    I just had a dream that my husband went all out at the grocery store. I was telling myself not to say anything while he was filling up the cart, but then I did and it spiraled downhill. 😂 I was so relieved when I woke up.

    in my hubbys job...he was a buyer for his company. Soo saying this-when he shops-its in huge amounts and cost doesnt seem to matter. He goes to the store and i ask how much was this or that? he said does it matter? we needed it! ha ha ha. now days i share with him the inflation cost of all foods we use to eat all the time.i will say hes been wonderful with my substitues . we have been married 54 yrs and we have helped each other to see each others ways as u two have. u two are so cute.

    the "road basket " story cracked me up! Hillary, I'm a saver like you - I reuse and buy second hand, it really helps our budget. My husband is a bit like yours.... loved this video

    I love that you used the word demarcated! I have only heard it used in terms of the demarc (where your power or phone service comes into your home/office.) It was awesome to hear Alex's perspective and to witness the give and take communication between the two of you.

      Ha! I never heard of the term demarc, so I learned something new too! :)

    Fab video, loved seeing you relate with your husband and the great advice to come at each other with the presupposition that each has “good will “ in their spending rather than accusing each other. Great advice

    Oh my gosh, that's hilarious 😂 Ive done the same thing so many times! Shout out to all the Road Basket Warriors😂 It's nice to see the different perspectives of spending vs. saving. You two are just the cutest couple! It's very apparent there's a lot of love and communication, and I pray yall never lose that. Thank you for sharing!

    This is so awesome. Yall are working well together with your different personalities. My husband was the spender and I the saver when we married 43 years ago..now weve met in the middle..well actually more the frugal middle 😂.

    This is fantastic and so helpful. I am a spender and my husband is the saver. It’s nice to see those roles reversed here and to see how you both deal with it. Great advice and points to think about. I really enjoyed this.

    I was the savers he was the spender. I thought before we married that he was a saver. But as soon as we good married he wanted to treat my whole income as fun money. It was strange. Oh the stories I could tell.

    Umm,... If there really is a rule that says taking items on trash day is contingent on there being a free sign, then I am so
    going away for a very long time. Btw, I'm very curious (as I'm sure others are) what your freebie basket looks like.

    • @Homegrown_Hillary
      @Homegrown_Hillary  11 місяців тому +1

      Oh totally! When it's trash day all the rules go out the window :P
      And I just posted the Road Basket pictures in a community post, if you'd like to see it! :)

    Just curious, how much to give yourself per month, each, for free spending?

    • @Homegrown_Hillary
      @Homegrown_Hillary  Рік тому

      For most of our marriage, esp “getting out of debt” time, it was $10/month. Over the summer, we bumped it up to $25/month.

    It is really good that u both communicate well with each other. Bc that is the key to making a marriage work. But also applying the scripture found in Ephesians 5:28,33...is best for the both of u. Just saying that's all.😊
