Good interview, but he's delusional if he doesn't think this won't hurt Brian's chances of landing another HC gig. I'll be shocked if he ever coaches in the NFL again.
I love Colin Cowherd. I agree with him about Rodgers, Baker, Garapallo, cousins, and Lebron. But a couple days ago he said Flores needed to look at himself in the mirror and take responsibility for not getting along with upper management and ownership. He hear Brian Flores was rigid and hard to work with. He heard what the Dolphins wanted him to tell his followers. I understand, Colin didn’t know what he knows now and he has Brian’s back. It’s ok to be wrong and uninformed. I just wonder how many times teams have leaked bad info about ex players or coaches that was passed on by people in the media we respect to sway our opinions? Brian Dlores is a great coach. The Dolphins roster is trash. Tua is a decent NFL backup. So is Fitzmagic. He’s better than Rivera, Arians, Gruden, McCarthy, Rule, and a lot of other coaches including the Chargers and Cincy’s coach. Give him KC’s roster and they win it all this year. But nothing will change. Maybe the NFL will put a nice slogan sticker on the back of a helmet and donate some money to black colleges. You can’t change a person that is old and racist. They will die out in a hundred years, maybe two. Black people have to buy some teams. That’s the only way. And that’s a fact. I was raised in East Tennessee. I know that’s the only way.
Saying the same thing. If blacks are that concerned ....get together and buy you a team. I dont beg no one to do anything for me that i and we should be able to do ourselves.

Loved this but i think Acho was off slightly, i seriously doubt BB "accidently" messaged Flores. Bill is so smart and has always respect and stood by him. I think this was his subtle way of giving him proof whilst sticking it to the Giants and NFL as a whole.
The Rooney Rule needs to be removed for this exact reason. Let teams hire who they want to hire. If they hire a white coach who is worse than a black coach, then it will show. There are now less black coaches in the league than when the rule was implemented. It is a very sad reality, and I hope Brian Flores’ career doesn’t get destroyed because of a rule that was supposed to help him.
@@matthewm7487 it would be meritocracy if good head coaches who have consistent winning records weren't fired while other coaches can have 3+ losing seasons and keep their job simply based on skin color

What so many don’t get: there ALREADY IS affirmative action… for white men. Has been true for centuries. Why were there over 100 Supreme Court white men before a single person of color was seated on the court? Because they were looking for white and male.
Deciding to hire Daboll prior to the interview with Flores doesn't mean that Flores wasn't hired because of his race. Flores has the burden to prove that racism was behind the decision to not hire him.

Really curious as to why Acho thinks Flores will win his lawsuit. Nothing presented blatantly points to racial discrimination. A mis-sent text and pointing to how Eric Bienamy doesn’t have a job aren’t exactly “damning” evidence
the text message shows that he was a filler to support the rooney rule which in fact points to racial discrimination if you were never considering him.
@@javariswilliamsjr5229 do you really think it’s abnormal for an organization to already have a guy in mind even while they’re interviewing other people? This is nothing new. The only difference here is Flores is black. That doesn’t make it racism
I’ve sat through interviews and halfway through people have decided who they want and still interviewed the other candidates. It’s not an uncommon thing and doesn’t point to discrimination. What it can show is that the Rooney rule is dumb because then you just have to check the box that you interviewed someone based on race. Which means even if you’re already dead set on another coach you are forced to bring a black coach’s hopes up only to disappoint him.
Please do your own research on this as well because not everything Acho said is true. The Giants interviewed 3 black men and 3 white men for their head coaching search this offseason. Acho said the Giants have never interviewed more than 2 black men. Leslie Frazier was interviewed for the job twice this offseason, he’s black. The Giants interviewed Patrick Graham, he’s black. The Giants interviewed Brain Flores, he’s black.
And the Giants didn’t want any of those black coaches. They interviewed them to say “we did”. That’s like giving you some attention thinking they like you when really they don’t. They really don’t like you at all. They basically are wasting your time but they had to show interest because of a rule. It was a sham. Giants history proves it.
@@ROZ1O when Belichick sent those texts to Flores about the Giants already choosing Daboll do you think Flores was the only coach left for them to interview? And were those coaches yet to interview black or white? Y’all got to look deeper into this and do some research please!

