Thanks for this upload, Graham. I've a deliberate policy of not listening to 'overused' works like this too often, lest I tire of them. I haven't heard this in full for 5 or 6 years, so your delightful and thought-provoking excursion was genuinely welcome and enjoyable. The instruments and their sounds were beautiful and complex. Thank you.
Thanks so, so much, Karl. I'd been thinking how to do this one for about a year because it's such an icon. It's played everywhere all the time and indeed I'd become tired of it especially as I played it at so many weddings back in the eighties.
LOL!! soooo glad you like this. As you say this was a toughie with all the baggage of such an icon. It's not pleased everyone especially my wife who hates it and thinks I've ruined a masterpiece and reduced it to 'bubblegum/elevator' music.......am now hoping a to get a call from Ridley...
@@grahamcaldecott Tell your wife that this piece is doomed, same as the Toccata in Dm, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Albinoni's Adagio, Delibes' Flowers, and for good measure I'd put Cavalleria Rusticana in the list. With any piece that is in the hit parade of Classic FM you are damned if you do and damned if you don't :)
Bravissimo!!! Grande interpretazione e bellissima foto
Thanks so much!!!

This is so peaceful! ❤
Thanks a mill.
Uh, this is difficult, but, my compliments, you nailed it! I like the almost "alien" quality of it. Yes, sheep might graze, but you might meet E.T...
