I just made this soup, vegetarian style. I used red cabbage and added red onions, celery, zucchini, mini peppers. It is so delicious. I did zero pressure, 2.5 minutes natural release, and then manual release. Total time I think was about 14 minutes. Yummy, thank you for the video. My first time making homemade soup, you made it so doable with helpful tips.
I make this today on a lark. I had cabbage and hot Italian sausage in the fridge. I added a potato, a couple of garlic clove, a knotted bundle of cilantro, the bay leaf and some salt, pepper and, yes, MSG to the pressure cooker along with the broth and tomatoes. It was delicious! So simple and non fussy, the epitome of a good soup. Very similar to Kenji’s 5 ingredient chicken dish. Thanks for sharing!!!
Happy New Year! You just kicked me um...to the delish zone! Always ready to taste new dishes! Yummy, yum! Doing the air fryer way. Waving to you from south Georgia-land of best Peaches, boiled Peanuts, & Vidalia onions! ; )
Sensational! So tasty and healthy. Thank you, Louise, for your enthusiasm, expertise, and effort. You are a pleasure to watch, follow, and (try to) emulate.
I make cabbage soup too. I use skinless smoked sausage. I add cabbage, cut up potatoes, 2 carrots, celery, and 2 cups chicken bone broth, plus water to make the amount of liquid I want. Salt and pepper. I put it all in a crock pot on H for 4 hours. Or I cook it on the stove in a stock pot for about an hour. Until the potatoes and carrots are soft with a fork. I add the sausage last of I make it on the stove... after the potatoes are done. Smoked sausage is already cooked so it doesn't need much time to heat thru. I'll have to try brats next time! That sounds good! 😊 I always cook with bone broth bcz it's good for us. And it has more flavor. I buy the Sprouts brand bcz it has less sodium.
What a great recipe!! I’ve been cooking a lot soups lately! I started out just making a few for my channel but now the family and I are I hooked on how delicious and easy instant Pot soups are. TFS!
This soup looks great! I do have one trick I have learned.. when I’m adding my liquids after browning the meat.. I heat it up I bit in the microwave. It shortens the recovery time back to full boil. Just something I’ve been doing.. Thank you. ⛄️❄️⛄️
Thank you Louise for yet another great recipe. Wintertime is soup time for sure. I always make large batches and then freeze into portions for another week. Last week I made your fabulous Chicken Tortilla soup and it was sooooo delish! I have the 8.5 quart Foodie, so you know I can make large amounts. Thank you for always informative and detailed videos.
Hi Louise! I absolutely love your videos and have learned so much! I would be so grateful if you could do a chicken piccata recipe with the foodi. Thanks for all you do!
Hi Louise! I just made this today in my 8qt Ninja Foodi. It is delicious...I did add a couple of handfuls of fresh green beans, but everything else by your recipe. I think the only thing I would add is more sausage. Seems like it could use a bit more. Really tasty and healthy! Will be a part of my regular meal-making :D Thank you, Louise!
We were out of butter and chicken broth and added an extra pack of the Brats. The best soup ever. We so loved it. Better than loaded potato soup. Louise your recipes are amazing. You are the only reason we are able to use our Foodi. Thanx for another delicious soup. Love your cheese burger soup.💖💖💖💖💖
@@TheSaltedPepper wonderful! It’s just me, so even with a single batch, I’d probably need to freeze some. Definitely going to try this soon. Thank you 😊
Hi Louise Happy New Year. The soup looks delicious. My son and I love all kinds of soups except pea soup. Thank you for the tutorial we will be making it. Donna
Great video! Will you be making more videos using the smart lid....steam/crisp? My machine is still on the counter! My other one is used every day and I need to be brave and make the change. Hugs from Bay Area
Love your recipes! I just used my Emeril Lagasse air pressure/cooker yesterday. A lot of lessons to be learned. We could not figure out how to brown the meat. Any suggestions? Thanks 💕
Don't throw away the stem you've removed, I always cut it to small pieces and cook it with the cabbage, and it's not bad! Don't knock it until you've tried it. ..
I couldn't read about your Ninja pressure cooker, but what size is yours? Your affiliated site on Amazon didn't list the one you have but it has several different sizes.
I have made this recipe 3 times and 3 times it has been awesome! And it is the easiest thing I have ever made. Love my Ninja I only wishes it came with an enormous orange flag in the valve as I am horrible for remembering to make sure it is closed. Thank you for all the wonderful recipes.
Watch more of her videos. I got mine 2 years ago and wrote down any recipes I liked and where I found it. We use it every day. You'll love it once you have it. There's a new one you may want to jump into with one lid. Louise has a video on that.
They are very different from stovetop models of years ago and as long as you follow basic safety principles they are so handy to cook with. I have an online course that goes over everything you need to learn and that will definitely put your mind at ease should you decide to purchase a Ninja Foodi. Here is the link: www.thesaltedpepperacademy.com/pl/2147504992
hey, can you please start using the new ninja foodi in your upcoming videos, so anyone willing to buy it see what it's capable of? (you made one review video of it and never used it again in any of the videos :( ) thanks!!!
I will use it when I do videos using the new functions. It’s harder for me to use on camera because it’s the 8qt and I’m so short, but I have been using it at home and to test recipes and I do enjoy using it.

I'm not a fan of pea soup either!

Hi Louise, can I substitute potatoes for the celery? does it effect cook time?
can i substitute turnip in place of celery and keep the same 1 minute pressure?
If you cut them small enough, yes.

Yes, when a recipe uses some of the unique functions I absolutely will.

There are different models, but does yours have sauté or sear? If so, that is what you want to use.

What if I wanted to do slow cook option
What do I set it at
I would slow cook on high for 3-4 hours.
Can you freeze the soup
Yes, it freezes well.
Omg love
I've always been afraid to use a pressure cooker