Be honest like the Chiefs and Eagles were when they hired Andy Reid and Doug Peterson. No need to waste other candidates time. We know who we want.
YES!!! Absolutely! You are also doing the interview because you have to. So, the rooney rule is racist towards black coaches because it sets them up to be 'token'? This is what I thought was going to happen when you implement rules specifically based on race as opposed to meritocracy (like it would be on the field).
@omonil Biff Being a player and being a coach are vastly different skillsets and are totally unrelated. It is why almost every top coach never played a down in the league. Flores isn’t winning. He can’t prove any of his accusations against Denver, and this thing with the Giants is a reach. He can’t prove anything but Miami being shady.

Acho is amazing, please let's elevate him to another level... seems to be the start today, keep it going. Sorry Wiley (i love you brother).
I back Flores on this but I think what Acho may not realize is rich and powerful people use people of all creeds in greater schemes. Plenty of crusty white guys get used by those more powerful as pawns.
I think Acho is underestimating these billionaires pull, when it comes to the court of law. He's either getting paid off to keep his mouth shut or not gonna win
If BF knew his owner through his actions was dishonest(tank games), why did he continue to work for him. If I had a dishonest employer or if I was an employer who had a dishonest employee I would quit in the first instance or I would fire the employee. There is Federal protection for Whistleblowers.
Flores wasn't fired for being black. He was fired for not tanking. He's a good coach. He'll get a shot to coach again. The NFL cares about winning and money. If he can win He'll get another job
This is true, however the problem is with the Context. Literally the stats show black coaches aren’t given the opportunity to coach in the nfl. If they are given the opportunity, the hardly ever are given a second chance to coach. So if the owner is actively pressuring a minority coach to lose games for $, it’s at the very least, highly problematic. That’s the problem I see in this situation. The law suit might be a dud, but that doesn’t negate the problem at hand, which I believe still involves race.
A BB text message is NOT legally binding statement. Unless there was a contract signed by the owner prior to the interview with Flores you can't prove a decision had been finalized. Nothing is finalized until the contract is signed.
RIGHT. It's funny how he took the leap that Dabol was hired.. bb also said I think... Right... the team is allowed to have a favorite... everything else is gossip and hearsay
The year 6019 AD 27 NFL Black Owners 79% white players no team with white QBs and 24 Black Head Coaches, & the Greatest Coach of all time is Goon Goon Allen. The Goat QB is Bowink Millard.
As much as I agree with Acho, I think he fell flat responding to Colin's last point. Colin didn't just bring up "characteristics," he brought up Flores' actual *MERITS* & why he'd be a "perfect" fit for the Giants. Acho's still right overall on most of his points, it's just Colin detailed how Flores already PROVED he could do it with a similar roster & situation, therefore results speak for itself.

