That’s what I’ve been saying. He’s likely still very strong and skilled even without potions and they just make him even more so. Plus, we can clearly see that he is able to fight and kill off villains that Spider-Man has defeated before several times. It should be no wonder why Kraven is more than a match for him, especially since he eventually also figured out the symbiote’s weakness.

Something that people seem to forget is the Man in Spider-Man. Bro is tired and his mental state is shit. What’s with this claim that Kraven is a “normal guy with training?” If people paid attention to the Hunter Party mission, they would remember that you find potions inside his office, which Peter proceeds to theorize as the source of his freakish strength. It ain’t even a new thing for Kraven since he also used potions from Calypso in Spider-Man 3 the game. (Where he also fought a Symbiote Spider-Man.)
A weird thing to bring up that not a lot of people pay attention to is that kraven made an enhanced lizard serum which is why it took so long to make a new cure and it’s also why you see dr Connor’s’ old cures in the lab but you can’t use them because they wouldn’t work now

Spider-Man was getting beaten up at the raft by the sinister 6 in the first game and he didn’t die by them, that means they can’t kill him (his logic) even though he was on the brink of death it’s not in the game so he’s invincible to them If you get hit by a car and survive, I cant die by a car because it didn’t happen the first time 😂

The whole point of Kraven is to be a opposing force that can HUNT, he’s not just a threat because he’s strong but because he’s experienced enough to know how to press the group into a corner. He’s sort of like Batman, but again, they don’t complain about that because it’s Batman, but still considering that its pretty unfair that they won’t consider that atleast. I don’t care what anyone says. There’s nothing to support the discourse that Peter was nerfed. Not one iteration of Spider-Man has ever been invincible. He doesn’t win or have no difficulty in every single fight in the first game either. He struggled a bit against even Kingpin at the start of the game. Mr Negative held him off before he made Delaney off himself. Five of the sinister six were able to beat him seemingly within an inch of his life at the raft. Scorpion manages to get the drop on him and poison him. Ock beat the hell out of him on his own after he defeated Mr Negative. Spidey still struggles against Ock even with the new suit he builds. In the DLC, he struggles against Hammerhead and needs help from Sable to beat him. Likewise, he still wins plenty of times in the second game. He beats the Lizard, Wraith, Scream, and Kraven the second time, not to mention he came close to killing him, plus while it takes both Peter and Miles to defeat Venom, Peter fares better. There’s a very obvious reason for why Peter struggles or straight up loses sometimes. Notice what almost all of these moments have in common? They’re against villains in a different state than he’s fought them before, like the 5 v 1 at the raft or Hammerhead being a 10 foot cyborg, or they are his high-tier supervillains that he’s never fought before in this canon: Doc Ock, Kraven, and Venom. Yeah, he was able to successfully 2 v 1 Vulture and Electro and later Rhino and Scorpion, but that’s because they are only mid-tier villains that he HAS fought and defeated before already several times. Besides, how interesting would the story be if we got a Spider-Man that was a completely unbeatable badass who never fails? This criticism that Spider-Man was nerfed has the same problem that every other major, negative critique of this game being thrown around has: there’s a negativity bias. Edit: On a side note, he was not pinned down by a fridge. He very clearly lifts it up easily like 10 seconds after it falls on him. The reason it took him a bit was because, oh Idk, he was probably in pain due to being smacked across the room by one of his strongest, most nightmarish enemies.

IMO, Peter basically struggled more because he was the main character, while Miles is more of like, a sidekick character. Because the plot focuses on Peter and his struggles, well, he has to struggle. Miles doesn't get beat up as much because Miles isn't really involved in the story to the same extent as Peter. The main villains (and most of the side ones for that matter) are Peter-centric, and most of the major plot moments happen in the Peter segments of the game. Way more people are trying to beat up Peter compared to Miles. Even Mile's main villain, Mr. Negative, isn't really a super villain anymore and only fights Miles the one time because they're forced to, but the moment they find a way out of that fight, they break it up and Negative joins the heroes. And Miles is only fighting Mr. Negative because Kraven basically acknowledges that he doesn't care about the "lesser" Spider-man and seems disappointed to capture him. He's hunting the "real" Spider-man and can't even be bothered to fight Miles directly. A lot of the times where Miles was coming to Peter's rescue, it was because Miles was deemed too inexperienced to handle the main plot, so he's just brought in as backup, usually with the implication that they need him just until Peter is back up and running again. It's a pretty common trope, like when Superman is subdued by Kryptonite and has to be rescued by Jimmy or Lois or someone else. Nobody is saying that Jimmy is more powerful because he sometimes rescues Superman and hasn't been beaten up by Darkseid or whatever. Or that Alfred is more powerful than Batman because he sometimes throws Bruce into a car and drives away. Basically, Miles is the "special guest star" for a lot of the game. Which is fine, I feel like the "main" titles are supposed to be Peter-focused, while Miles has his own title where he gets to be the main character. It feels like the game was setting up for a Miles/Silk spinoff game where Miles is the main character and Silk gets to be his side character, but the potential teaser for the next "main" title is clearly set up to, once again, be a Peter-centric story with Green Goblin and Doc Ock, neither of which have anything to do with Miles. If I had to guess, next game will temporarily write Peter out, saying he's focusing on his job/relationships while Miles and Silk have their side adventure, with Miles getting to be the main character who shows Silk the ropes, and Silk gets to be the side character who has a unique powerset. *Maybe* we'll get a Silk spinoff game too if it does really well, but then we'll get Spider-Man 3 where it's back to Peter being the main character and Miles presumably being relegated back to side character.

