I had a distro rep state a couple products are short printed, & that's why we aren't getting any from that distro. These products are more common to Big Box than Hobby, so I presume those products will be more readily available at Big Box than some others I expect 2nd wave/restock come through around black Friday given our timing

I remember when everyone was freaking out about the charizard upc last year lol, I feel all those scalper that bought bulk are going to try to make rumors so all their stock get sold and not be stuck. My local shop said they are fine with supply of the Pokémon 151 and the stores they know haven’t had an issue that they will be getting less than usual copies.
I'm hearing that the MewPC will be printed to the ground, to the point where it's printed more than ZUPC. ZUPC is still sitting on shelves and selling for considerably less than MSRP. Don't FOMO and wait for sub $100, it will happen.

@@Nathan-sx6kr yes that’s correct however just because it has promo cards that match celebrations promo cards from the upc doesn’t have a connection for the stock amount for the mew upc. The mew upc will consist of cards like the gold mew which will significantly increase the demand of the product however it will have no affect on the stock amounts which is blatant knowledge. I believe that the mew upc will be fairly printed and there can be no factual evidence regarding the mew upcs stock quantity.

The Charizard upc is easier because it only consisted of 'normal' cards. Another point i want to make is that this upc is part of a 'special' set - just like the celebrations upc. Although Pokemon Japan said they will print this set to oblivion - but yet the boxes are 4/5 times retail. Eventually they have to stop printing these because of newer sets too lol. I, personally, have the feeling special sets like these are short(er) printed than normal sets.
The pre orders have been available since they went live on target etc. the only 151 product that went oos is the PC Etb so I don’t really think it’s short printed.
its because pokemon is catering to retail stores to control the market more. They know that LGC's can sell them for whatever price they want but in retail stores it needs to stay at msrp.

There are stores currently selling pre orders at retail. For those suffering from fomo, might it be suggested that they order one or two products at retail and when the set is not short printed buy more at a lower costs?

I see so many stores doing pre-orders for these 151 products coming in September and October. Since at the moment they are not selling Paldea Evolved nor Scarlet & Violet, they may try to hype it up for 151 so that people buy lots of their pre-orders.

Obsidian Flames will be harder to get cause all the focus is on 151. But the demand will still be crazy high for 151....that when a store runs out...pokemon will still be supplying Obsidian slowly..shops will charge close to msrp for Obsidian month/months later from release cause it is a trickle release.
I disagree I think the cards aren’t really great for competitive gameplay meaning they were made for collection purposes only, the sets with the good competitive gameplay cards are the ones that will get all the reprints I see 151 getting a short print run.
It’s all about business and money. I mean, this will probably be a big set and many people will want to get their hands on them. There is no way they will short print this set and not make any profit from people who are ready to buy them. I personally have already preordered some 151 sets. I’m actually waiting for them to restock the 151 ETBs from the Pokemon Center. I’m just hoping they continue restocking more 151 sets after release day.
Congrats on the new lil blessing! Plus those few stores probably got shorted because I’m sure that every store is ordering the max volume they can do logically some will eventually get less than they hope for because of the insane level of demand.

ZERO chance. ZERO. I’d like to know if those stores that were cut are holding local tournaments. My LGS runs them constantly and is growing-meanwhile their allocations keep going up each new set. I would be willing to bet these are stores that just sell Pokémon but don’t participate the TCG itself. It seems pokemon is focusing on promoting playing the game itself (which is smart - it is a better path for the long term).

Its been way too easy to preorder so since its so easy to preorder the upc where up for hours on pokemon center and best buy and target websites and the preorders are still up a game stop ive seen so many lcs websites selling it for cheaper i mean its so easy to find why would anybody believe this.

Don’t forget Mew upc has a gold cards - just like the celebrations ones - and thus will not be printed to the ground
