Seems like yesterday we were cruising around in our Firebird's.Over 46 years ago!Where did the time go?Continued RIP to Jim Garner and the rest of the cast and writers who have left us.
As a kid I'd watch the show and barely remember it for the funny answering machine messages. As an adult I loved it for its incredible stories, great charm of James Garner and amazing cast. I've watched the series about a dozen times and made for TV movies. I was just thinking a few days ago how only a handful of the actors survived until now.
I always enjoyed watch the Rockford Files as I grew up. Why can’t they do shows like this anymore? I always enjoyed James Garner he was funny, and a great actor. I have seen some of movies, and he was a talented actor. Could it be possible to do a video on “Simon and Simon?” I always wondered what happened to them.
What a memorial to all those marvelous folks who added their talents, personalities and spirit to make Maverick the tremendous hit it was--and still today. The public owes all those who made this program hold the spot in TV history that it EARNED and to those who had a good eye and knew what a winner should look like and enabled the original and new audiences to experience watching a class act TV program/movies many years later.. Good, clean scripts and talented artists like those associated with MAVERICK are much needed today. Our family rarely missed watching each episode together. Dishes, home- work and grass work took a back seat for James Garner et al. He was one hunk of a man and a believable, talented actor!!!!!!!
Friday night was not Friday night without the Rockford Files. Friday night was a two-fer for a kid...no school the next day and the Rockford Files! 📺 🥳🎉🎊 📺
I watched this every Friday night with my dad brings back so many wonderful happy memories and tears to I miss those days there gone but we all got happy wonderful memories how life and things were back then God bless Rip
GOD BLESS ROCKFORD FILES LIFE IS PASSING SO FAST THE MEMORIES OF THE PAST ARE GREAT BUT THEN AGAIN SAD LIFE IS A GREAT THING SAD IT ENDS SO SOON . SAD SAD 1 THING GOD CANT CHANGE THATS TIME. BECAUSE IF GOD CAN CHANGE TIME THEN ... BABY COME BACK YOU CAN BLAME IT ALL ON ME I WAS WRONG AND I CANT LIVE WITHOUT YOU >>
I've been watching Rockford every day on HULU -- and am up to Season 3 now ---- it's a great show --- but when you watch everyday - you start to think about things. It seems like the LAPD would eventually learn that Jim ain't gonna be GUILTY of anything. I think they arrest him every single episode for some major crime that he happens to be investigating. LOL I wish JUST ONCE they would give the man the benefit of the doubt -- Becker KNOWS that Jim isn't involved - but he goes along with it anyway. :-)
Y do those people look older than you say they are Year 1976/75/74 Noah beery jr. Looks 64-year-olds Jack Garner looks 56-year-olds James Luisi looks 56-year-olds James Garner looks 54-year-olds Tom Atkins looks 45-year-olds Joe Santos looks 45-year-olds Gretchen Corbett looks 35-year-olds
Interesting about Garner. Notice his interactions with Female Actresses. He never overpowered nor dominated them but rather he worked in a symbiotic relationship to make them very effective in every Scene. You can’t say that about many Male stars from that time. He is the guy who when he was a Child he had a stepmother who dressed him in girl’s clothes to embarrass him. Once day, he had enough and punched her lights out and she never returned to that family. He sued the Movie Company as he was being cheated in not getting residuals for the continued reruns of “The Rockford Files”. In fact, they charged him for them and he coined the term “Creative Accounting” for their phony billings. Finally from his wiki, he suffered the pain of legs and hip injuries all his life. At the end, he credited the use of marijuana over the past fifty years of his life. In fact, he claimed it eased his pain and it made him “more forgiving”. He also said weed should be legalized and alcohol should be outlawed. Very interesting. Probably a true solution too.
I was just watching that Sopranos episode where Joe Santos's character, Angelo Garepe, was murdered by Phil Leotardo. Coincidentally, David Chase, who wrote most of the Rockford Files episodes, would later cast some of the actors in the Sopranos. A couple that come to mind are Robert Logia and Greg Antonacci, who played Feech LaManna and Butch Butch DeConcini, respectively.
Totally rocked. That car will live forever, with the show intro music. And those persona's. Those lines too. And, not forget the "Bios of those stars!" What a location to in California too.
Yes his car!! All the cars back then are cool to look at, i would love to have a lot of them that i see in the show. And yes! Theme song is fantastic, gotta love real musicians, instruments, and the music throughout. it just doesn't get any better than the Rockford Files
Interesting that you have Gretchen Corbett's age as 73 in the year 2020. And in the next frame you say she's 84 in 2020. Wow. She must be using an age accelerant.
Remember the girl who was a lounge singer, with the curly brown hair? I think she was looking for her father, a general. What a beauty she was! Anyone remember her name? At the end, she was negotiating a singing contract, and Jim told her she was getting screwed in the deal. She told him to buzz off.
And now Stuart Margolin is gone too. So depressing, because it had such a great energy to it. Watching scenes shot in 70's California sunshine still makes me feel good. I absolutely live in the past. As a kid I didn't understand most of the show, but James Garner, and the other vibes kept me watching. James Garner will always be an American Treasure.
My mum and dad used to love this show, and watched it religiously every Sunday evening. My dad died aged 80 two months ago, and I'd give anything to be able to watch reruns of it with him now.
Best detective series ever
The only thing better than Rockford and Lt. Chapman going at it was Rockford angry at Angel.
Rockford, Columbo, Banacek, McGarrett, Harry-O -- my top 70's cop show heroes. Love them forever.
Our family watched this every week. Great show.

