Here because I'm reading 'Outgrowing God'
Adrian Ridgway, so am I - and as a result of evolution.
Same here, reading that chapter now 😂
Same again
So am I. How wonderful! Got to know about a great scientist through the work of another. Also, I have recently watched the documentary "My Octopus Teacher" and now I'm almost in tears once more.
Amen to that!
Invited by Richard Dawkins, Outgrowing God
This is amazing Professor Hanlon. Thank you Professor Dawkins guiding me to the video.

I came from Richard Dawkins' Outgrowing god
And they're one of the most intelligent denizens of the deep to boot. Maybe it's just as well for us that they only naturally live at most five years.
I find it a pity that the hysterical ROGER T. HANLON 2012 sign is covering a lot of the magic.
지금 신, 만들어진 위험 읽고 있는데 좋은 영상 소개해주셔서 감사드립니다. 리처드 도킨스

Hello Outgrowing God readers!
привіт :)
Amazing creatures!
Tanrıyı aşmak 😊
Buralarda sandığımdan çok Türk görmek beni istemsiz mutlu ediyor :D
Şu an ben de aynı bölümü okuyorum :)
fascinating
remaining question is, they can only see black and white, how can they adjust themself to the background color?
I met Roger Hanlon today and asked this very question. Turns out, cephalopods skin (not just octopuses) contains light-sensitive proteins called opsins, which color-vision animals including us normally have in their retinas. Dr. Hanlon said he experimended with one-eyed cuttlefish and completely blinded cuttlefish, and found that blinded cuttlefish still get the color of their surroundings correctly, but not the details.
Tanrıyı Aşmak 🙃
