Being born into an English speaking family and country, I love all the different accents applied to the English language around the world. I think they should all be celebrated! Thanks for the great video!!!
I lived in the UK for many years as an overseas student. Based on my experience, the most confusing accents are definitely Scottish, Scouse, and Yorkshire.
Although I am Russian, I am quite used to UK accents from watching UA-cam, movies, stand-up comedy (for example, Stewart Lee; he's a genius and so am I because I like him), all the stuff. The Irish accents were really freaking my brain out in the beginning of my English journey, but I got a bit used to it by watching professor Moriarty 😃from the Sixty Symbols channel and Dara O'Briain's stand-up. Still harder to understand than most accents. The Black Country accent was interesting and a bit more familiar, not hard to understand, just unusual for typical UK content on UA-cam. The Newcastle accent, though, was super easy to understand to the point of being boring. I really like many UK accents for their diphthongs and other speech patterns, they just sound more colorful, if that phrase even makes sense. The Newcastle accent was practically bereft of that.
I really love this kinds of videos. They are the real people that you would find out, and you would have to talk to them. By the way, I come from Chile, and confirm that our chilean-spanish accent sound like Belfast guy, here in LATAM hahaha. I feel you, Belfast bro!!😅
You know, North Irish accent was so hardest to absorb. When You put New Castle accent I started differentiating more simple. Sometimes Fluent Irish speech sounds harder than American speech for a non native speaker. ❤
I may dissapoint you, but there's a big difference between the Belfast accent and the one from Ballymena or Coleraine. So don't count on only one Northen Irish accent 😊
This lass from Antrim, Northern Ireland turns to me as we were heading home from our friend's house party & said "yeel bee hominunuur" and I, an Englishman, had to say "Er, excuse me please" about 3 times before she carefully pronounced out "you'll be home in an hour".
Greetings from Brazil! I'm learning english now a days and I love the british accent. I loved the brazilian meme you used. Her name is Renata Sorrah, she´s one of the most important brazilian actress. Brazilian soap operas great star.
I'm from Belfast and your accent is good!!!. Although Derry Girls is a totally different accent from Belfast. Would be interested if you could pick this up
It is really hard to understand, mainly to an english brazilian student more used to the american accent. I can understand you pretty well, and your accent is very beautiful, making me remember (in comparison) the occasions I listened to portuguese from Portugal or Africa, but this other one is really tough to understand at first. Thanks for your dedication at teaching.
The head of my Degree at Uni was from Northern Ireland and I don’t think I understood a single thing she said the whole 3 years at Uni! My manager where I worked while at Uni was a Brummie. She had a strong accent generally but whenever she was talking to another person from there you wouldn’t be able to understand a word she said.
I can understand the accent from new castle much better than other two. The black country is very difficult. I think the hardest is the Scouse accent and some accents from Ireland....
So. I am English living in California 25 years and I still don’t understand them. Someone was telling me about the AI app Claude and it took me ages to find it because I heard CLOD!
Watching your this video I lol , it is a fun! When people say that my English is an English accent! I lol because this no such thing as English accent!
I am very enthusiastic buy and join to member ship and join to the bigest your accent cours but im living in the that country Sanctioned by Google and global online payment systems This resone make me limit😢
Is italki the only platform you're on? And do you charge solely on a per class basis? Was wondering if a long term commitment might make one eligible for discounted fees. Perhaps through another platform, your own website maybe? Is there an alternative to italki and booking single lessons/classes? Also, could you recommend an alternative to ELSA AI that teaches you the standard British accent as opposed to ELSA's American accent? Thanks and regards.
"When they meet someone who doesn't have this accent" Please explain when anyone ever met anyone with an RP accent. They literally don't even exist. They're actors.
Please don't be afraid about "the Hardest british accent to understand" not so long time and all people will start to speak russian or chinese or arabic! That's the real future.
I wish all humanity could speak all languages at once. Perhaps centuries from now, but it's possible. It would be neat to have so many ways to express a thought.

Geordie & Scouse are a nightmare for me 😅 I really need to focus all the time, and I still get the gist only.
Swede that lived in CA for decades - I really have a problem with accents from UK, As you stated, it has to do with what you are used to.