I can see that. There’s no way he would a mistake like that. Especially after Brian Flores said replied and seemed confused. He could have stopped there. But no he went into more detail. Belichick is a great guy
@@sniper7ize Belichick just set the Dolphins back another 10yrs. Who knows, Grable might not be able to accept the Giants job and the Bills can't take him back so Buffalo takes a hit. 4-D chess. Patriots win the division next year.
@@freddy333ful I mean idk about all of that. But I think he texted Flores on purpose. Think about it Flores beat him twice this year. So he was basically telling on the Giants to Flores. Also I don’t think Flores would have shown his texts publicly if he didn’t get approval from Bill
This is a BRILLIANT interview.
I would drop a mic but I don't belong on that stage.
Bill Belichick Just an old dude who got 2 Brian’s on his phone ain’t no bad intent
Bill sent it on purpose to a old buddy. Bill is not gonna have 2 guys with the same first name and not have an initial next to them. He’s too meticulous.
@@SunniMerlot Belichick has smashed tablets during games because he hates using technology and prefers photos. I can totally see him struggling with his phone like any elderly person.
Bill Belichick is very calculated and has a ten year relationship with Brian Flores so I think he gave him a heads up.
I think Acho’s last take is under utilized in this topic. I imagine owners want to connect with their coaches and be buddy buddy, so cultural differences might bigger than skin color. Though I am not discounting racism at all, it’s has just happened too many times for race to NOT play a role in this pattern!
I can listen to this gentleman everyday. Keep up the great work Mr. Acho
Good interview, but he's delusional if he doesn't think this won't hurt Brian's chances of landing another HC gig.
I'll be shocked if he ever coaches in the NFL again.
He wont coach again...there isnt a team that will trust this guy enough to give him a shot
Acho lives in a black Fairly Land. Disney has a cartoon he would be perfect for.
It could work the other way, a team could hire him to be like see we're not racist. We're part of the solution
@@coreybentsen7794 this is true. but if one team did give him a chance, it would only be one and he better succeed.
@@timhawks6101 i actually agree with Brian Flores tho he is an amazing coach should get a fair shot
I dno if he is or not but acho seems like such a well spoken person and brilliant
In every revolution...there’s a person with a vision...the truth!!
Gotta wonder if the nfl offers owners something to lose in order to fix games, which would trickle down to owners offering coaches bonuses to tank.
I Agree 100% with you...
Saying the same thing.
If blacks are that concerned ....get together and buy you a team.
I dont beg no one to do anything for me that i and we should be able to do ourselves.
I’m not gonna lie. When’s I was watching ESPN yesterday when the news broke. The first thought I had was, I wanted to hear Acho’s take on this. I love Acho and FS1. I’m pleasantly surprised with Colin’s take today and give him mad props
Wow. Emmanuel interviews with exceptional skill. Good stuff!
Great job Colin, and Emmanuel.
Love Acho! Great insight!
I watch speak for yourself everyday and am a huge fan. With that being said I can't wait to see Acho have his own show. Big fan brother keep up the good work!
Yeah the show have me rolling. Good chemistry between Marcellus and Emmanuel.
Loved this but i think Acho was off slightly, i seriously doubt BB "accidently" messaged Flores. Bill is so smart and has always respect and stood by him. I think this was his subtle way of giving him proof whilst sticking it to the Giants and NFL as a whole.
I love his breakdown of different cases from the past and present. Kudos to Emmanuel Acho!
Careful there, you're arguing for meritocracy. Acho and the media don't want that, they want affirmative action.
@@matthewm7487 it would be meritocracy if good head coaches who have consistent winning records weren't fired while other coaches can have 3+ losing seasons and keep their job simply based on skin color
@@creamy3387 How can you possibly say it is based on their skin color? I guarantee you that all of these organizations want to win, they don't draft based on skin color they draft who they think will give them the best chance to win. I don't understand why we think they would do anything different with those they hire to coach the team.
Even if the rule didn’t exist we’d still be in the same situation.
What so many don’t get: there ALREADY IS affirmative action… for white men. Has been true for centuries. Why were there over 100 Supreme Court white men before a single person of color was seated on the court? Because they were looking for white and male.
Incredible interview. Great job by the guest