Why is Kraven's strength even a debate? I mean the most famous story featuring Kraven - the reason anybody even remembers this previously C-List villain - is because of De Matteis' Fearful Symmetry Arc from the comics, where Kraven beat the shit out of Peter, hunted a villain that Spidey himself explicitly states he himself couldn't have defeated without help (Vermin), steals Spidey's identity and buries him alive, traumatising him for life. And then he finally loses not because he is decisively beaten but because he has lost his will to live. Kraven is THE villain who gave Spidey his most iconic and brutal defeat and this has been THE defining story for the character for the last four decades. Anything less than this would have been downright disrespectful. Hell, this incarnation of Kraven as the guy that came closer than anybody else to killing Spidey is so iconic that people complained about the character being brought back later! If anything, Kraven's other adaptations are making him uncharacteristically weak. (Also, what is this crazy world where I am defending this deep-voiced hyper-masculine brutal Alpha-Male that is pretty much Marvel's version of Kratos against some redpilled "cuck"-shouters that whine over rainbow flags)

My one issue is that MJ looks worse than she did in PS4. I'd preferred the PS4 version. Plus maybe its just me but i wish we had more story with the symbiote spider-man, kraven and venom rather than having more MJ missions.
People don't like SM2 and simply start to create things that never happened or simply can't make a logical point to his "arguments". The Peter vs Miles fight is the best example. One thing I noticed in Mj's first mission is that we can see a newspaper where it shows a news story about the lizard from many years ago, and we can see that it looks very similar to the one in this game, very big and with spines, So the argument that Peter without the symbiote couldn't defeat him because he's bigger and stronger now doesn't make sense, because he already defeated him.
Added point to Peter not knowing how strong Kraven is: In the Flames have been lit mission, after the church scene. Peter upright says “He’s stronger than he looks!” Straight up admitting he underestimated Kraven. Also Peter describes Kraven as “So freakishly strong (Flames have been lit potion investigation” so Kraven would be at the very least, at least equal to Peter.

Spider-Man from insomniac is in a weird spot where the villains and Peters allies seem more powerful in comparison to him. I’ve never seen a version of Spider-Man look so weak and strong at the same time. I honestly assumed once he got his hands on the anti-Venom suit he would be unstoppable since the suit got rid of the weaknesses and negative elements the original black suit had. I guess this version of Venom was just too strong. I was actually surprised anti-Venom Spider-Man was getting whooped by Venom and needed help from Miles. It made it seem like if he didn’t have the new suit, he would have been beaten sooner and wouldn’t have been able to help Miles double team Venom, the suit was aiding him in his recovery and we know this from the game.
In kinda makes sense that the Anti-Venom suit wasn’t enough to overpower Venom. In the comics, even when Eddie had it, he was beaten Mac Gargan Venom. If I’m remembering correctly, he was also eventually overwhelmed by Agent Venom during Spider Island

So Peter as spiderman tries to understand what's happening to him and by the end of the game, he has Li struggling. There's even a point when spidey starts getting to him and says it's not too late. And Li wavers as though part of him wanted to stop. And there's no real connection between him and miles aside from one of the demons killing his dad. And there's just not enough time for there to be any real impact miles has on Li for Peter to state that Miles redeemed him.

