5’ 6” Mini Simmons | Start To Finish | One Pair of Hands | Shape it • Glass it • Surf it

It was just brought to my attention recently, by my older bro Thomas, that I’ve been tinkering with shaping surfboards for 10 years. The Mini Simmons design was what got me into it, so it just felt right to celebrate this milestone by shaping and glassing myself a fresh one.
Glassing this one myself was a fun challenge, but man, I have a newfound appreciation for the true craftsman that do this day in and day out.
Finished it up just in time for a fun sesh at Typhoon Lagoon celebrating my friend Alex’s birthday. (Thanks again for the invite!)
Super fast, skatey and loose, but still had a level of control. I think I’m in love.

Thank yewww! Still plenty of room for improvement on my glasswork but it’s watertight and solid. Still figuring out the sanding part 😅

@@samahasurfboards9333 one thing I just figured out that helped my sanding a ton is to wet sand starting at 350 or even 250. I was waiting till 600 to wet sand!
