THIS!!!!! They could have done this palette in half the size and all amazing formulas across the board. I have extremely high expectations for this palette... But they have proved they can do amazing large palettes like with Stone Cold Fox, so there is no excuse in this one not being just as good.
Finally! A refreshingly honest review on colourpop. A lot of colourpop focused channels arent mentioning the drop in colourpop's quality. I think this palette has their best color story, truly so well done. Could have been an amazing one, with better performing shadows. Thanks Annette for saying it as it is.
After starting with ColourPop and recently gaining experience with smaller indie brands, I'm going into this palette with expectations of a soft, romantic, ethereal result rather than highly-pigmented, high-shine looks. (As my skin and hair age, I hope it'll be more flattering.) I think ColourPop has been falling flat recently and I agree: why can't their formula be consistently good across the board? Right! You’d think with them making it on their own in their own factory it would be consistent, but it’s not!
@@onewhisper22005 My thoughts exactly! Maybe they figure that with so many releases, we won’t mind the discrepancy, but I’d rather fewer launches of excellent quality over a barrage of mediocre or “hit or miss” palettes.
@@shimmersandsilver same! I hate buying something only to have it not be the same great quality as other products of theirs. Like why can’t you be consistent?! Oh yeah, because you’re pushing out way too many products way too fast, even with your own factory that’s going to leave some falling through the cracks! 🤦♀️
Ok for me . The color story is the best color story they’ve come out with in soooooo long , but then I swatches it and I felt that the colors weren’t nearly as good as they normally are . I’m so happy you agree with me ! It sucks , the quality just isn’t there , but the color story needs to happen more often . Yes exactly. What happened here?
It’s such a beautiful colour story. I wasn’t tempted to buy it as I try to stay away from larger palettes these days but it definitely caught my eye. We needed the Lunar Beauty 12 Days of Lunar to have this colour story. With that formula it would have been perfection! 💙
I got back into makeup after a long break (15 yrs), and wow, I can't believe how good the drugstore/affordable eye makeup is these days, you are so right, there's no excuse for this dusty, patchy nonsense. Your standards seem appropriate, given what competitors can do at that price. Love your looks, I've recently discovered I love complicated eye makeup and shadows finally come in the intensity & textures that I've been wanting since the 1980s. 2020s cheap but wow shimmer eyeshadow might be my favorite "oooh, I am living in the future now!" thing... It honestly makes up for the flying car lie. Finally creating the looks I envisioned but couldn't get on my skin lol, love the way you use light!!! Makeup is so artsy now, instead of corrective/critical (fixing one's flaws), I love you youngers, you've made a lot of things better.
Just a little fyi - the shimmery shadow you said saying was dry etc - it's a new formula, it's a "pearlescent" topper type shade, not going to be as strong as that silver metallic.
I don’t trust all CP reviews because some people love everything they put out (never have given them a bad review), even the really bad quality ones (like that candy land collab palette) I think they may be biased because they have codes and get all the PR from them- so I look to them for swatches but I don’t trust their reviews. I’m going to wait on this one, especially since it’s not limited edition. Thanks for your honesty.
Also this reminds me of an expanded version of a couple of the Sydney Grace Temptalia palettes.

Ahh crap, I've already bought it and it's on my way. I've seen some positive reviews though and hope that that I end up liking at least half the shades.
Someone dm’d the image of this palette to me because I famously love purples, blues and greens. I INSTANTLY wasn’t interested. It looks like mud city to me. Many look like random deepening shades from other palettes. Perhaps more vivid tones could’ve won my interest.
Same?!! This is totally my colour story in theory but I instantly was underwhelmed and meh about it. I even like ethereal light shades too but it looks just dull?
I felt the same way. I bought it because I was so excited about the color story, but with the exception of a couple shades, they’re all dry and lackluster, especially the pinks and purples. That light pink you had a hard time with was the worst in the palette. It was so crumbly and looked like gravel on my eyelids. I’m over colourpop.
I agree with you! I don't like how Colourpop puts formulas I don't like, especially the shade you were working on. I think that one has small glitter particles. I also despise the sequin matte shades.😐
I got this purely because of the theme. I’m now thinking I won’t like it if you don’t like it. We seem to have similar preferences with our makeup and I trust your judgement.

Well, am gonna say I like the pallet....am very pale skinned and with small eyes and love cool toned pallets and I go very light with the pallet, because am not very good with those kind of shades....I understand your point of view, you are so good with bold, pigmented colours, very creative....but there have to be something for us the not very experienced makeup girls 😊
Everyone was losing their shite over this palette but the colour story is honestly not that unique and similar shades in better formulas are available elsewhere. I'd rather spend a bit more for higher quality.