The second game was just there way to get Peter out of the way.....They kill off ALL his main villains, introduce Kraven then kill him right after, Introduce Venom, they kill him after. When you look at this game its very obvious they are just trying to push Peter out of the way for miles. Him nerfed or not its obvious they were pushing Peter out of the way, more so when they say they want Miles to be the main Spider-Man Peter wasn't nerfed but they over buffed Miles so he could stand side by side with Peter, but they over buffed miles honestly and never explained why he got a buff either. My main issue with the second game wasn't Peter it was the Story and Writing honestly. Kinda hope we get a video game adaption of the 1994 Show would be so fun to play a cell shaded spider-man game where we go through the episodes in game :D
He was nerfed in the Insomniac series as a whole. When the Scorpion does a 360 to slash him with his tail in the first game, he barely even jumps back at all. Even without a spider-sense, anyone could react better than whatever the fuck his pathetic attempt at a dodge was. Another thing to note, is that his swinging speed in the first game is slower than a slow train. While this could be because of hardware limitations, they definitely could've sacrificed some of the realism to make the swinging more accurate to his true power.

Kraven wasn't explicitly shown to be a mere human. In fact, during the dinner party segment, Peter can find that Kraven has some weird mystical potions, and concludes that they must be what grants him his extreme strength. Insomniac Kraven is very much superhuman...

That’s what I’ve been saying. He’s likely still very strong and skilled even without potions and they just make him even more so. Plus, we can clearly see that he is able to fight and kill off villains that Spider-Man has defeated before several times. It should be no wonder why Kraven is more than a match for him, especially since he eventually also figured out the symbiote’s weakness.

The whole point of Kraven is to be a opposing force that can HUNT, he’s not just a threat because he’s strong but because he’s experienced enough to know how to press the group into a corner. He’s sort of like Batman, but again, they don’t complain about that because it’s Batman, but still considering that its pretty unfair that they won’t consider that atleast. I don’t care what anyone says. There’s nothing to support the discourse that Peter was nerfed. Not one iteration of Spider-Man has ever been invincible. He doesn’t win or have no difficulty in every single fight in the first game either. He struggled a bit against even Kingpin at the start of the game. Mr Negative held him off before he made Delaney off himself. Five of the sinister six were able to beat him seemingly within an inch of his life at the raft. Scorpion manages to get the drop on him and poison him. Ock beat the hell out of him on his own after he defeated Mr Negative. Spidey still struggles against Ock even with the new suit he builds. In the DLC, he struggles against Hammerhead and needs help from Sable to beat him. Likewise, he still wins plenty of times in the second game. He beats the Lizard, Wraith, Scream, and Kraven the second time, not to mention he came close to killing him, plus while it takes both Peter and Miles to defeat Venom, Peter fares better. There’s a very obvious reason for why Peter struggles or straight up loses sometimes. Notice what almost all of these moments have in common? They’re against villains in a different state than he’s fought them before, like the 5 v 1 at the raft or Hammerhead being a 10 foot cyborg, or they are his high-tier supervillains that he’s never fought before in this canon: Doc Ock, Kraven, and Venom. Yeah, he was able to successfully 2 v 1 Vulture and Electro and later Rhino and Scorpion, but that’s because they are only mid-tier villains that he HAS fought and defeated before already several times. Besides, how interesting would the story be if we got a Spider-Man that was a completely unbeatable badass who never fails? This criticism that Spider-Man was nerfed has the same problem that every other major, negative critique of this game being thrown around has: there’s a negativity bias.
Edit: On a side note, he was not pinned down by a fridge. He very clearly lifts it up easily like 10 seconds after it falls on him. The reason it took him a bit was because, oh Idk, he was probably in pain due to being smacked across the room by one of his strongest, most nightmarish enemies.

IMO, Peter basically struggled more because he was the main character, while Miles is more of like, a sidekick character. Because the plot focuses on Peter and his struggles, well, he has to struggle. Miles doesn't get beat up as much because Miles isn't really involved in the story to the same extent as Peter. The main villains (and most of the side ones for that matter) are Peter-centric, and most of the major plot moments happen in the Peter segments of the game.
Way more people are trying to beat up Peter compared to Miles. Even Mile's main villain, Mr. Negative, isn't really a super villain anymore and only fights Miles the one time because they're forced to, but the moment they find a way out of that fight, they break it up and Negative joins the heroes. And Miles is only fighting Mr. Negative because Kraven basically acknowledges that he doesn't care about the "lesser" Spider-man and seems disappointed to capture him. He's hunting the "real" Spider-man and can't even be bothered to fight Miles directly.
A lot of the times where Miles was coming to Peter's rescue, it was because Miles was deemed too inexperienced to handle the main plot, so he's just brought in as backup, usually with the implication that they need him just until Peter is back up and running again. It's a pretty common trope, like when Superman is subdued by Kryptonite and has to be rescued by Jimmy or Lois or someone else. Nobody is saying that Jimmy is more powerful because he sometimes rescues Superman and hasn't been beaten up by Darkseid or whatever. Or that Alfred is more powerful than Batman because he sometimes throws Bruce into a car and drives away.
Basically, Miles is the "special guest star" for a lot of the game. Which is fine, I feel like the "main" titles are supposed to be Peter-focused, while Miles has his own title where he gets to be the main character. It feels like the game was setting up for a Miles/Silk spinoff game where Miles is the main character and Silk gets to be his side character, but the potential teaser for the next "main" title is clearly set up to, once again, be a Peter-centric story with Green Goblin and Doc Ock, neither of which have anything to do with Miles.
If I had to guess, next game will temporarily write Peter out, saying he's focusing on his job/relationships while Miles and Silk have their side adventure, with Miles getting to be the main character who shows Silk the ropes, and Silk gets to be the side character who has a unique powerset. *Maybe* we'll get a Silk spinoff game too if it does really well, but then we'll get Spider-Man 3 where it's back to Peter being the main character and Miles presumably being relegated back to side character.

