Bought this pump and installed it with a new battery. After a year the power failure red light came on, alarm sounds nonstop and the backup pump doesn't work. Any ideas?
That power strip is wrong. Whether code or not in your area, it defeats the point of a backup system. As soon as that pit floods, strip will trip the breaker. Outlet should be on a non-GFI (usually) circuit and up on the ceiling joists. That's why they come with ~8 foot cords. I know I am replying to an old post, but this isn't right wiring -wise. You want the sump on a non-GFI circuit, above water point, and dedicated to the sump.
Hi, I have the same system and noticed during testing that when the backup pump is operating the battery indicator turns yellow. After it finishes the cycle, the indicator turns back to green. The battery should indeed be fully charged. Does yours do the same thing? Thx

No. When mine is operating without AC power, only red and green lights are on, even while backup pump is running.
Did you also drill a vent hole?
