I went to a pet store and it was so sad. There were about 10 budgies sitting in a super small cage. Not tall, the birds couldn’t fly very far without hitting anything. The ground was just covered in seeds and millet was just sitting there on the ground and there was only one dowel perch in the whole thing. It was so sad
Normally in bird stores(or shops in jeneral) the birds stay out in those small cages for when the shop is open but in the back there are normally larger cages
The one I go to they have multiple aviarys for the birds
Was it PetSmart? PetSmart acts like birds are pieces of trash.

In my local pet shop, 3 princess parrots were in the standard cage setup for a pet shop, but 2 got sold (I hope) and now the remaining one doesn't say anything. I haven't even seen him eat. I'm assuming he does, but still.

Yes there mostly bought for decoration they should be loved and even free not caged engaged not caged. I have 2 budgies with good cages which they love even tho El probably wouldn't like them... They have the life!

Hell I may have what’s considered as a cage that’s too small for my budgie but I at least leave the door open when I’m home so he can come out and move around. The only time it’s closed is when I’m either not home or at work (the only time I leave outside of work is for groceries and doctors appointments or too do laundry)
Well maybe they were told that the cages were fine and so they think it’s okay some people just don’t know not everything on the internet is true
I got a birb from a breeder off craiglist. All their birds were very happy and very tame. Before purchasing they asked me various questions to ensure the birds health, and suggested everything it needed. Got the bird, and he was completely tame and comfortable with us within 2 days!
This just makes me cry.....

It is actually super sad and disappointing to see that so many people treat their birds like accessory or objects and do not even bother giving them the proper care. I have a budgie myself and I love him unconditionally. I am glad I have found this channel so I can provide even better care for my budgie because I feel like many more ppl should care for birds

@@m.ei_j3702 it really depends on the bird and how much effort your putting into it but, if they really haven't warmed up what so ever all I can recommend is patience sometimes it takes birds years to get comfortable with people

I just got a parakeet yesterday I always wanted one, sadly I got a cage too small so watching these videos is helping me so much I'm ready planning on getting a much bigger cage for Miles (my parakeet) and getting plenty of toys for him!
I bought my birds from a breeder off of kijiji but she had a interview with us before we bought them! She made sure her baby birds where going to a good home!❤️😌
I’ve been looking at Craigslist birds for awhile now and I recently adopted two cockatiel off Craigslist and one came with a injured wing 😥 now he is getting better. The cage they were in had only dowl perches and no toys with main diet as seeds. But I could tell the owner was trying to give good care and he really loved his birds thanks Elle for bringing awareness to these little birds .

my bird absolutely hates toys and gets annoyed by them. he hates basically everyone except mom. he loves mom so much that when he sees her it flies on her and doesnt get off most of the time. and when i go near her while our bird is still on her he gets pretty angry.

I watched hours upon hours of videos and did tons of research before getting my budgies and still don't feel that I know enough and am still constantly watching videos researching and asking questions because I LOVE them and want them to have the best possible life. I also have a hormonal sun conure hes a beautiful baby but im constantly looking at things to help him his previous owner pet him all over under his wing everywhere so I'm trying to settle him down and he hes very territorial but I still will do my very best to give him everything he needs to be healthy and happy and not frustrated

That is so relatable. I watched millions of videos about cockatiels before getting one and I still feel like I’m doing stuff wrong? I just find it annoying when somebody hasn’t done ANY research on cockatiels. This one girl I was talking to, did know that birds liked to be covered over at night 🙄

I'm getting a cute baby budgie at the end of this week and I would just like to thank you for the info you provide in your videos. Thanks to you, I learned about the variety I should be feeding my bird and how to set up the cage so the bird doesn't get bored. I will be buying a big cage and lots of toys to keep my birb occupied and won't forget about the millet for hand-training! Thank you for your videos. Now I know what I need to meet the expectations of my little baby

I got my two parakeets about 7 months ago, and it was an impulse buy. Even though it was an impulse buy, I love them so much.❤ I loved them so much that I worked hard at caring for them and I have done my research.🐦🐤 My research brought me to your channel and you have helped me soo much to care for my babies❤😊 I would not reccomend impulse buying, but I wouldn't change my decision. I actually just made chop for the first time today and my birdies loved it!!❤💖

I once looked on craigslist at birds, and there was an umbrella cockatoo for sale, in the description it said that the person lived in an apartment and that the breeder lied and said it would be quiet. They obviously did zero research because when learning about cockatoos THAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU LEARN ABOUT THEM!!!

That's probably not healthy, if the bird is talking to it's reflection it can be bad for the bird as the bird sees it's reflection as a mate and can get aggressive when you try to take it away from the bird and sexually frustrated as it can't mate with the reflection, you should get rid of it most likely

i feel like a lot of people think you can just buy a bird, leave them in their cage, and mind your business, but honestly… i imagine they’re about as much work as a dog or cat. i had one cockatiel for 15 years and just got a new one, and even i’m still learning along with my family. we loved our first cockatiel but upon getting our second one we learned even more things we didn’t know!! you just have to care enough to research and know when you can’t properly take care of them and give them to a new home that can.
I got my birds when i was 9 i thought i did enough research but i definitely did not. Watching your videos have really helped me and im buying a new cage for my birds that you recommended on your website! :)

I don't know if this is out of the topic but I still hope u see this.
Ok so four days ago, My dad and little brother wanted to let our Lovebird go out of his cage in their bedroom. And while he was out, my dad and bro let him out in our living room which is ok.
And then my dad wanted to do a stupid experiment.
He left our front door of the house opened, to see if our bird will not go out and leave the house.
At first it was ok, but for a few minutes my dad and bro shouted our lovebirds name for like, five times. I didn't checked it out since I was doing something on my tablet, then my brother said that our bird flew outside on the top of our house roof.
So like any other people, I grab my mask, ran outside, and tried to find our bird. Two to three minutes later, I found our bird standing on the balcony of our neighbors house. I started to call his name a lot, but because of all the noise outside he got distracted and flew away on a mango tree on the streets. The streets were outside, but since I can't go further away from our house.. I didn't have any choice but to stop chasing him and just watch the mango tree outside to see if he was still there..
Some of our neighbors tried to help, but.. They didn't find him..
So i just went in our house, and cried in my bedroom.
I went outside again, but still found nothing...
I cried so much, that I started pretending that I moved on. From the outside, I looked happy.
But in the inside, my heart was breaking..
When I tried to sleep that time, (when it was night)
I kept hearing bird noises, which almost drove me crazy. But I did get sleep.
Two days later, my aunt and her friend got us another bird, but they are pairs. They are lovebirds, and they looked just like our previous bird but different colors and beak.
Their still scared of us, cuz their still not that bonded with us so we are gonna start all over again.
But all those couple of months with our first lovebird were the best, and I'll never forget him.
(If u wanna know his name, his name is Chico)
I won't give up on him yet tho, since there might be a chance he'll come back..
