The man behind the music that has moved 5 generations doesn’t say a single word in this video. A testament to his humility. God bless Rick Rubin.
Rick Rubin is so fuckin awesome he doesn’t even give a shit about being the guy he’s just the guy.
I was wondering why they were faking. Run-DMC didn’t wanna do the song originally. Why not just keep it real?
@@3alarm247 because they were on MTV so it was a big deal for them, so they lied about likeing the process but yes they hated this whole process and hated the lyrics. lol
this song literally broke open Hip Hop to the masses; for the better
This was THE song of the 80s and i remember it like it was yesterday! I was in 9th grade!!
Legendary footage right there 🙌🏾
I wasn't born in that year when this happened. Great footage of when Aerosmith meets Run D.M.C to performed this song together.
This started the 90s hip hop evolution..... Damn it was good in the 90s.....

Wasn't that Rick Rubin in the studio as an engineer?
Yes, yes he was.
Rick lived at the studio 24/7...
Yes, not engineer tho, Producer.
It's hilarious sometimes, the way artists make nice for the cameras for the sake of promotion (this whole thing was contrived, this isn't when they made the record), when in fact Run and DMC didn't even want to rap on the track with the original lyrics. They hated the actual original song, mostly because of Steven Tyler's singing, but Rick Rubin and Jam Master Jay said they were going to do the track with or without them, with Aerosmith. lol ua-cam.com/video/65HjDTBnYJU/v-deo.html Another piece of trivia, Joe Perry wanted to include some bass guitar but hadn't brought one with him, so some other kids that Rick was working with went back to their place to grab one for him. Those kids? They were the Beastie Boys.
Yea I saw DMC talk about all that….This interview does look a lil uncomfortable. Lol
⚠️🇧🇷✍🏽🕊️