Deciding to hire Daboll prior to the interview with Flores doesn't mean that Flores wasn't hired because of his race. Flores has the burden to prove that racism was behind the decision to not hire him.
It's not about being hired it's about getting a fair interview and not wasting my time when you already picked a coach Feel me bro
@@305grant8 How can you prove it in court? Makes no sense to me, but I'm a man with common sense and believes in the free market.. Don't need the gov'ment to cradle me it's the land of opportunity - go do something positive
That take was fire about the group chat smart to drop on both shows
I could listen to Emmanuel all day, he pieces it all together so nicely
Most people don't know the difference between "The Price is Right" and "Let's Make a Deal". SMH
Powerful thought made by Emmanuel Acho mentioning gathering facts by observation of certain habits.
Acho had some super insightful points I didn’t think of
Like what?
Why is being a victim so appealing?
Women love it, lol
Acho spit facts all across this segment and his analogies and metaphors were on point
I liked everything but the "group metaphor" example. I really don't see how it applies
Excellent analogy with using the group message example.
@@ludwigvonsowell5347 but that still doesn’t point to racial discrimination. It points to the inefficiency of a league mandated rule
@@PB4KC that’s what I said, it doesn’t point to discrimination.
If Dolphins want to lose every game next year, just hire Urban Meyer.
@@ROZ1O so? they didn't want those coaches because they weren't what they were looking for. they followed the rule. you have the mind of a child
@@dereksansbury3617 It doesn’t matter. The Giants wanted Daboll from day one and that’s fine. Just interview 3 candidates and save everybody time. You’re assuming the Giants had an open mind and hired the best guy for the job. I’m saying they wanted Daboll and everybody else was a formality. I’m not here to tell people who to hire. Be honest like the Chiefs and Eagles were when they hired Andy Reid and Doug Peterson. No need to waste other candidates time. We know who we want.
@@joelapeterson No I have the mind of an adult. You have the mind of corpse. You miss the whole point but I’m not surprise.
Acho is the man. All brilliant points🙂🙂
Collin made Acho's point. It was not about the substance, it was about the exterior appearance, and their deep rooted ideology.
YES!!! Absolutely! You are also doing the interview because you have to. So, the rooney rule is racist towards black coaches because it sets them up to be 'token'? This is what I thought was going to happen when you implement rules specifically based on race as opposed to meritocracy (like it would be on the field).
There's little meritocracy where racism lives
@omonil Biff Being a player and being a coach are vastly different skillsets and are totally unrelated. It is why almost every top coach never played a down in the league. Wondering my more players do not become coaches would be like wondering why if 80% of Ford Employees are Factory Workers why none of the Upper Executives are former Factory Workers.
@@jasonjanisewski78 So why is it, Jason, that coaches and owners do not represent the diversity in the country?
Well it did work and now that they got thier foot in the door, they can go after the nfl. Dont knowif it will change anything cause these owners and other head coaches just keep hiring the same type of qb or db coach. Even though
@omonil Biff Brains rule over brawn. They are ex-football players, nothing more
If this brings forth some change it’s a good thing…

Acho is proof linebackers don’t get CTE
He played 3 years and he sucked .

CTE is for starters who played at least 5 years. I dont think CTE is going to be common today. Only the running backs take a beating to the point where there whole body is broke

Flores isn’t winning. He can’t prove any of his accusations against Denver, and this thing with the Giants is a reach. He can’t prove anything but Miami being shady.

I have waited since the story broke for Acho's take and was not disappointed. Interesting how they allowed Colin to rep it before Marcellus, this was obviously strategic and will be interesting to see how the on-screen dynamic plays that out between them. Fascinating. Acho is amazing, please let's elevate him to another level... seems to be the start today, keep it going. Sorry Wiley (i love you brother).
The best break down..
Poor Colin has to pretend he cares about this.
My exact take, lol
I back Flores on this but I think what Acho may not realize is rich and powerful people use people of all creeds in greater schemes. Plenty of crusty white guys get used by those more powerful as pawns.

Very good & interesting show. Thank u
Acho is a guy who thinks he is much smarter than he actually is.
Great guest
Really like this guy.
Respect to Acho 1000%
well spoken brother
Great interview
i love acho
FIX IT? How about a HEAD Coach that is ALSO the GM.... Imagine them having an argument?, NOT I cite the Patriots.
