The speed limiter is 76mph I hit it all day long I'm 130lbs and 5 foot and I also cut the front fender where it gets wider so the wind isn't pushing against the front so much helps out a lot when doing 70
Kind of underrated bike, so with the rack and a hand guards bash guard and a screen you could turn it into a adv touring starter. Most of the speed limits re 100km and most of the costs of insurance and rego are low.
I agree. It's a great bike! People often ask why I didn't get the 300. Well with the almost 2000$ I saved I was able to buy new gear and a small trailer to tow the bike with. I have mine set up with the small factory rack, a set of hand guards, and Nelson Rigg bags. It's perfect to do quick camping trips with.
@@colpitts350they don’t have the 300 here anymore, they have the Street and Street Motard, they dropped the prices way down lots of options here and most big bike riders are downsizing, i have to get a new Suzuki Jimmy 5 door next year so I have to get rid al all my old bikes and Harley 883 iron
That is what I have done with my 2023 KLX 300SM. I added a windscreen, handguards and a tail bag rack. No problem going on the highway for rides of up to 1.5 hours before a stop to gas up.
Hey thanks for the info I’m from Nova Scotia myself and was wondering if it could go on the highway I weigh pretty much the same as you and was worried if it could do it but now I know thanks for the information if your ever in new Minas area let me know will have to go for a tour thanks again for the info
No problem! The High Marsh road route doesn't save you any time but if you are on a smaller displacement dual sport it is doable. I have taken my KLX across the highway a few times now. It's not super comfortable but I wouldn't say it's unsafe.
That’s not a bad idea but I like to use the pike off-road quite a bit. I’m happy to be able to cruise on the highway at around 100 km an hour for short bursts if I have to. Luckily, I live in a spot where I don’t have to do the highway too much. It’s really only this one section I filmed where I have to cross into another province.
Does it feel sketchy at all at high speeds? I'm picking one up tomorrow and i plan on driving it long distances and on roads that have about 80-100 for speed limits
80-90km/h is fine. In this video I’m Cruising around 105 km/h and that’s about the bikes limit. At 110 the rpm is high. The bike will do 120 but that’s when the electronic limiter kicks in. I’m also 220 lbs so if you are smaller you might cruise at a better speed. Highway is manageable but I wouldn’t want to do it for long distances. Maybe a KLX300 would be better for you. Or a tried and true DR650.
going through the radar speed signs i see about a -3mph from what my speedo says (which is always +3 mph roughly). Not sure at higher speeds but around 30mph-40mph im always reading faster than the signs. who knows the accuracy of the radar signs but they always match my jeep speedo so i assume theyre correct.
Its not ment for the highway but if u had to jump on a highway for a couple exits u been fine 55 mph is the sweet spot which moat 2 lane roads is more than fast enough
At first I was very impressed, then I realized that's km/h! 😂 Still interested for an inexpensive dual sport. Thanks.
It almost cost 3 lakhs for us Indian it's very expensive
Yes bro on road it will cost around 3.5-4 lakh@@olool232

I like how his weight is in pounds and he is on the right side of the Highway but then the speed is in km/h
Welcome to Canada haha. We use metric for almost everything except weight. Older folks still use inches for carpentry and other projects.
So he is going around 65 miles per hour.
I'm thinking of Turing one of there into a small dirt orientated ADV bike.

The bike looks like its doing ok, the microphone makes it seem thrashy. I bet this bike lasts for years with a little simple maintenance.
It can maintain highway speeds no problem. But it’s definitely not fast.
It depends on altitude as well I hit 76 on my 2023 klx230
Try using the rear gear with the same size as KLX230SM

What is the speedo error vs GPS? ON my XT250 is about 10%. I think KLX has less but there might be still small %
I haven’t checked!! I’ll get back to you.

122 km dio la mía en velocidad la klx230 s
That thing sounded like it was just going to break apart and fly all over the place! Not the best for freeway riding
Sounded worse from my shitty GoPro. It does it. I just wouldn’t want to do it all day.
My bike sounds the same . What can I do ?
Trade it off.
@@JBK647why? If you're just doing 10 miles that way. No big deal.
Because that's all @MassDusters2023 could do about it.@@crypticreality8484
That felt scary don't take that on the highway😮
It's not a good motorcycle for southern California freeways.