Why is Kraven's strength even a debate? I mean the most famous story featuring Kraven - the reason anybody even remembers this previously C-List villain - is because of De Matteis' Fearful Symmetry Arc from the comics, where Kraven beat the shit out of Peter, hunted a villain that Spidey himself explicitly states he himself couldn't have defeated without help (Vermin), steals Spidey's identity and buries him alive, traumatising him for life. And then he finally loses not because he is decisively beaten but because he has lost his will to live. Kraven is THE villain who gave Spidey his most iconic and brutal defeat and this has been THE defining story for the character for the last four decades.
Anything less than this would have been downright disrespectful. Hell, this incarnation of Kraven as the guy that came closer than anybody else to killing Spidey is so iconic that people complained about the character being brought back later! If anything, Kraven's other adaptations are making him uncharacteristically weak.

I don’t even get how anyone can criticize him losing or struggling against Venom at all. He has ALWAYS been known to be one of his strongest, scariest, most high tier villains. For some reason, people just seem to think that just because this version of Spider-Man is one of the most, if not the most, skilled and experienced we’ve ever seen means that he’s invincible or that he should be. That’s not the case though. He’s powerful, but it’s not like he’s ever been op.

Where does he said that? Did you really paid attention to the game dialogues at all? He never stated that Shocker could take him out. He praised Shocker not because " hes strong" which he wasnt at all, he praised Shocker because he fight for himself and for his survival. But for Kraven that was not enough and he was still dissappointed even tho it was one of his favorite hunts cuz Shocker was fightig feral way. Idk where you got the info or dialogue that kraven said Shocker could take him out.

Peter upright says “He’s stronger than he looks!” Straight up admitting he underestimated Kraven. Spider-Man from insomniac is in a weird spot where the villains and Peters allies seem more powerful in comparison to him. I’ve never seen a version of Spider-Man look so weak and strong at the same time. I honestly assumed once he got his hands on the anti-Venom suit he would be unstoppable since the suit got rid of the weaknesses and negative elements the original black suit had. I guess this version of Venom was just too strong. I was actually surprised anti-Venom Spider-Man was getting whooped by Venom and needed help from Miles. It made it seem like if he didn’t have the new suit, he would have been beaten sooner and wouldn’t have been able to help Miles double team Venom, the suit was aiding him in his recovery and we know this from the game.
In kinda makes sense that the Anti-Venom suit wasn’t enough to overpower Venom. In the comics, even when Eddie had it, he was beaten Mac Gargan Venom. If I’m remembering correctly, he was also eventually overwhelmed by Agent Venom during Spider Island

So Peter as spiderman tries to understand what's happening to him and by the end of the game, he has Li struggling. There's even a point when spidey starts getting to him and says it's not too late. And Li wavers as though part of him wanted to stop. And there's no real connection between him and miles aside from one of the demons killing his dad. And there's just not enough time for there to be any real impact miles has on Li for Peter to state that Miles redeemed him.

The second game was just there way to get Peter out of the way.....They kill off ALL his main villains, introduce Kraven then kill him right after, Introduce Venom, they kill him after. When you look at this game its very obvious they are just trying to push Peter out of the way for miles.

He was nerfed in the Insomniac series as a whole. When the Scorpion does a 360 to slash him with his tail in the first game, he barely even jumps back at all. Even without a spider-sense, anyone could react better than whatever the fuck his pathetic attempt at a dodge was. Another thing to note, is that his swinging speed in the first game is slower than a slow train. While this could be because of hardware limitations, they definitely could've sacrificed some of the realism to make the swinging more accurate to his true power.
He was finished off by kingpin. This is the same level of writing where in a comic Peter got beat to death by a mob of angry citizens. Peters body is so hard people break their fists off hitting him. Nerfed
