Watching your video in 2022. Trying to learn warehouse work as much as possible. When you showed the shipping label I was shocked to see it was 2 blocks from where I lived as a child on Griscom St. Small World!
Thank you for this suggestion we briefly touch on change of destination request during our common scams video, but this is a good one to explain in detail and how to request it. I will add it to the content calendar :)
4:35 - I used to process bill of ladings for years as a clerk and never knew what "top load" meant in special instructions. What is that please? I feel like I need to see visually what it means
Top load usually refers to putting something on top of something else. For example, I see top load only occasionally and this means to not put anything on top of these cartons.
@@ShipmateFulfillment thank you! Btw... You know of any jobs remote or not where they are hiring those to process bill of lading? I used to love doing that work.
When a through Bill of Landing is issued since the carrier has collected the freight for the whole journey does the shipped have to take care of transshipment and other procedures during transit?
Hi Carlos, Thank you so much, unfortunately I don't have a video on hazmat bols. We handle very little hazmat at our facility so its something I don't know all the nuances on, but thank you for the suggestion
Hi. Hope you're still checking your replies. I'm new to shipping. I work in the accounting department and have to deal with the invoices. I have to check the rate cons and the BOL. But I'm having difficulty with the BOL. Sometimes they are very clear and easy to understand but sometimes they're confusing because Ship from and Ship to are so messed up. Sometimes Ship to shows a completely different address (even different state) that doesn't match the rate con. I know drivers get the rate con and they are being told the correct address but why the is the BOL so confusing and wrong? Why do they do that?
Hi Shannalee, Because BOLs can vary from company to company it is hard to say definitively where you will find this number. Generally this number is located near the top if not at the very top of the form. Our house bill has it in the top right :) It could be a field on the form or even in the margin, but is generally near the top as its an important field. On very rare occasions I have seen it located elsewhere on the form such as the bottom margin or near the signatures, but once again this is rare. Hope this helps!
Uh oh! Thats not good, I always recommend having a few blank generic BOLs laying around for just this reason. If you cannot find a BOL at least you can handwrite one on a template and capture the important information on the spot and prevent delays. I also recommend keeping at least 2 if not 3 copies of each BOL. Usually the driver will receive a copy and one will get kept for your records. Good luck with the missing BOL and I wish you continued success.
@@ShipmateFulfillment Hi, thanks for the reply, luckily they managed to locate the lost BOL just in time before I was about to start paying storage fees. I’ve been shipping for 5 years now and not had this issue before but it’s very worrying when you have a lot of moneys worth of goods stuck at customs!
I'm new to working in the shipping industry, and I love your videos. Very helpful.
Awesome! Thank you for watching!

@@ShipmateFulfillment specially because some countries do not allow it after the arrival of the vessel.
Do you mind making a video on the responsibilities of an import or exporting clerk

Another great video. Thanks. It would be great if you could provide your format of forms for others to use as a guideline.

this is made with cinema 4D right?
Hi, We actually use imovie and photoshop to make our videos. Thank you for your question!
You know😅
I'm still waiting for someone to let me know if they know haha!
This is an HBL and not an OBL. Without the OBL/MBL, the consignee is not in control of their cargo. That is the bottom line.
stop saying "yknow". I dont know and I still dont know wtf this shit is.
I think its a pretty cool video yknow
Chill out, Dave.