Jim Rockfish had class - undeniably.
So did James Garner. He was also a great Brett Maverick ...
Gandy Fitch called him Rockfish
Haha Haha
Put him to sleep Gandy
One of the best tv shows in the 1970s and still holds up today love the Rockford Files
Boy,this show sure gets alot of compliments!
Best of 70s definitely because ONE OF THE BEST OF ALLLLL TIME
My favorite show-and actor-of ALL time.

Because there will never be another James Garner
Just really getting into The Rockford Files now. What a great show. Amazing writing and plots that are film worthy.
Friday night was not Friday night without the Rockford Files. Friday night was a two-fer for a kid...no school the next day and the Rockford Files! 📺 🥳🎉🎊 📺
Rockford Files is golden today 2022
Nice to see they passed with natural causes, not drugs or suicided.
Was awesome show. Also loved their gold 1978 Firebird.
One of the screen used Firebird Formula's used in the show was auctioned a few years ago for over $100000.Jim Garner must of rolled over in his grave.
I watched this every Friday night with my dad brings back so many wonderful happy memories and tears to I miss those days there gone but we all got happy wonderful memories how life and things were back then God bless

Who remembers Gretchen Corbett answering the door in only a skimpy bikini on Columbo? One of the few times Columbo was at a total loss of words.
Thanks for watching!
Her appearance on Columbo was one of the best moments of TV history.
Gretchen had tiny boobs. That’s what caused me to be a homosexual.
Someone can't do their maths, Gretchen Corbett 28 years old in 1975 would make her 74 years old in 2020
I remember Gretchen Corbett I was 18 she was 28 yes so cute
yeah how many others are wrong?
no doubt - they are a student of common core math. LOL
Miss Corbett appeared on numerous episodes of 'Marcus Welby, M.D.'--one of what I call the 'Welby Players'.
Thank you!! Thank you ! Thank for posting this. I loved the show in my pre / teens as well as my mom.
Watch the reruns from time to time too
Thanks for watching!
I think Gretchen Corbett was born August 13, 1947; that makes her 74, not 84.
She will be 74 in August--still 73.

@@FactsVerse I always thought Bewitched was well written with great acting and hilarious, and then there's the beautiful Lizzie.
I agree…best show EVER!

As you get into the 4th season it begins to change.Becker gets promoted to Lt and Jim starts to get a little respect from the PD.
I like the writing I like the whole crew it was fun to watch and you might learn something to🗽🇺🇸🍺🐵🙉🙊🙈
Great to see some of them still going after all these years.
AWESOME AWESOME THING HERE!!!
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH from a die hard Rockford fan
Angle stole the show in every one he was in
Thanks for watching!
I just finished the series last night. The only time I laughed out loud really, was a line delivered by Stuart Margolin. So hilarious.
OMG! Watching these time-capsule-type videos really puts time into perspective, doesn't it!?

@@FactsVerse How about The Equalizer?
Rest In Peace Mr Stuart Margolin, he passed away December 12, 2022 .
That is not James Garner as Captain McEnroe! He starred in The Ultimate Gift in 2006. He died in 2014.
how sad, i was a kid and we watched Rockford Files every week.....seeing a lot of the cast has passed makes you realize your own mortality..
It doesn’t add up they wrote Beth 28 years old in 1975, and then they wrote 84 years old in 2020. It should be 73 years old, they made a mistake here

My daddy love the Rockford files one of his favorite shows
Glad to know that your father is a fan! How about you?
I think you started off on the wrong foot, the guy at the beginning with the aviator glasses, black tie and blue plaid suit is not James Garner.
It was Jack Garner, James' brother.
Interesting that you have Gretchen Corbett's age as 73 in the year 2020. And in the next frame you say she's 84 in 2020.
Wow. She must be using an age accelerant.
Gretchen Corbett is the last surviving cast member of The Rockford Files., and Rita Moreno who appeared occasionally on the series.,
❤❤❤❤❤ I'm so glad they showed them every day on the Roku channel add a little girl in even as an adult and a grandmother I still enjoy it
I there something politically incorrect about Rockford Files? None of the classic TV stations carry it.
At 3:29 you made a mistake on Gretchen Corbett age
Just watched a Barnaby Jones episode with James Luisi in.
The math doesn't add up. Gretchen Corbett is 74 today not 84.
legal
Not all of the information depicted here is correct as Gretchen Corbett is still in her seventies NOT 84
Gretchen C was born 1945 so she was not 28 in 1975.
I watch the show every night , some times 3 or 4 at a time

Rita Moreno was on five episodes (as a reformed prostitute)…probably not who you are thinking of?

Gretchen Corbett resembles my High School friend, Katy Bruscino...two beautiful women