I love how you’re not scared at all of roasting this palette, even in the title and thumbnail. I wish Colourpop went back to 9/12 pans instead of mega palettes. It’s hard to pick 24 shades within a specific color theme that still stand out on the eyes, and low key there’s no need for 24 shades to convey a good theme. All it does is give me selection anxiety when it comes to using the palette 😂
I agree!! I have the same palette and hate it!!! Colors look dusty!!! And not pigmented. I’m just over colourpop!!! Tfs
What brush did you use for eye primmer?? Looks wonderful!
Its the 33 from rephr, u def dont need a brush that expensive for primer tho, I got it in pr and its nice but just use a large eyeshadow blending brush to blend ur primer, works just as well!
Damn! I actually hate CP’s formula and hace decluttered the few palettes I purchased from them. But I seen this and had to have it and now you’re saying it’s trash 😂 I haven’t used it yet but I’m sure I’ll have the same experience

Maybe there's inconsistencies with the production of this palette. There was a UA-camr saying that her All Amethyst palette doesn't swatch like other people's. Colourpop has their own factory so there's really no excuse. I'm nervous about how mine will perform now, it's supposed to be arriving tomorrow
Hate when this happens. Listen ColouPop we need the same Pigment and shimmers as in the plastic 9 pans eye palettes. I have been lucky to grab 24 singles when Covid began. I put all of my 9 pans and keep then in their own home in those magnetic palettes. Also You can remove the colours and switch out ones that are horrible then you can love it for what it has and your own touch.
Aaaargh. So disappointing. I was hoping this would be awesome. I love the colour story and one of my cats is called Aurora. But not worth the international shipping and hassle by the looks of it.
Oh well I'll just have to play with my new blend bunny palettes that arrived today! Blends and primal to go with the surge. Excited!!
I honestly never buy Mega palettes. From ANYONE. Its not just a ColourPop issue for me.
I stopped buying colourpop because of the massive amount of waste they produce. The quality went way down just so they could pump out new products every 12 seconds. And the prices went up because they have SO MUCH unsold stock.
I never like ColourPop, I gave up on them a couple years ago since every purchase I was wasting my money. Angie said she loved this one and I was interested but yeah, I guess it's how I thought it might work out. The only way I would try their products again is if they were gifted to me. Even their eyebrow micro pencil is such bad quality that it breaks in half, and their eyeliners have always arrived in pieces(every single one, which is like 12 of them) so no thanks.
I'm so sorry this palette was such a letdown for you. I stopped buying ColourPop over a year ago. Not just for because their quality and consistency is a joke but also because their customer service is an oxymoron. To be honest, I've never been happier.
To have a big colour pop pallet shipped to Australia where I live is $76 so for me it isn't even affordable

Are you sure? Their international was $10 flat rate last time I had to pay it (free over a certain spend so I wait until there's a few things I want)
@@MissMagic if I could put a screen shot here i would 😅. During covid anything shipped from the US went up in price to be shipped to Australia. Might also have something to do with our notoriously high goods and service tax 😅

I’m so glad I didn’t buy this.
I want to like CP because of their color stories but I’ve been disappointed in almost everything I’ve tried especially the last two years.
My palette arrived yesterday (I'm in the UK so had to wait a bit). Just had my first play & even though I only used about 11 shades, those 11 shades worked perfectly for me. I haven't ordered from Colourpop in over a year as I find they bring out too much & quality can be hit & miss. But this colour story was so beautiful I had to give them another go! So far I'm happy with it. We'll see as I play with it more... 😊

A lot of people have been loving this, it might just be a quality issue. They had issues in the past with their quality being consistent, maybe a dud? I didn’t pick this up bc I don’t go for their mega palettes. But I loved the Harry Potter palette which is the only 30 pan that I’ve gotten from them since the So Jaded. I just don’t need this one I own almost 30 Colourpop palettes lol I’m good.
Inconsistency is just not an option for me anymore even with drugstore makeup. Petition to blend bunny to come up with this kind of colorstory 😂

Hi, so I loved your first look and the second look. My dad, even though I'm a grown woman, bought this for me for a Hanukkah gift. I told him how much I loved this palette. I fell in love with this palette the first time I saw it. I watched a few videos of looks that they came up with so I can't wait for it to arrive. I sure hope I have better luck with it than you did. Those are my kind of colors so I'm excited. I know you don't like the palette but I would like to see 1 or 2 more looks.

I think if you really enjoy Annette, you might like their looks with the palette to give you some ideas for how to use it. That's if you aren't already watching these lovely other ladies, of course.

I've been torn on this one since I first saw it. I didn't like the way it looked when it was revealed, but then I saw one doing looks with it and swatching it, and then I kinda wanted it, and as someone just said "everyone has been gushing over it".
ColourPop hadn't been tempting me lately but I saw this and I said oh yes I must. It came in the mail today and I'm looking forward to trying it tomorrow
🙁I really hope they redo this pallet, I love this color story, love the packaging, I'm so disappointed, or maybe even make a 9 or 12 pan smaller version but same concept. I'd definitely buy it ..if they re-did the formula. 🤷♀️

