😂😂😂 Great reaction, I’m suprise that you’re a fan of the book as well, your hair is so lovely today 🎉🎉🎉
I really liked the first movie and watching the movies inspired me to read the series, although I skipped the first two books because I'd seen the movies (probably slightly sacrilegious lol) My Christmas movie that isn't a Christmas movie is Shreck!
Olivia Rodrigo is a confessed Percy Jackson fan girl who apparently wrote a ton of Percy Jackson ship songs in her youth. It was probably VERY easy for Disney to convince her to let them use a song. :) I just hope she releases some of those songs, tho! XD
I definitely think the PJ movie was a lot of fun and generally a cool thing to see a Greek myths movie, but it felt so heartless… especially compared to the book and now this series- the movie was practically emotionless
The first Percy Jackson movie wasn't that bad it's kinda over hated. But I can admit this is ten times better than the movie because there using a slower pace taking their time to set things up.
For me, I watched the movie first when it came out. I didn’t read the books until 2020 when the news was announced by Rick Riordan. I didn’t read the series when I was a kid and I really wish I did. I really loved both episodes. They were so so good and so accurate to the book. And yes, the episode titles are named after the chapters which I really liked. 😊
I watched the Sea of Monsters movie years before I read the books and I still like it better than the first movie, I actually enjoy watching it sometimes
I haven't read the books, but I did see the first movie even though I don't remember much of anything. What is interesting to me is that the mom attracts/is attracted to someone like Poseidon is supposed to be noble, handsome, etc., but ends up with someone like Gabe. How/Why? lol
I believe it’s something along the lines of him being a drunk and gross and smelly helper hide Percy longer as most of the creatures after him use smell to track. So I’m the books she’s with him to help protect Percy. I’m pretty sure but I could be wrong
@@devinbartlett8237 actually that's exactly right in the books, Gabe is described as so incredibly human-smelling in the worst way possible that he protects Percy just by living in the same space as him, and Sally felt that was the only way she could keep her son safe since he was attracting monsters from day one
The first movie was good enough to make me read the books. It was tonally all wrong, cut the most important scenes, and changed the villain, but it was well directed, visually interesting, and the basic structure of the story is there. As for the second movie, there were about three scenes I liked (taxi, Hermes, ending with Thalia) and the soundtrack was good too.
I never read the books, just saw the movies some years ago, and the first 2 episodes i just saw in the end for me were exactly like what i remember from the first movie, so i wonder why people say the movie was sooo bad and the show now makes it all right 🤔Of course it could be what happened later in the movies, but people haven't seen how that is in the show.
As someone who has never read the books and have desire to, I actually liked the movies. The inaccuracies don't really bother me. I liked them as a stand alone. This series is good too so far, but I think I do prefer for the characters to be a bit older. Even for fantasy, it just seems even more far fetched for them to be so young amd doing all this.
I was like 7 when the first movie came out and like 2 when the first book was released so I saw the movie before fully reading the books. I actually didn’t read the first book until after reading book 2 till 5 and right before starting with the next series so I really liked the movie before and I still can appreciate it for what it is but after reading the books I don’t like it anymore lol
Sorry to disappoint you but Logan and the rest of the old cast is not going to be in the show because Rick Riordan want this to be original as possible. And honestly I agree with him I don’t want the movies to gets compared to the show
I have to say the show is great, the pacing is just really fast, it’s super jarring. We barely get enough time to digest what’s happening. Episodes feel short and I think they wanna fit as much as possible into 6-10 episodes.
Im enjoying it but the dialogue is generic if rick make a chinese pantheon series i might be interested for me i would like it if sun wu kong is the main protagonist but he is reincarnated in the modern day and didnt complete journey to west he died on purpose but in order to be reborn he has to enter the body of women thats compatible and has a lot of spirit energy so he manage to enter the body of this k pop or j pop idol why j pop or k pop is because for comedic porpuses even though he is in their Chinese pantheon he isnt even chinese not that hes chinese to begin with he was a monkey he enters this idols body and becomes her child this idol is a young girl who is only 20 years old she has never been in a relationship but is now pregnant with sun even though sun just wanted to use her to be reborn she still chooses to keep him and love him even though she has no idea whats going on flash forward 13 years later sun is a teenager abd yes his name is still sun wukong and he has all his memeories from his previous life but he is still weak because he is now a human and people think he is weird for saying he is the great sage equal to heaven but always get his ass handed to him by bullys. His personality is that he is arragont and mischievous but he kind because of how he was raised,at this point of the story the only person that he care about is his mom and one of the drama would be what would happen if he told her what he did to her, would she still love him.one day his mom went missing when he went home from school and a demon attack him but he was safe by his one friend who was (the son of a demon or god or something,i dont know what)he is a quiet kid who didnt stand out but because sun accidentally save him from being bullied and they now they bully sun instead if him even though sun was arrogant and mischievous he never blame him and said "those weaklings could never beat me im the monkey king"even though they beat him up almost everyday he befriended him even though he think hes weird, sun didn't know who he was but he found out now.he guided sun to this school in the spirit realm for people like him because many demons and god children and other beings here as well.flash forward again after getting to know the school and meet some wacky characters sun duel with one of the strongest character in school and after getting beat up and almost losehe finally awaken his powers and gets his staff and fights the guy he was overpowering him for awhile but still lose because he ran out of magic or something and was knocked out.sun later found out because he is human now he has to train hard to become strong mentally and physically so through out the story he will go through a lot of hardships and grow both in strength and character and this first book is about saving his mother same as percy and something that has to do with Chinese mythology that threatens the world if you have a better idea tell me i would love to hear it.he also has a love interest this serious no nonsense girl who is pretty zen but gets angry at sun for always annoying her her only friend is the guy that beat sun and he likes her she is the daughter of the jed emperor throughout the series she becomes more friendly and playful even though sun and her has a fremies relationship at first and in ine the book's she admits to sun that she likes him and that causes a funny situation where this girl even though serious would try to flirt with him and sun wouldn't know how to react to her advances.what do you think and if some people are feeling weird about sun basically an adult in a kids body dont think about it too much remember the movie big
School part cut too short completely taking off the relationship between Mr Brunner, Percy and Grover. An unecessary "child hallucination" adition not in the book. A weird geek Gabe that don't convinced compared to Joe Pntoliano movie "drunk" bully. Annabeth completely stoic and dstant of Percy, not nursering him or presenting him to the camp. Luke without charisma, charm, popularity incapable even to give a laugh. Grove insipid (why they make him testify against Percy? Tha is not in the book and was ridiculous!) But I don't blame the actors... This is director's cut fault or bad screenplay work. But there are good parts: Percy, Sally, Mr D and Clarisse characters were perfect. The minotaur action scene was much better than the movie, and the Camp and the flag battle was alright (except to Annabeth pushing Percy part - that was awfull).
2 bad that they didn't explain th whole thing hb th flame of th west, how th gods still exist n are in america etc, atc.. i mean, it's kind of th basis of everything, yanno

You have a good singing voice. Also I loved the movies and just recently read the first book. I can't find the second book anywhere now.
If you have the kindle app on any device most of the Percy Jackson books are on there, not sure how much it costs tho
Bruh no one does 50 minute episodes, 40-45 is usually the longest they get and that’s what next episode is
Your gonna LOVE Annabeth 😂❤
i think those scenes with the voice, is Kronos maybe? i know a few times in the series percy had those dreams. Could also be Hades as well.
Nightmare before Christmas always gotta watch at Christmas time and Halloween too
They got Rick Riordan the guy who wrote the books working on the show😂
