Best NASCAR race of the year. It was just a perfect balance of racing, strategy, and cautions. And seeing the cars finally go 200mph again just brought me so much joy. I don't think I can complain about this one. We've had 3 very good races in a row. Keep it coming!

@@StevieLeeWilliams yeah ik it lol. Yet how many wins has harvick busch and everyone else won under yellow matter fact mtj as well. Of course you have fans that see a sold out show still see just 1 empty seat at a sold out race thousands of empty seats cause everyone was on 10 toes

@@StevieLeeWilliams oh i agree and that's where i think nascar goes wrong leave the rules alone quit listening to fans who know nothing about a car did i love the lpw df high hp yes but this package can be special on and off plate tracks. But they gotta run with it and not change it two years from now. Which i stress with the gen7 coming out. The gen 7 is gonma end up almost identical to what we have now

I honestly wish they would let them finish the last lap but I understand why throwing the caution is important.
Larson came over the radio and said he couldn't breathe. also Steve ODonnell said that Stenhouse had stopped on the apron after the start finish line and was in a vulnerable spot if they ended up wrecking coming to the line.
Honestly, caution should have been thrown when stenhouse wrecked. They had taken the white flag under green, so the result wouldnt have changed. If a car hits like stenhouse did and comes to rest on the track, you have to throw it.
@@wolfman21 I would've been happier with that because we would've gone into "overtime" if I remember correctly. I've seen races in the past that had awful crashes on the back stretch but they finished the lap. Cars have brakes for a reason but I can understand it for Stenhouse.
@@clark1066 no, they took the white flag under green. It would not have been in overtime...it would have froze the field and the race would have been over. No idea why it was allowed to keep going on after stenhouse spun, hit the wall nose on and came to a rest. There are those saying nascar played favorites and threw the caution on the backstretch so chase would win. If they really wanted him to win, they would have thrown it right after stenhouse spun.

Poor Kurt Busch, he wanted the win so bad that he hooked up with a Ford thinking it was going to go faster. After 498 miles of chevy dominatIng it was inevitable that a chevy was going to win this race.

RobWilli it actually makes the racing a lot better. Instead of guys riding in back most of race, they race the whole time. You get points at end if you are top ten at stage break. Guys actually racw
It's a new bonus point system for the playoffs. 3 stages, 2 known cautions at the end of the first 2 stages, and bonus points for positions 1-10. Winners of 1st 2 stages get a stage win for the playoffs.

Why is it called Talladega when the track is in Lincoln?
5 month's late, but what the heck? This track is in Talladega, Alabama, not Lincoln. It's closer to Talladega than Lincoln, so that's why.
He didn’t need to win the GEICO 500, but I wanted him to win the race rather anyone else, except Martin Truex in the #19.

What was Kurt Busch in the 1 thinking?
Kurt was trying to pass and Logano blocked him.
Kurt tried to pass logano thinking the chevy train would go with him...but it was the wrong move, which is why chase stayed the bottom.
I’ve been watching racing for 2 decades, he wasn’t trying to pass Logano on the high side in that situation. Logano already was skewed right. All he had to do was stay on the bottom and he’d have been in Victory Lane instead of the 9. Boneheaded move on Busch’s part. He ended up going backwards. There were no cars in the middle and certainly the bottom was full of cars--Chevrolets! No matter what you say Busch made a very costly move!
