To the bow hunter in NC- I am familiar with that area. One afternoon my dog and I were hiking a short section of the Appalachian Trail above the Nantahala Outdoor Center. I got to a point where I was debating whether to go on or not, when a couple came quickly from the opposite direction, telling me I shouldn’t continue, as there was something scary around the bend. They looked at each other like they were debating whether to tell me what it was or not, but just said “You need to turn around now!” I assumed it was a bear, and made haste back down the trail after them. This was when I had activity in my neighborhood in north Georgia, but wasn’t aware yet that it was Bigfoot.
Great encounters, Nance! Thanks again for your excellent narration, which sounds fine on the recording, wherever your doing it!
Snackage this Saturday afternoon is pita with pb and banana, a snack fit for a Bigfoot! And coffee, always coffee!! ❤️🦍☕️🥜🍌

Greetings Sas-squad and Nance! Leftover meatloaf and mash potatoes for the snackage. I am ready to head down to Sasquatch Valley to sit around the campfire and listen to you, Nance, tell us the submitted stories. I have family near Cambridge, OH and it gives me chills to hear stories from there.

A headshot with an arrow is not very often deadly, even with smaller skulled animals. Think why tank armor is angled. Then think of the shape of a skull. The arrow is not likely to breach the brain pan of even a thin skulled animal because the skull will be hit at an angle. Then imagine try to shoot something with a very thick skull. All you are going to do is really piss the animal off, while possibly dazing it for a short time due to the energy of the impact, like a punch or being hit by a bat would daze it. That is the wisdom of someone that has bow hunted avidly for 50+ years. Killing 6 to 13 deer per year (my one and only best year when I was feeding my best friends widow and their child and her orphaned grandchildren in addition to my family. Taking care of the children was her full time job so she basically had no income) to feed my family for about 50 years that is easily over 300 deer just tracking the ones that I shot. Plus my tracking skills were highly sought after for any difficult tracking job. So I got called in by lots of different people (some only knew me by reputation) to find game that they couldn't track. I m still a fine tracker, but sadly my eyesight is poor now. Cancer treatment took the vision in one eye. All I see is total darkness out of it. No light is bright enough to cause me to see anything but darkness. And my other eye is just getting old with the characteristic deterioration of close up vision. So I don't get many calls to track game anymore. But I still find the ones I shoot; however, a deer or two a year feeds my wife and I now. I even took to feeding my old lab venison because she reused to eat before she died. The last 24 hours or so she wouldn't even eat venison. We knew we would have to put her down but the next day was Christmas. So we would have to make arrangement for the day after Christmas. But she died on her own on Christmas morning.
Anyway the guy in this episode would have been likely killing himself if he shot an arrow that hit the bigfoots head. He should have gone for a heart shot, but who knows bigfoot anatomy to aim for the heart. Even then the bigfoot would have had plenty of time to kill him before it bled out. A heart shot you die from lack of oxygen due to either no blood circulation to keep the brain cells oxygenated, or in the case of what is no doubt a huge heart lack of oxygen once it has bled out. How long do you think it would take for that huge animal to die from lack of oxygen. I would say at least a few minutes. In the meantime it would probably be trying to kill the hunter. Plus there were no doubt others of the bigfoot clan nearby that would respond to the wounded one's calls. I am sure they wouldn't take kindly to him killing their father, son, or brother. I am sure the reason nobody has brought out a body part of a bigfoot that they shot is because they where killed by the bigfoot clan after making the kill. I think shooting a bigfoot is an immediate death sentence one way or another. You are better off hoping they leave you alone or stop theidr aggressive displays before killing you than trying to fight back if attacked.
But great stories. Keep 'em coming.

As usual, two excellent stories. It is amazing at how many longtime, experienced hunters will say that they had a Bigfoot sighted in their scopes and had a perfect shot they knew would take the Bigfoot down, but in the process of looking at Bigfoot in their scopes, they saw its human like ways and no way would they shoot it. They felt that if they killed Bigfoot, it was akin to committing murder. As to all that's going on with your remodeling work and everything else, you don't have to apologize about not getting stories out on time and projects you are planning done in time. That is real life at work and its messy. It also takes precedence over this. Everyone have a great weekend. The weather seems pretty crazy right now in most places. I used to live just a few miles from Sugarcreek MetroPark. I walked the trails of that park for years. It's always been one of my favorite places. Too bad one of the trees that made up the Three Sisters finally came down some years ago. It's loss totally changed the nature of that section of the park. So glad you showed off that lovely place.

MURDER??? First you have to prove they are human. LOL. Until then they are fair game.
And, if you try to thrown in how some of the First Nations people viewed them as “brothers”, keep in mind that it is in the same context that bears, foxes, etc are also our “brothers”. Does that mean that bears and foxes, etc are all human? Hilarious.
