This was what made us start becoming aware of mom's disease.

Thanks for this compelling heart-felt reflection on this great film, The Father. Dear Dr. G you are a doctor of profound empathy and knowledge and Ganga, most talented director and producer who deserves an Oscar herself.

Powerfully moving personal reaction to a movie that mirrors your experience working with patients with Dementia. We are born into organic machines that has such incredible self healing capabilities that we often take it for granted until it starts breaking down to a point where it's unrepairable. What makes us different from machines made from metal and glass is our emotions. It allows us to squeeze so much joy in the small moments but also gives us so much pain when those same moments become leaves in the wind. Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts on interacting and helping those who are going through this journey!

Beautiful said and very helpful. We are going through this process with Tilos Mum at the moment. Thank you for you encouraging words. Connecting, looking into the eyes and human touch has worked so well to comfort both side. Our "mum" is not talking a lot anymore, the memory of the past has gone, but we can still can admire the birds, the beautiful sky and the flowers, all the present moment gives. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Much love

So true that it is very hard to recognize dementia in the early stages, I didn't recognize my sisters struggle until it was very advanced. A video on some markers for recognizing the onset of dementia would be really helpful.
