Thank you very much for this very explainer video. So very important to know and helpful. I'm Dutch, not a lot of people here fishing Scandi style of fishing, so I'm depending on such info thanks
What a great video. A question...you talking about little/small tube flies. What is in your opinion a small tube fly. (3 cm or more)And when i starting to support my wing. Thank you very much for your answer.
Thank you very much for your feedback! :) Small tube fly, and talking about wing length, I would say lengths between 2-4cm, smaller is micro and larger is "standard size". Flies that has a total length of 3-4cm rarely needs any stiffer supporting materials, you can just use fox for example i the whole wing unless you want that super light dress.
@@TellisKatsogiannos Hi Tellis, Now this is what I call an answer with a good explanation. I now understand several parts about tying a tube fly. And the support with Bucktail is perfect. A good alternative using your dubbing technique. I saw this in one of your videos Awesome.
Was going to ask the same about squirrel... What's your thoughts on it? I use it alot for small double around 10 and 12. Absolutely amazing tips. Thanks again.
I do not use it very much but it is very nice on smaller hook flies or perfect as the support wing in big flies. For example the Sunray shadow original has squirrel as the under wing :)

Good to see you back Tellis.

Great discussion! How does squirrel fit into your hair usage? Do you consider it to be stiff? I ask because it is used a lot in my area. Many thanks
