In this video we went to the town of Gayndah,
Gayndah claims to be the oldest town in Queensland and this cemetery has graves dating back to the mid 1800"s
If you use a torch that helps with reading head stones. Thankyou for showing these old graves.
Yes, someone has mentioned that, I just keep forgetting and to be honest wondered if that would still work when the sun is shining so hard. We appreciate you watching
Isnt it interesting the patterns and color of the stone used. I nearly cried for the 15 year old Thomas not sure why just found it emotional. Lament....now theres a word I havnt heard for a while. Great video thank you.
Have to agree about the stone, and how they got it in the 1800's is amazing too. The people that are tragically killed get me everytime. Thanks for watching
Very Interesting
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching

Hi from NSW
We grew up in NSW. Thanks for commenting
If you want to read the old headstones get a torch and switch it on so the beam is at an angles with the writing. One of the small pocket torches with good white light does a good job. Experiment till you see what works for you.
Thank you, that has been suggested before but I just keep forgetting to take one with us. Also I was wondering, as we are in the extreme heat and sun of Australia's outback in the middle of the day would the torch idea work ?
@@historiccemeteriesaustralia Yes it will still work as long as you hold it on an angle it will throw a shadow where the letters are carved into the surface. Try shining the beam at the side of the headstone and gradually move it to the face of the headstone. Once you get the hang of it you will always use this method. Good luck.
Thank you so much@@tinasteer2507
You need a torch 🔦 for some of the oldest one. That will help you to read it better
Oh I did not know that, will be sure to take one in the future thank you
Go old Ipswich
