Just the presence of his 7ft, 300-Lbs. frame would force the Celtics to have to put Kendrick Perkins + a body on him every time down floor, freeing up so many available rebounds for Pau Gasol & Lamar Odom, who were both playing out of position in that series because of the absence of Andrew Bynum. The whole Lakers frontline was so absolutely getting pushed around and abused by the enormous physical frontline of the Celtics w/ Kendrick Perkins, Kevin Garnett, Glen Big Baby Davis, Leon Powe, Scott Pollard & PJ Brown under the basket the entire series, making Pau Gasol look like an oversized woman who should shave off his beard & put on a mini dress.

Game 6 was a blowout both in 2008 and 2010. To make definitive statements about the two series based on those games is silly. If 2010 was close then 2008 was as well. In fact 2008 had more close games leading up to the game 6 blowout..
This is one of my all-time favorite Kobe games. I remember watching this and I feel like this and Lebron’s 2012 Game 6 ECF performance were two truly Jordan-esque performances I have seen in the last 20 years.

It ain't gonna be like it was from 04-08 Bruh. Lakers are in horrible condition. The difference was, in 04 when the championship core disbanded...in coming years they were able to keep two vital things they don't have at all right now : 1) A hall of fame coach in Phil Jackson, who had got them 3 rings previously 2) A superstar in Kobe entering his prime So they were literally only a few pieces away from contention then, after the 04-05 disaster season where they missed the playoffs and Rudy was coaching..Phil came back and they were AT LEAST in the 7 seed for consecutive years, meaning all they needed was another star player (Pau Gasol) to get them right back to glory. But THIS rebuilding Lakers squad has a Kobe Bryant on his very last legs (probably will retire in a season or two..so there's no future with him) a Steve Nash in the same dilemma, limited draft picks in the coming years, no great coach to rely on, and most IMPORTANTLY and above all things no Dr. Buss. Lakers are stuck with Jimmy...who has done a terrible job thus far. It all started with the failed Chris Paul trade and it ALLL went downhill from there. I can go on further about how lakers will be bad for awhile and it won't be a quick rebuild...but I I've said enough for now
Creative Lakers will always be a prime time with the history and location! The ability to offer a significant amount of money that they can offer to any Free Agents (most top level Free Agents know this) will be an added advantage with the calibre of the available Unrestricted or Restricted Free Agents out there! They have a huge Salary Cap available since they only have Kobe Bryant/Swaggy P/Jordan Hill in their roster plus the rookies that they have like Jeremy Clarkson and Julius Randle (will they resign Jeremy Lin for his Asian Influence?) Marketing is about everything a great team have and JLin17 is a decent back-up PG capable of leading the second unit.

this was a dam good Laker team and it got smoked by the Celtics. Boston that year was on-point and no Ariza or Artest to guard Paul Pierce was a advantage to Celtics.
Plus, no Bynum to protect the paint, provide rebounding, low post scoring, and take some pressure off Pau.

Other than one year during the decade (2003), Kobe was destroying the Spurs almost every series. Any time Kobe had just one other all-star to play with he never lost a Western Conference Finals.

As a laker fan i expect another quick rebuild period, not a slow one. Us laker fans are spoiled tho, just thinking about it, we lost in 2004 and the team crumbled to how it is nowadays…then, just FOUR years later we're back in the finals again and continue to win two after that…so if the lakers aren't elite again within 2 years you can expect a ton of hate Jim Buss

It ain't gonna be like it was from 04-08 Bruh. Lakers are in horrible condition. The difference was, in 04 when the championship core disbanded...in coming years they were able to keep two vital things they don't have at all right now :
1) A hall of fame coach in Phil Jackson, who had got them 3 rings previously
2) A superstar in Kobe entering his prime
So they were literally only a few pieces away from contention then, after the 04-05 disaster season where they missed the playoffs and Rudy was coaching..Phil came back and they were AT LEAST in the 7 seed for consecutive years, meaning all they needed was another star player (Pau Gasol) to get them right back to glory.
But THIS rebuilding Lakers squad has a Kobe Bryant on his very last legs (probably will retire in a season or two..so there's no future with him) a Steve Nash in the same dilemma, limited draft picks in the coming years, no great coach to rely on, and most IMPORTANTLY and above all things no Dr. Buss. Lakers are stuck with Jimmy...who has done a terrible job thus far. It all started with the failed Chris Paul trade and it ALLL went downhill from there. I can go on further about how lakers will be bad for awhile and it won't be a quick rebuild...but I I've said enough for now
Creative Lakers will always be a prime time with the history and location! The ability to offer a significant amount of money that they can offer to any Free Agents (most top level Free Agents know this) will be an added advantage with the calibre of the available Unrestricted or Restricted Free Agents out there!
They have a huge Salary Cap available since they only have Kobe Bryant/Swaggy P/Jordan Hill in their roster plus the rookies that they have like Jeremy Clarkson and Julius Randle (will they resign Jeremy Lin for his Asian Influence?) Marketing is about everything a great team have and JLin17 is a decent back-up PG capable of leading the second unit.
They had a lot of cap space last summer too lol. Didn't seem to capitalize off that. Idk bruh it just seems to me that the laker appeal is shrinking