I was tempted by this palette so thanks for giving me the tea on it! That saves me some money. Your looks did turn out very nice, but I don’t want to have to struggle with my eyeshadow either. Oh well!
Thank you for letting us know Unearthly is open again. I went to order some of their new lippies for my SIL for Xmas but they were closed. 😢 I’m glad they closed to catch up instead of staying open and not being able to ship fast enough for Xmas, though.
I bought this, found it almost impossible to use, it was way too powdery, the dark colors wouldn't blend at all and the shimmers, other than that one silver, were just a flaky mess....I like Colourpop, but this was a big mistake.....
I don’t like big Morphe palettesfor this very reason (inconsistent and overwhelming) so I never bothered to pick up any of their palettes that I thought I was gonna like. If they included some chunky glitters and flaky shadows I may reconsider but they never have enough for me to bother caring. I love you so I’m watching but I knew I wasn’t messing with this palette 😂
It’s too bad; there are some good Colourpop formulas, but those swatches were awful. I wonder if the blues would work better with the glitter primer? Maybe it’s a formula that needs that.

When I saw this had pressed glitters I didn’t buy. I know they changed the formula on the pressed glitters but I still don’t like it.
There are no pressed glitters in this, i wouldnt have bought it if it did!
Hi Annette I totally value your opinion on this ColourPop palette.. I was looking forward to purchasing it , due to the color story.. it is pretty! But again . If It doesn't perform like some of ColourPop's good quality palettes .. I'll pass or better yet I'll Dupe it w/ some singles from other great brands.

I love wintery icy colours and I loooove toppers. But I don't think this one looks good 🤔👀 I like soft and light colours too but I still didn't like the swatches and looks I saw of this. Don't think the overall story is that fun. The shimmers look meh. Not glittery or shiny. I'm surprised people seem so excited over it... But honestly CP gets a lot of hype for quality I've seen the same people bash other brands for 🤷♀️there's a lot of cutting slack when it comes to CP w a lot of reviewers on here and man I've bought a lot of mediocre CP palettes and products that were hyped up. Decluttered most of it by now...
Your look is FABULOUS! I am surprised that the quality of the shadows aren’t what we expected. I had fallen in love with these shades. I may just wait for a good sale and then I will give them a try. I will bring them back if I am not happy with the quality! I have your New Year is as Fabulous as you are!
Hmmm. I'm wondering if they are struggling with inconsistency issues when pressing. Two of the UA-cam reviewers that I trust love this palette and two now, including you, mentioned drier, non-creamy, hard pressed shadows. They have had try these problems since the All Amethyst and Mandelorian palettes I think. I hate that, because if I can't trust the formula, I won't keep purchasing.
I'm not sure if they're in this palette but I do know that ColourPop has a new glittery shimmer formula. There was one in the ctrl alt glam palette and I wasn't a fan. It felt like dry glitter with a little bit of pigment so it wasn't a plain pressed glitter but I didn't like it. It wouldn't pick up on a brush even dampened. I've also noticed there seems to be some inconsistency in how hard pressed some of their shadows are. The ctrl alt glam was one of the 1st palettes I've bought from them in a long time. And if it hadn't been for how great the star wars palette is I probably wouldn't buy any more. As it is I won't buy any more for awhile and it'll take something special for me to risk it. Which sucks because I use to know that if I got a ColourPop palette it would be good. Now not so much if I buy 2 palettes and one is good and the other is just plain bad. I could deal with it being ok but that ctrl alt glam is awful.
How I wish this vibe was in a 9pan palette I hate the massive palettes for some reason the 9pans seem to have their better formulas. Haven’t been super drawn to colourpop eyeshadows in a long time though. Love the liners, love the super shocks. That’s it though. :/
I’ve never understood the hype around this brand. The collections are so cute and tempting, but I have two palettes that everyone gave great reviews, and I hate them. I don’t care how cheap they are if they suck.
I've seen some positive reviews of this, but I'm just not the biggest fan of their shadows. I depanned the two nine pans I have, kept like 4 or 5 from each.
I do love the color story though.
I recently de-panned my bare necessities and I did get this pallet. I think the bare necessities may have had a better black, I'm going to retest. If so, going to trade the black in this palette. OR put in a different shade. I don't use black eyeshadow a ton due to me having very hooded, narrow/ but long eyes.
Blend Bunny to the rescue. A palette with this many colors shouldn’t need a BB Save (the Hail Mary of the eye shadow world).

Agreed 💯 you captured the vibe/theme very well, even with the subpar performance in the formulas. I'm going to make my own palette with existing shades in my collection though! That color story IS Gorgeous!!

I was so extremely excited for this palette and absolutely love this color story as well, like it is probably my dream palette if all the shades performed really well and it had some amazing light purple, blue, green, and teal multichrome type shades... Can you make a suggestion of a palette with a similar one that you would recommend? Especially with some of those more "wow" shades like you mentioned you would have liked more for your lid and that kind of thing.
I really feel like the Blend Bunny Lure palette really fills that niche for me. Give Me Glow's Bad Witches Club and Glamlites Scooby-Doo Creeps & Crawls palette gives me the same vibes too. I'm the biggest sucker for pink/purple/blue color stories 😭😫
