0:36-1:11 i find the emphasis on uzi & n holding hands very very interesting. especially the specific lyrics shown on screen at the same time as those shots (“Let my body keep you warm”, “Please look out for me”, “Can you set me free?”, “Will you take my soul away?”, “Rest eternally”). i think it might be representative of v’s view on uzi and n’s relationship and how that affected her sacrifice
the lyrics of this song already imply that v’s sacrifice was a purposeful decision, because v was tired of living as a disassembly drone, in a world where humanity is nearly extinct and she and the other murder drones are already doomed to slowly die after killing and consuming as many innocent worker drones as possible. but she didn’t want to leave n behind, because she knew he needs her
v knew from the start that uzi would only end up breaking n’s heart, because she’ll inevitably have to end her own life to save what’s left of the world. which is why v was so unfriendly to uzi, and she had been planning to kill her from the very beginning to avoid all of that heartache. but n genuinely loves her, and v sees that now, and she can’t bare to take away the only person n has left. so during her final moments, she trusts uzi with that decision, she trusts her to take responsibility and do what she has to in order to save the world, and to protect n. v can finally rest knowing that n is going to be okay without her
in other words: OUCH. this series hurts me in the best way possible. your music made this scene hit 10x harder, after the premiere ended i literally laid back and just froze in shock. keep it up man!!! elsie lovelock did such a good job on the vocals

Well, I don't think it's entirely impossible for V to comeback considering the last sentence was "I can't end this dream..." which could imply that she can't really "escape" or die. Which kinda would make sense considering that she was probably cloned. Though I wonder if the cloned drones keep the memories 🤔

If I am honest, when I first heard this song's full version it made me super emotional, not because it was played in the background as V's sacrifice, but because the lyrics it's so deep and simply beautiful, and I feel so relatable to those lyrics about my struggles, and I really appreciate that you guys made this song, it is now my new comfort song.

I fell like this song is a foreshadowing of Uzi’s death.

Uzi is exhausted from the nightmare she got into and which can't end in any way, no matter how much she wants it. She wants to get rid of the fear in which she is, wants her soul to be freed from torment and finally be calm. She asks to be looked after because she is afraid to be left all alone again. She wants to spend time with the one she loves most in the world at least one more time before leaving forever and dissolving into nothingness from which there is no way out.

Murder drones is the first show that made me cry, not out of fear like horror movies when I was a kid, but pure, undeniable emotion, and for that, the show and it’s soundtrack are a work of art 💛

Absolutely stunning.
Just the mere idea of this song was absolutely magnificent, the music, the rising and falling notes, the buildup, the context. Everything was put together more then perfectly and it’s truly (and I mean this 100%) the only song that’s ever made me cry. There will never be enough “thank you’s” in the world to appreciate this.
This is a song that will give me echoes of pain since this was the music played during V's final moments
