If you haven’t done so PLEASE scan some of that packaging and paperwork especially the rare ones. And I bet museum workers would go nuts since you’re not wearing white gloves with some of that fragile stuff 😉 thank you for sharing your collection!

If you talk to a collector in any kind of hobby they will always say original condition , but they also revamp & restore. And you don’t use any of that stuff I’m sure if you were to use something you would rather have it replated or in good original condition! 😁🤙🏻
I had a few gold new and short combs, and got rid of them because I wanted a bright nickel one, So I bought a replated one off you than later found another original nickel short comb that actually looked BETTER than the replated one so I definitely can understand what you mean by original original original!!!

I was a shaving hobby fanatic beginning in O8 and lived on the forums. I can remember Matt and his partner coming onto the shaving scene as young guys making a big splash as Gillette collectors, experts, and shaving entrepreneurs. About that time to about 2010 was such a wonderful time to be in the wet shaving hobby.😃
It was! The beginning of a new hobby only happens once and we were there for it - sounds like you were too :)
Just ordered from Emporium a revamped Gillette butterfly safety razor. Looking forward to receiving and getting wear from it.

Great to see so many razors in this detail. You also caused me to break out the King R soap and splash this AM. I love the smell of Gillette in the morning... Heh!
Just a thought, but you should probably handle these vintage items with gloves to keep the natural oils from your hands off of the items. Very enjoyable video!

I got bitten by the shaving collecting bug about 20 years ago. For about five years I was going to antique fairs, thrift stores, and eBay and I bought somewhat indiscriminately and in bulk. A favorite target was early Gillette's that had turned black. Often the sellers didn't realize the black Gillette's are the silver plated premium razors. Now I need to sort and identify the more valuable items, especially the early boxed sets. I know I have at least 50 fat boys and even more slims. I really love the early Aristocrats, Diplomats, and the Presidential series razors especially the boxes sets. Good stuff, glad to see Matt blowing the dust off his collection. While I have switched to collecting new boutique single and double edge razors I would like to "run off" with Matt's giant toggle fat boy razor.

No. What's for sale is online or in the shop getting worked on. The collection is that- the collection. If I sold it, I wouldn't have a collection anymore :)
